Jordan what are you doing, to improve I expected you too add smilies not remove them

Ok I can get my smilies from other sites but some of the old GTP ones can't be found elsewhere on the net? :computer:

I can't believe it...You've removed them from the Signatures aswell

Why on earth would you want to cut so many smilies?

Ok so maybe you just got carried away when changing the site, go on just put them all back eh?

Alex, shut up. More than half of those smilies were never used. Quit moaning about the things you find wrong with the site. Just because you are not in favor of hat has been done does not mean you have to constantly moan about it.

I'm shocked at what's happened in GTP Concept, and hey you know what.. if I'm not happy about something, then I will not shut up?

Basically I don't want to see my favourite forum become just another plain boring community.

I ask you Jordan, which other forum on the net had a shoutbox, so many smilies, and a post count? Not any that I've seen, why have you jumped on the traditional forum Bandwagon?

Actually, they can still be found right here on GTPlanet. Click on "Even More Smilies" in the smilie box when composing your post to see all of the old ones. I created that feature with you in mind, because I knew that you would still want to use them in your posts.

You may still use smilies in your signature, that has not changed.

I removed smilies that didn't really have a purpose, and I went through each old smilie and only used the ones that displayed a real emotion. As a result, you don't have to load an endless page of other ones just to find the one you're looking for, and I find myself using smilies more often now without delay and frustration.

Alex, remember that you could always find smilies on the Internet and use the img tag to put them in your posts.

Yeah, occasionally using image tags for a more "unpopular" smilie is inconvenient. I think Jordan was trying to discourage *ahem* smiley laden posts and sigs.

mmm well seeing the poll results I'll have to accept the change....I guess I'll accept the change and appreciate that the smilies can be found in, 'Even more Smilies'.

Though I will miss being able to just go: :car:, :computer:, etc...

Yes, you'll need to use the IMG tags, but I recently realized that I should include the tags in the links to the image on the "Even More Smilies" page, so all you have to do is click "copy shortcut" and then paste that into your post. That should make things even easier.

No, I didn't do it on purpose. They were in another directory, outside of our default smilie directory that I backed up when moving the forums off of the subdomain. Thank you for reminding me for my mistake - I will add all of them to the "Even More Smilies" page when I return home.

Because, smilies with replacement text are in the vBulletin database, and they will all appear in the "Get More Smilies" list just like they were before. vB simply wasn't designed to handle that many smilies.

Dodge the :viper: is right about copy and paste, but it is still far more inconvienant than going, :computer:, :gcar:, :nissan:, :viper:, :honda: etc.. etc.. Plus knowing most of these off by heart made typing a post far easier and quicker than now..

And what really annoys

me is that almost all of my past 2000 posts will be ruined because they were all in ::::::: format, it's almost as if Jordan has snatched these away

I too liked your smilie posts, but the fact is, rummaging through that long smilie list was difficult for the rest of us... no offense, but the tradeoff is much better for everyone else. I know that my 56k life has been made much easier by only having a short, definitive list to go through.

Plus, let me pose this question: Do the smilies actually affect the true content of your posts?

This has always been a problem, but hopefully it will be corrected in vB3. See this thread for more info.
