I've driven many of the cars in GT5 but the SLS stood out for me.

Not because of it's stunning 'modern retro' looks

nor the insane amount of power.

But the size of it's massive ass when I'm trying to drive it in 3rd person view.

I've seen many SLS's in real life (visited Mercedes Benz World in Brooklands, London)

They are a fairly big car but they're nothing like the size of a veyron, which oddly looks smaller on GT5.

I know 3rd person view isn't the most realistic but I use it as it lets you enjoy the game's graphics whilst also making the transition between Premium and Standard cars a lot easier.

Anyone else experienced this?

Is there any settings I can change to make the car look 'further away' on the screen?

Would like to know if someone knocked some sense into his head and he has deleted his posts or if a mod played god and averted the evil. IF it's the latter thanks mod.

Back to topic. I usually don't drive in 3d person but when you use the hood view the cars hood is extremly big, taking almost half the screen away.

Yes. If you go into the Mini cup race, all of the rest of the cars look normal, but the '07's camera isn't set up properly so everything is zoomed in up close.

You'd think they'd want the cover car to look the best/most accurate, not the biggest.

It's not such a bad thing for it to be close up, is it? I mean, In past GT games there were several different cam views, so why not be a bit different for the cover car to show off the lovely graphics. I obviously may be wrong and it's probably a mistake or something. :dopey:

had an SLS passing me on my way home yesterday (alas a Fat Guy with an ugly Lady so im not to much depressed).
The Front is so damn wide...
The GT5 version might be extra wide (especially in 3rd pers. view) but the car IS big.
The wide front comes out even wider visually as its so long and low.

Off-topic, but I am so damn jealous of all of you. You've witnessed an SLS, in real life, not in a photo, there isn't a hope in hell that I'd see one here in NZ, I've never seen a car worth more than $200,000NZ (about 120,000 for americans, and 100,000 for europe) around here, however, at the Targa I did see a Ford GT, and three Nissan GTR's, that was a good day, but still

 Soooo jealous

Same with the SLR Mclaren, nearly all the Mercedes cars seem to have a higher-closer chase cam view compared to the others.

Another car which looks really large, but is rather small, is the TVR Tuscan:odd:

A ferrari convoy of an Enzo, F50 and F40 went through my village last year (week that the World Masters Golf Championships were being held in the next town from me)

I was shocked.

Maserati Gran Turismo lives up my road with a few Aston Martins and there's a classic Bugatti Race Car in a garage on the other side of town

I saw one in green, and the official one of the game on the autoRAI 2011, a official car event, and the gt one looked smaller, but was still wide

the Nissan Silvia S15 RM is the same way, takes up so much of the screen even though it's not a big car

Yes, I've noticed that too.
Same with SL300.
But I don't use 3rd person camera so I'm not bothered.

Yeah its brutal. There are a few others I've driven which I won't anymore along with this just because of it. I can't drive to save my life without the 3rd person view so its a problem. Especially when going uphill (as few times that happens).

For the record - I don't think any car has ever taken up as much screen space in 3rd person as the Escudo. That goes for every GT game that I've ever played. It's just nothing but a big red wing taking up half the screen
