Welcome to the June 2026 SNAIL Division 2 thread!

If you would like to volunteer for any roles please post in this thread and your name will be added to the role in question.
Snail is run by it’s members and D2 has many new members who may not realize this, so doing a job on race night makes it better for everyone involved. Volunteer for a role and then if needs be you can do it race night.
Easiest: Texter. Post messages in the lobby to randoms who should be encouraged to join Snail and asked to leave the lobby. It’s a cut and paste thing.
Easy: Replay Uploader. Save and share the replays according to Snail’s format for searching.
Medium: Scorekeeper
Data Entry: Data Specialist
Involved: Host

I just want to say that your stellar attendance and hosting are what makes Snail, Snail. You are a gentleman and a scholar. I don't know what D2 would do without you.

We all do what needs to be done to keep Snail going and i thank everyone involved for helping. We all do this together like a racing family.

The reason I'm messaging here is, do any of you guys has a very cool picture that you can shar so I can use it as YT thumbnail for the last race? I'm about to publish and I'm not a home right now. I would sincerely appreciate it.

Just a reminder that I'm on holidays for the month of June and all I can do is monitor the threads, which I don't do often, due to the first part of this sentence. :) D2 needs help from all who race, even the newest. It's a volunteer group. If you race just once a season and are capable of scores and/or data, that is all it takes. I and @racingchamp30 are regular attenders, unless the host forgets about the new start time. 🤣. As a retired teacher I'm home a lot and do scores and data. When I take my longer holidays I don't. But, you don't have to have that attendance record to do scores or data, just to do so when you do race, if needed. So, if many were capable, and at least one of them was racing, we're golden. If your a most of the time, some of the time, checking it out, but want it to work, kind of racer, learn how to do scores and/or data. It's data entry in a spreadsheet, how hard can it be. I know you all want to race clean and Snail is the place, but Snail needs the help of all involved.

Hosting is a bit more involved, but doable, hey I've even done it, and that's saying something. You need to open a lobby according to the settings @Dragonwhisky posted above and using the combo specs @JamCar0ne posts each week, re: PP, HP, tires, etc. If you know far enough in advance you can set up all 3, save them and then open them on race night. When I hosted Thursday practice I would just open last weeks combo and then modify it to this weeks specs, the stuff Dragon posted never changes. I'm sure RC does something similar. I still do that for my practice as online lobbies differ from offline Time Trials, by about 2 to 3 seconds per lap. You can even practice by opening an online lobby and then do some practice laps. If others join you could even practice starting a race.

With RC's stellar attendance we rarely need a host, but with my long breaks scores and data need to be covered more often. I can't help right now, but I can guarantee you someone in Snail would be more than happy to show you the ropes if you show a willingness to give it a go.
