Alright fellas,
This idea was sprung from @Chris Kelley and I was totally onboard with idea. Retroactively and moving forward, we will be acknowledging single race wins, overall event wins, and Championship with decaling on our cars. See the notes below:
All decals will be applied on the driver side quarter window, or if no room, on the rear glass down the drivers side next to the C-pillar.

Each single race win will be acknowledged by applying a Checkered flag. If a driver wins both races, he will apply 2 of these checkered flags, facing opposite directions with the posts crossing each other.

For an overall event win, the driver will apply a track map silhouette in white below the right facing flag. (If 2 flags are present, facing opposite, the track decal will be placed below the flag on the right)

Simply search the track name.

For the overall Championship, I will be rendering a Championship tag to be placed on your car, and whatever car bei g chosen for later seasons.

Mid to hi 1:27's being reported. My fastest so far during a test session at my newly acquired 635pp regulation is a 1:28.1 in online lobby. Conditions are noted in the first post if you open a room. Let us know what you're putting down.
Would anyone be willing to spend some time with me with some basic tuning stuff? I've felt in-between gears with the supras 8 speed transmission. I feel like I'm able to identify if I'm loose on entry or exit but I'm just not sure how to fix these issues. I have a basic knowledge of kinda how things work as far as parts etc.
My fast lap in practice for last race was a 1:25.4 after Raul suggested an adjustment. Before that it was a 1:25.9.
After 30 or so laps of practice at laguna my fast is a 130.1. I think I can probably find maybe a second with practice but that is no where close to a 27 or 28.

Have you tried locking out some gears?(Make it a 6 speed). It may help you pick up some time. I’m not sure. I always stayed away from the 8’s. I know ppl used to do that at certain tracks. Do the transmission flip and move them way out of range so you don’t use them. Then when you go to Daytona you could use one as like an overdrive to get a good sling shot.lol

Yeah the Z has 9 gears. I only use 6 with 7th geared a smidge taller.

I watched R1600 replay and kind of copied his. But basically it was something like this…
1st 60mph

I also think there should be a mark of shame when you cause a caution... maybe a yellow flag on the opposite window or back bumper.

I'm not sure how to do a transmission flip?
Take the auto setting and move it one click right then all the way left. Then go in manually and move the final ratio all the way right. It should be 5000. Then go to 1st and move it as long (to the left) as you can. Move 7th and 8th to the left as far as you possibly can. Then set 6th to red line on the longest straight or where it uses the power band most efficiently. (Most turbo and supercharged cars don’t benefit from high revs.) You’ll just have to figure out where your transmission and engine work best. Different engine combinations have different power bands. So every time you change something with the engine you’ll have to tune the transmission differently. Some engines like to rev so they will benefit from more having say 8 gears. Most high reving engines don’t make a lot of torque. So they need more gears closer together. That’s the way they can stay in that high reving range without being outside the power band. Cars that make a lot of torque typically benefit from a wider spread of ratios. They make power down low in the rev range and then fall off. So you benefit more from getting into the next gear where it can pull through the power band again. The more you gag it, the more acceleration you lose. Set your ratio spread so it works best with your power band. Then go out and find what you need through each particular corner. Most of the time you have to sacrifice one section to improve another. That’s just the way it is. It’s just which one is most important to you. So you just go with that and hope for the best. Lol

Alright Gents, I know its still very early in this current season of the Michelin Pilot Challenge, but wanted to present ideas for next season and the time between seasons. I want to start by stating that there will be a season 2 to start next spring of this same series/format/season/etc if the interest is there to run again. Now, that leaves the time of December thru April/May-ish open. We have 3 options:
1.) Take a month or 2 break, and then kick off the new season.
2.) Take a 4-5 month break until April rolls back around, and then restarts the next season.
3.) Run a Interim series of similar format/rules/tuning/length, but using different cars. See Below:

MR and RR Supercars spec'd to GS/GT4 class body styles and weights, with near GT3 Class power.
Eligible cars:/base specs
'20 Corvette C8 / 494hp-3373lbs-585pp
'09 Ferrari 458 Italia / 563hp-3274lbs-614pp
'17 Ford GT / 646hp-3053lbs-629pp
'17 Honda NSX (AWD) / 570hp-3924lbs-583pp
'15 Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 (AWD) / 601hp-3135lbs-629pp
'14 McLaren 650S / 641hp-2932lbs-635pp

I would likely be targeting around 650-665pp which would put most cars in the 450-550hp range and weight ranging from 2700-3400lbs. Plan for Racing Hard Tires.
No widebody upgrades, and no lower diffusers allowed. All other adds and tuning rules will be similar to our current series. Weights to be hard set after testing. HP and Aero will make up the difference to achieve PP max regulation. This will basically be our current series, but utilizing MR and RR GT based supercars rather than FR GT cars.

We would run from Dec '23 to April '24 for a 5 event season, and then kick off a Season 2 of our normal series in May '24.
I would like a consensus of who is interested in what before investing too much time into testing for the above proposed. Please reply (1), (2), or (3) in the thread. This way, if the interest in in an interim series, I can spread the testing out across a longer time frame and not be crunched when this season comes to a close. This would allow everyone plenty of time to test and prepare their cars while we are still racing, and then start up without much gap. Hope this idea perks everyone's interest. If the voting falls strongly toward option 3, I will start working on testing and probably have details out some time in September.

I’m having a similar issue. I can’t go bellow 1:28. My problem seems to be more on the suspension side. I haven’t sit down yet to try to lower that time. I have been messing around with setups on ACC and, I may be able to do something about it. However, 1:27 seems very difficult for me at this point.

It would be tempting, but I've come to the realization not everyone like the Porsche as much as we do...but, notice I did manage to include it in the car roster. ;)

Yes, I saw that, but the ones I have are wide bodies…so would need to buy another

Well, I have good news. After doing some preliminary testing, these cars will be using the widebody upgrade. The Porsche will basically by the Cup car we used, but without the lower diffuser and less power....from over 500hp down to around 390-400ish for this Supercar series. And, its still fast.

Post Race Report and Scoring
Event #2 at Road Atlanta


Event #2 at Road Atlanta presented some great racing and intense battles across both races. Overall, it was a good clean night of racing. My Race 1 was spent trying to keep @Chris Kelley (Warmachine) behind me...a few points at which I wasn't sure I could hold down. Race 2 was a good climb though the field early in the race, getting as high up as 5th fighting Duc for 4th, before over-pursuing and making a mistake taking me back to 8th. Try climbing back up and started to fight Raul for 5th before another mistake in the final lap, ultimately handing me an 8th place finish. Despite the ups and downs of race 2, it was a blast. Raul and Turbo had knock out battle at Road Atlanta...have a look when you get a chance. As usual, I'd ask all drivers to feel free to share their battles at Watkins Glen, via post, video, pics...however you prefer.

Minimal lag/jittering was present across the field, and was overall very predictable.

Now for Scoring:

Keep 2 wheels on or within the white line where curbing is not present, or on the curbs where they are present at all times, except where it is specifically noted otherwise. The white line and curbing is considered legal track surface. Failure to comply to track boundaries could result in penalties if infractions are witnessed and reported.

Just a preview of a few of our MPC GSC (Grand Sport SuperCars). Liveries are not yet set to our series requirements, nor is the final car roster but you'll get the idea. Some behind the scenes testing is already in play.
A few points figured out:
-675.00pp max
-static weights between 2700-3200lbs
-Approx Horsepower figures between 390-550hp dependant on car choice and tune.
-Think of these cars as GT4/GS SuperCars.

Goal is to have final car roster, track roster, parity testing done, and thread up with regulations by September.
This will allow drivers plenty of time to build and test the cars themselves, and to get everything together to be ready to kick off in December as soon as our current series closes. This will put us on a 5 event interim season, with a Season 2 kickoff of the current formatted MPC GS series in May '24. Stay tuned for more details.

1:28.2 was my best at Laguna. Not one of my favorite venues but it should be much better racing than Atlanta which was more processional...for the leaders.
Wasn't that processional from my vantage point...had a lot of racing and position changes in both races at Road Atlanta.
 
There was a lot of racing of course. But not a lot of position changes. For example, you would not be able to hold off Warmachine, who was faster, for an entire race at Laguna. Wider tracks with more racing line options will generally allow drivers more passing options.

But yes, if you want to be able to hold off drivers for multiple laps, then the narrow tracks like Atlanta will allow that. Which will somewhat artificially keep the majority of the field close. Especially in reverse grid situations.
