confirm for last round.

Even though the race was on my calendar for the 2nd I somehow had in my head the race was on the 9th. Just sat down tonight to do some practice laps and saw a few messages asking if I was going to race. 🤦🏼‍♂️

If I get my head screwed back on correctly I should see you on track at Road Atlanta.

Event #8 / Race #1 Recap

Event 8 Spotters Guide.webp

Preamble:
Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2026.

For the first time ever, @llNovall has taken his show to Canada, specifically to la Belle Province of Québec at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (CGV), Canada's only FIA Grade 1 racetrack. I'm happy to see it already on the 2026 V8 series and I'm hoping @llNovall continues to show the love to his Canadian drivers by featuring it as a tour stop in his future series.

Perhaps there's no other driver that lives as close to a GT7 track as @bublyman does to CGV. He's likely less than 10 km (6 miles) from the track and took the the #19 bus to Ile Notre-Dame to personally walk the track as part of his preparation.

The changes to the grid from Event #7 are as follows:
Life can get in the way sometimes for all of us, myself included as I missed 2 Events this season, but recent attendance is a little concerning. We were at a season low with only 10 drivers showing up for qualifying, (with @socalnatv taking in the action as a spectator as he continues his recovery from knee surgery - which was appreciated)

Qualifying Table:
Event 8 - Quali Table 1.webp

Event 8 - Quali Table 2.webp

@DRD_Niagara claims his first pole of the season. I fully acknowledge I carry 5-8 more PP's than some drivers but this made my night and is the highlight of my season. Also to note, it's Team WKM's 3rd consecutive Pole after @DublDee's poles in Laguna Seca and Watkins Glen.

So the Event goes off with @DRD_Niagara and @Yugofan on the front row. @bublyman will lineup next to @Phlano099 in the second row while @CdnSweetTee and @radliffracing will occupy the third row.

Event #8 / Race #1:

LAP #1:
As the lights go out in Montréal, we give a salute to Gilles as the action gets underway.
SHARE_20260104_0533450.webp

LAP #1 - Lead Change:
A predicted sloppy start by @DRD_Niagara would allow @Yugofan to move into the lead. By the time we reach Sector 2, @DRD_Niagara would drop to 5th place.
SHARE_20260104_0534120.webp

An unfortunate mechanical issue would have @Mac1032763 retire the car between Turns 4 and 5 on Lap #1. @Mac1032763 - hope you can get your equipment fixed or replaced and see you on the track soon.

LAP #3:
This pic at Turn 2 would be pretty cool with a full grid. The race is settling in and @Yugofan still has his lead. @CdnSweetTee, @bublyman, @DRD_Niagara, @Phlano099 are in the top 5.
SHARE_20260104_0534360.webp

LAP #3:
The Casino de Montréal provides a backdrop as fan favorite and local hero @bublyman goes into the Wall of Champions. The error would drop him from 3rd place to 7th.
SHARE_20260104_0534530.webp

Fun Fact:
The Casino de Montréal structure was originally the France Pavilion that was left over from the famous Expo '67. Not sure if any of you are boxing fans but I saw Jean Pascal fight here back in 2005.

LAP #4 - Lead Change:
On the Casino Straight of Lap #4, @CdnSweetTee would power herself past @Yugofan to take the lead. @DRD_Niagara is in 3rd with a hard charging @llNovall in 4th.
SHARE_20260104_0535110.webp
Fun Fact (to be Confirmed):
@bublyman lives on the 17th floor of the white residential tower in the background.

LAP #5:
@Phlano099 had an unsteady exit out of Turn 9 and ended up scraping the wall. Disaster was avoided but he'd drop from 5th to 8th, giving up spots to @DublDee, @bublyman and to @Noob01_lmdead by the time they got to the hairpin up the road.
SHARE_20260105_0500240.webp

LAP #7:
@DRD_Niagara used his extra power to get by @Yugofan down the Casino Straight and barely got the car stopped in time thus taking a less than idea line. Hard to keep a car steady with only 1 tire on the pavement. Speed was lost and positions given up to @Yugofan and @llNovall who would now be running 2nd and 3rd behind @CdnSweetTee.
SHARE_20260105_0500410.webp

LAP #8:
A little contact by @Phlano099 on @Noob01_lmdead allowed for @DublDee to squeeze his car alongside them while @Phlano099 lifted for @Noob01_lmdead. But it provided for my favorite picture of the race. They're going 3-wide exiting Turn 2. With action like this, it boggles the mind that we've been struggling to fill out the grid in recent events.
SHARE_20260105_0501000.webp

LAP #12:
A few feet from the St. Lawrence River, (known locally as "Le Fleuve") it was @Yugofan that would touch up the wall and provide an opening for @llNovall to move up a spot to take 2nd place.
SHARE_20260105_0501180.webp

LAP #14:
With just a few laps to go, we can see @CdnSweetTee in the distance building on her comfortable lead. @llNovall, @Yugofan, @DRD_Niagara and @bublyman are bunched together rounding up the top 5. And just about to enter the braking zone behind them is @DublDee.
SHARE_20260105_0501370.webp

LAP #17:
@llNovall still leading @Yugofan, @DRD_Niagara, @bublyman in maybe my favorite part of the track. We went a few laps like this and all took turns kissing the walls from time to time. @llNovall has created a little bit of space between himself and @Yugofan.
SHARE_20260105_0501570.webp

LAP #18:
@DRD_Niagara finally got another chance to put his extra PP's to good use and got by @Yugofan along the Casino Straight, likely with the help of the extra space that @llNovall created.
SHARE_20260105_0502160.webp

LAP #19:
@llNovall kissed some walls towards the end of sector 1 which allowed @DRD_Niagara to close the gap and to have a run at him on the straight. He got by @llNovall, but his exit out of the last chicane was sloppy with a touch of the Wall of Champions which gave the crowd a flat out drag race to the end.
SHARE_20260105_0502320.webp

LAP #19:
The preceding action was only for 2nd place as 1st place was claimed by @CdnSweetTee 11 seconds earlier for her 1st win of the season. Standing next to her on the podium is @DRD_Niagara and @llNovall.
SHARE_20260105_0502470.webp

In the process, @CdnSweetTee also bagged the valuable Fastest Lap bonus with a ridiculous 1:38.126, which edged out @DublDee's 1:38.462 and @DRD_Niagara 1:38.652.

Event #8 / Race #1 Broadcast:

Driver of the Race Award:
As I review the replays to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #8 / Race #1.
  • @CdnSweetTee - Yes, there's extra power there but it was put to use in the safe zone of the straight and her race was flawless. Nicely done @CdnSweetTee.
Final Thoughts:
  • What a great addition CGV has been to GT7. Thank you Kaz.
  • We've got to figure out a way to get these grids back up to 14-16 drivers. We've got a few new Snails in the Sunday Spec League, if they show up in the next few weeks, I'll reach out to see if they're interested in this Series.
  • Since I've been part of this Series, there's quite a few of you that have offered advice and tips in practices and it makes for such a great group. I likely do not attempt the full-send on @llNovall in the last chicane without your confidence building feedback.
  • Updating the tally for the Pole Position Bonuses through 8 Events: Antman 4 / @DublDee 2 / @Noob01_lmdead 1 / @DRD_Niagara 1.
  • It's a fresh new year and there's no better time to get yourselves on the Spec League active driver list. I plan to participate 70% of the Sundays this year. Come join us.
That's how I interpreted Event #8 / Race #1.

Absolutely love your summaries!

Well, it is hard to believe that this amazing season is coming to an end this month. Simply put, this season has been some of the best online/sim racing that I’ve been a part of and absolutely one of the best groups that I've been lucky enough to be a part of! A huge Thanks has to go to the series organizer, @llNovall and I know I’ve said it before, but it totally amazes me how you keep these series’ so tight and so competitive, while allowing us this awesome sim racing experience. I am nowhere near as fast as a some of the field, but I can tell you that your series’ have help me improve my skills and I have seen many in this group progress/improve throughout the season. Of course, credit goes to Snail Sunday Spec series for my initial footsteps in improving performance, and more importantly, sportsmanship.(thought @DRD_Niagara would like that plug 😉) It was the skills learned there that allowed me to be a part of these series’ where the racing can be very tight and very competitive.

I think it goes without saying that another well deserved, huge thank you, goes to @DRD_Niagara for these creative and very entertaining recaps…..not just the video. Your pictures, comments and highlights are something that I eagerly await after each event. Very well-done Sir! Tee and I usually enjoy a morning coffee while watching them!
And yes, I also must Thank my better half, CdnSweetTee. Even before you gave this a try, you were always cool about me doing this, sometimes until the wee hours of the morning, Lol. Now that we can share this hobby together, it makes it that much more enjoyable.
Lastly, I just want to thank all you guys for the close, hard and clean racing and being so welcoming to CdnSweetTee . I wasn’t sure she was going get comfortable with this type of racing, but you guys made it easy.
It’s been a heck of a season, and I really don’t think anyone can end this season disappointed, everyone had fun and had some good battles throughout the season. This has been an epic series, and the finale is going to provide a very exciting end of the season I think.
We’ll be running some practice lobbies in the evenings for Road Atlanta and some recruiting lobbies for the V8+ Series, so keep an eye out for them and join if you can.

Overall, it was a great night of racing.

Minimal lag/jittering was present across the field, but was overall manageable.

Also, Congratulations to our Top 3 Overall:
1st: Cdn_Sweet_Tee / @CdnSweetTee (#22)

For any drivers that care to participate in displaying their Driver Standing for next event, please see the spoiler tab below for details. Please verify your current driver standing on the scoresheet provided, or by the driver profile page linked in this post. Please be sure to update your livery prior to each event. If in doubt, simply remove the numbers before the event. See the Spoiler tab below:
Driver Standings Recognition
Drivers will be encouraged, not required, to display their current driver standing going into each event after Event #1, though there will be a few rules and requirements.
Drivers who are interested in diplaying their current standing, should collect the following green digital numbers 0-9.
19298d4c15a5-screenshotUrl.jpg

After scoring is finalized and Post Race report issued, drivers will be cleared to edit their driver standing on their number board along with any award tags. Drivers should apply their Standing on both side's boards and be sure their number is in line with their actual standing in the Championship.
Should look like this:
19298d4a4df4-screenshotUrl.jpg

Rules and requirements:
To maintain accuracy and integrity to this recognition, drivers who choose to add their standing to their car will be required to submit an updated profile picture before each event with their scrutineering tuning sheet. Submissions will be reviewed post event just as I do for the driver regulations.
If a driver forgets to submit the car picture with a standing displayed or has the wrong standing placement displayed , it will result in a 5 point penalty against the overall event score. This has to be in place to ensure that those who want to display their standing, maintains the attention and accuracy for it to be credible.
If choosing to display, be sure your edited livery is correct, accurate, and saved prior to each event. If unsure or not interested in displaying your standing, simply leave it blank or just apply double zeros.
The profile pictures will not be used for the Driver profile page, only for scrutineering to maintain the integrity of this recognition.
Again, this is optional, but if done correctly, it will be a great way to know who is where in the standings as the season unfolds.

Any solid painted curbing beyond the checkered curbing will be considered legal track surface. 2 wheels must remian in contact with the painted surface/curbing at all times.

Turn 5 (T5)
1729348488725.png

For this corner, Turn 5 at the end of the S's the large checker curbing will be considered track surface...2 wheels must remain in contact at all times. In this instance, it is obvious that you would want to keep all tires on the curbing to avoid contact with the gravel.
Beyond the curbing, where the tarmac runoff is past the white line, will be considered legal track surface up to where the grass begins. 2 wheels must be on or inside the white line where the grass starts at the exit of the corner.

Below is the link for the 2nd Post in the thread with the most updated driver regulations. Those highlighted in yellow either need to run an initial TT, or run a follow up TT to get the regulations confirmed.

Event #8 / Race #2 Recap

Event 8 Spotters Guide.webp

Preamble:

Much appreciate the messages indicating that you folks enjoy and get a kick of these recaps. As I've said before, I truly enjoy this series and the group and if it helps make it "a little bit better", then I'm all for putting them together.

With @Mac1032763 retiring the car due to mechanical/equipment failures, we're down to a season low 9 drivers for Event #8 / Race #2. The reverse grid order procedures are in effect. This means that @Phlano099 and @radliffracing on the front row. The second row will have @Noob01_lmdead and @DublDee. The third row will be made up of @bublyman and @Yugofan.

(At this point, I might as well list all 9 drivers shouldn't I - lol)

Event #8 / Race #2

LAP #1:
The action kicks off again from La Belle Province. It's lights out on île Notre-Dame and it's @Phlano099 leading the field towards the Virage Senna for the 1st time.
SHARE_20260111_0344140.webp

LAP #1 - Caution
Heading into Turn 8 on Lap #1, the Event's first caution called out. It looked like a missed breaking point by @Yugofan. He does all he can to avoid crashing into @llNovall by voluntarily putting himself into the wall but his speed carries him across the track and into @bublyman. A short Caution was called to put the grid back together.
SHARE_20260111_0344430.webp

LAP #3:
@radliffracing, running 3rd went a little too deep into Turn 1 on Lap #3 which would allow @DublDee, @llNovall and @CdnSweetTee to gain the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions. @radliffracing would leak a little oil on this 1st sector and would drop to 8th shortly thereafter.
SHARE_20260111_0344570.webp

LAP #5:
The inside sausage at Turn 8 appears to have upset @DublDee's car. He tried to regain control but would end up slamming into the outside wall at Turn 9. A costly mistake that would drop from from 3rd to 9th position. The result is another position gained for @CdnSweetTee who quickly finds herself in 4th after starting from the 9th and final spot.
SHARE_20260111_0345100.webp

LAP #7:
@Phlano099, who hasn't been able to join us as often as he'd like this season is making the most of his 1st place start and continues to lead. @Noob01_lmdead, @llNovall, @CdnSweetTee and @DRD_Niagara round off the top 5.
SHARE_20260111_0345240.webp

LAP #10:
The grid is rounding the Virage Senna on Lap #10. @llNovall is applying hard pressure on @Noob01_lmdead's 2nd place.
SHARE_20260111_0345400.webp

I will always highlight the beautiful city that is Montréal. The skyline across the Fleuve on the left while the Jacque Cartier bridge is visible on the right. I had the pleasure of visiting Jacque Cartier's hometown of St. Malo last fall in my travels to France.

LAP #11:
I don't know this for sure but I suspect @CdnSweetTee committed an error that I tend to make which is getting comfortable following the line of the car in front instead of focusing on your own line. @llNovall went a little too deep at Turn 8 and it appears that @CdnSweetTee followed @llNovall's deep line. She'd make the corrections but it would cost her some speed and by the time we got to the ensuing hairpin, @DRD_Niagara and @bublyman would manage to get by her.
SHARE_20260111_0345550.webp

LAP #13:
@Phlano099 still leads the race. This pic captures the moment @llNovall got ahead of @Noob01_lmdead to move into 2nd place. Just behind, @bublyman is applying intense pressure on @DRD_Niagara.
SHARE_20260111_0346190.webp

LAP #14:
A little bit of a shakeup in the top 5 on Lap #14. @DRD_Niagara and @Noob01_lmdead had a fun door-to-door sequence around Turns 1 and 2 before @DRD_Niagara managed to get ahead and into 3rd place. Just behind, @bublyman would have a little slip which would have @CdnSweetTee move into 5th. @CdnSweetTee would also power herself pass @Noob01_lmdead later on this lap.
SHARE_20260111_0346380.webp

LAP #18:
As we go through the last chicane on Lap #18, @DRD_Niagara has lots of things on his mind and some of them involve doing math to see if the possibility exits to somehow win the Event. Doing math entering the race's last lap is not a good idea.

These things include:
  • Just posting the race's F.L. on Lap #17 which comes with a point bonus;
  • Needing @Phlano099 to drop @llNovall on the 19th Lap so I can have a shot at him on the Casino Straight on the final Lap.
  • Ensure I keep @CdnSweetTee at least 0.5 seconds behind me entering that straight so she can't pass me.
    SHARE_20260111_0346540.webp
LAP #19:
The racing was very good on that last Lap but the order didn't change. @Phlano099 paid homage to Canada with a large Maple Leaf decal on his roof and Montréal was good to @Phlano099 in return as he's the 1st to salute Gilles in Race #2.
SHARE_20260111_0347080.webp

The Fastest Lap bonus goes to @DRD_Niagara with a time of 1:38.277 which bests @CdnSweetTee's time of 1:38.413 and @radliffracing's 1:38.597.

As I review the replays to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #8 / Race #2.
  • @Phlano099 - Can't go against @Phlano099 in this one. He didn't run away with it and was pressured from time to time but he went wire to wire and managed his first win of the season.

Final Thoughts:
  • A big thanks to @llNovall for taking his show up to Canada. Hoping CGV as a tour stop in all future series.
  • A bigtime performance by @CdnSweetTee who manages to win Event #8 (on the heals of @DublDee's Event #7 win at the Glen no less) and a huge points haul for WKM. Still lots of room in WKM's trophy case but it has managed 3 consecutive Pole position prizes.
  • @llNovall and @DRD_Niagara manage double podiums at Event #8 - CGV.
  • Thanks for tuning in as a spectator @socalnatv. Hoping your recovery is on track to see you at Event #9. If not, might want to take a few controller lessons from @Kgffy.
  • Get yourselves on the Snail Sunday Spec League active driver lists to continue to hone in your race craft skills. Even as a part-time driver, your support is appreciated. (Appreciate the assist on this the other day @DublDee - lol)
  • See you all in Atlanta in a few weeks. As @llNovall's recent post says, there's quite a few drivers with a chance at the championship.
That's how interpreted Event #8 / Race #2.

I believe that any attempt by me to compete in the last event using a controller would get me banned from this series, and possibly every series that is going to happen afterwards. No way I can do what kg does on that thing. I can barely play the golf game with it. If I do race at Road Atlanta, it will be with all 4 limbs.

Great recap…as always.
Congrats to Tee !!! Great pace and well deserved win in race 1.

Well we should be able to get in some good practice this weekend. Too damn cold to do anything outdoors 😳
IMG_1702.webp

Is that what it takes to get a bunch of people together to prepare for the last race of the season ?

My knee is feeling good enough to start turning lots of laps, and I’m hoping to see a few more on track. Yugo just keeps kicking my butt so I’m looking for someone I can keep up with. As many as possible.

Event #9
Season Finale
Drivers Meeting

Grid Business
Good evening to everyone who will be attending tomorrow night's finale, 9th event of the season at Road Atlanta. We have 13 drivers confirmed for this event with three spots open to fill the grid. If you haven't confirmed and would like to race, please post here or on PSN.

Alot is up for grabs for this final event. The top 2 is seperated by 2 points, the top 3 in standings are inside of 10 points, and the top 5 seperated by 15 points. The championship is up for grabs with many drivers working toward advancing their final standing. Good luck to everyone. @socalnatv , I'm coming for you. ;)

ALL drivers on the main race room grid should submit their spec sheets to my PSN: NOVA-0479 between the time that the room opens at 9pm est and the start of qualifying at 9:15pm est. (Drivers that were in the Pre-Qualifying session should submit these spec sheets again to the group psn or my psn before qualifying begins at 9:15pm est)
I'd ask all drivers to make sure they are running a wired connection in any way possible and to clear their network cache before entering the race room to avoid any issues. It seems the online lobbies run based on the slowest running system and/or internet speed in the room....basically throttles everyone down which appears to cause the instability we have experienced in the past. Let's try to head off any of these issues and optimize everything on our own ends that we can to help. For those with faster internet service speeds (over 200mbps+), it seems there are less issues with stability. For those on slower internet speeds or forced to run wirelessly, their network appears to be affected more when other in the household are online and pulling from the service speed. See this link to optimize your network priority for the gaming, and try to reduce internet usage (if possible) elsewhere in the house when racing.

Get them final practice laps in, and be ready for tonight.

Reminder to all drivers:
The first 16 confirmed drivers are holding 1 of 16 guaranteed grid spots. Any additonal confrimed drivers are Reserve Drivers to bump in with priority based on order of confirmation. Please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event. The latest acceptable notice without any recourse is 9:10pm est.

Drivers Briefing
A few reminders for Road Atlanta:
1.) Be mindful in the opening laps. Be patient, and avoid contact/incident at all cost. Incidents that result in an issued caution, in the opening 2 laps, will come under automatic review for any possible infractions and penalized as necessary. Please be patient, brake earlier, and respect your opponent driver's space/line...they are not brakes or guard rails.
2.) Tight Sections and Chicanes: There is no written rule for these sections, but I'd ask all drivers to exercise caution and good judgement through these sections. Know when you have lost the position when approaching these section, and be considerate enough to back out to avoid the risk of incidents. This series will continue to induce some very close quarters racing, and one slow up, or mistake could result in yourself, both, or many drivers losing position....don't be that guy. If both drivers are dead on, side by side, proceed with caution, and hold your lines. Just be warned that attempting to go side by side in these sections cleanly will slow both of you down and almost guarantee a loss of position(s) from other attacking drivers. BE CAREFUL and AVOID CONTACT.
3.) See this Event Details Link and review for driver specs, race details, and allowable track boundaries for CVG.

Final Reminders:
-Please be sure that everyone is on a wired connection to their PS5 (in any way possible)
-Clear cache before entering the race room
Lets try to do the best we can to reduce the jitters within the lobby.
Any drivers that are noted or noticed to create continuous issues will be asked to retire for the event.

Event #9 / Race #1 Recap

Event 9 Spotters Guide.webp

Preamble:
The season finale is upon us and the 2025 Championship will be decided in Atlanta.

@llNovall, it can't be said enough, thank you for bringing us this series. Attendance might have dropped off slightly since the season started and I understand it's your desire to have a full grid plus 4 or 5 drivers to make these series worth your while but know that you've got a dedicated roster of 10-12 drivers that this series represents the most fun they have with GT7 and their racing rigs.

Onto the action. I came into this finale very much aware of who is in line for the season championship and my goal was to compete, but avoid incident with the contenders at any cost.

The changes to the grid from Event #8 are as follows:
Always good to see more names appear in the "IN" line than the "OUT" line. While we don't have a full grid, the 12 we've got for Event #9 is more than the 10 we had in Event #8.

Qualifying Table:
Qualifying Table 1.webp

Qualifying Table 2.webp

WKM extends it's POLE streak to 4 in a row. @DublDee bagged them at Laguna Seca and at the Glen. @DRD_Niagara followed it up in Montréal and in Atlanta.

Not sure where this came from as it's 3/10th quicker than anything I managed in practices. When I saw @DublDee lay down his 1:21.576 early on in the session I assume "Well, there goes that, just drive". And then a few laps later of stress free driving, I manage to pull out this 1:21.469.

So the Event goes off with @DRD_Niagara and @llNovall on the front row. @DublDee and @Noob01_lmdead will be on the 2nd row while @Worst_Driver and @Yugofan will occupy the third row.

Event #9 / Race #1:

LAP #1:
With the 2025 Championship on the line, it's lights out at Road Atlanta.
SHARE_20260201_0150580.webp

LAP #1 - Lead Change:
Stop me if you've heard this before but a predicted sloppy start by @DRD_Niagara, who suffered heavy wheel spin at the start, would have @llNovall move into first by the time we reach Turn 1. @llNovall - you can have the lead Nova but you can't have my POLE prize.
SHARE_20260201_0151230.webp

LAP #1:
The Event's one and only caution came early as we went through the esses for the firs time. I believe all the cars pictured below were involved to some degree. (with the exception of @cesarr64) We had difficulty in re-grouping and the action would resume on the back straight on Lap #2.
SHARE_20260201_0151470.webp

LAP #4:
The top six are pictured rounding Turns 6 & 7. @llNovall still leads. @DRD_Niagara / @Noob01_lmdead and @DublDee are running in close quarters in 2nd, 3rd and 4th spot. A little further behind them is @Worst_Driver and @JDMKING13.
SHARE_20260201_0152060.webp

LAP #5:
Nice to see @Worst_Driver finally decide to dust off his car and give it fresh oil. He got a run on @DublDee (who always looks his best dressed in yellow) early on in sector 2 of Lap#5 to move into 4th. They would continue to battle and @DublDee would reclaim his position later on Lap #6.
SHARE_20260201_0152260.webp

LAP #7:
@DublDee still running 4th managed to put a little distance between himself and @Worst_Driver / @JDMKING13 and @Phlano099. Further back and entering the braking zone is @socalnatv, @bublyman and @Yugofan. @socalnatv and @bublyman have been engaged for a few laps already and would continue to do so in what was likely the best battle of the race.
SHARE_20260201_0152470.webp

LAP #9:
Lots going on in the picture below including what I believe is a fantastic demonstration of top-notch race craft. So it might be ironic that I'm showing a picture of @Worst_Driver in a less than idea position.
  1. Maybe @Worst_Driver hasn't been a good catholic lately because the race gods were pretty harsh on him here. He clipped a little bit of grass at Turn #12 at the end of the previous lap, like most of us do 50% of the time but his car was upset by it and although he fought to settle it down for the whole straight, he would eventually spin into the wall and across the track.
  2. @Worst_Driver is aware that he's in @JDMKING13 racing line and at the moment of this picture, @Worst_Driver's inputs show that he's slammed it into reverse and hard on the throttle to back himself out of @JDMKING13 line.
Nicely done @Worst_Driver.
SHARE_20260201_0153110.webp

LAP #13:
On the downhill Turn 11, @JDMKING13, @bublyman and @socalnatv are fighting for the 6/7/8 positions. It was hard to settle on a picture to properly capture this sequence with the three of them so I hope I did it justice but the broadcast dedicates some extra time to it.
SHARE_20260201_0153350.webp

LAP #16:
If @llNovall goes on to win this race, he owes it to his clean exits out of Turn #7. @DRD_Niagara needed to come out of this corner no more than half a second behind @llNovall to fully capitalize on his PP premium. Got close a few times but couldn't complete the overtake by the time we got to the breaking zone.
SHARE_20260201_0153570.webp

LAP #18:
The top 4 are still in close quarters. I like to think I made @llNovall sweat a bit from time to time because @Noob01_lmdead certainly had me sweating. And the odd time @Noob01_lmdead wasn't occupying the entirety of my rearview mirror, I was able to see that @DublDee was right behind him so a mistake would have been costly.
SHARE_20260201_0154210.webp

LAP #22:
Shortly after I highlighted this trio on Lap #13, @bublyman had a slip up and ended up on the track runoff at the esses of Lap 14. Yet here he is again, pictured outbreaking @JDMKING13 to move into 7th and getting ready to pressure @socalnatv again for the final lap.
SHARE_20260201_0154410.webp

LAP #23:
@llNovall took the lead at Turn 1 of Lap #1 and held onto it for 23 Laps and got himself his first win of the season and one hand on the Championship trophy. It further demonstrates that if you can string together Top 3's and Top 5's in several Events, you should find yourself in the championship conversation heading into the last week of the season.
SHARE_20260201_0154590.webp

The Fastest Lap bonus goes to @bublyman with his 1:21.453 (the fastest Lap of the Event). It betters @Phlano099's 1:21.498 and @DRD_Niagara's 1:21.662

Driver of the Race Award:
As I review the replays to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #9 / Race #1.
Final Thoughts:
  • Nice to have @Worst_Driver. He last showed up at Nurburgring at Event #3 on August 15th and WKM has been shorthanded ever since.
  • Updating the tally for the Pole Position bonuses: Antman 4 / @DublDee 2 / @DRD_Niagara 2 / @Noob01_lmdead 1.
  • Famous, shameless plug for the Snail Sunday Spec League. I've been trying to venture outside of GTPlanet to recruit some drivers. It's not easy.
  • Recap for Race #2 will be out in the next handful of days.
That's how I interpreted Event #9 / Race #1

Great recap as always Niagara!!!

Congrats to NOVA on the season championship !!! Wish I could’ve been up front and involved in that battle.

Hard to believe that I was less than .4 off of the pole in qualifying and ended up starting in 10th. Crazy close lap times in both qually and race pace with a few exceptional ones of course.

After that strange restart, the racing in the middle of the pack got real tough between jdm, myself, Ridger and yugo. No time to take a breather with bubs tied to my back bumper, and that helped push us both forward to grab jdm and apply pressure to him for 6th place while yugo stalked all 3 of us just waiting for his chance to pounce. Great battle gentlemen.

Event #9 / Race #2 Recap

Event 9 Spotters Guide.webp

Preamble:
The 2025 Porsche Cayman Mobile 1 SuperCup is down to its last race. We started in June of 2025 and have travelled the globe for 18 races across 9 Events and we end at Road Atlanta, a mere 500 miles from where we started in Daytona, Florida.

The reverse grid order procedures are in effect. This means that @cesarr64 will be up front alongside @JDMKING13. The second row will have @Bologna_Duc next to @Worst_Driver. The third row will be made up of @Yugofan and @bublyman.

Event #9 / Race #2

LAP #1:
It's lights out for the last time this season. @cesarr64 will lead the field towards the long sweeping right-handed Turn 1.
SHARE_20260206_0420110.webp

LAP #1 - Lead Change:
@cesarr64 would hold his lead longer than @DRD_Niagara managed in Race #1 but only by a couple extra turns. A little too much grass though the esses on cold tires would unsettle his car. He'd end up in the wall on the right side and would drop from 1st to last. @JDMKING13 would assume the lead of the race.
SHARE_20260206_0420380.webp

LAP #2:
Positions 1 through 4 are occupied by @JDMKING13 / @Worst_Driver / @Bologna_Duc and @bublyman. Positions 5 through 11 are shown exiting the esses on Lap 2, led by @Yugofan. What the picture doesn't show is that @DublDee is in the process of a significant sideways slide towards the sand. He does well to avoid disaster but the loss in speed would mean @Phlano099 and @llNovall would managed to get by him by Turn 6.
SHARE_20260206_0420560.webp

LAP #2 - Lead Change:
On the back straight of Lap #2, both Québecois drivers make moves. @Worst_Driver and @bublyman both use good Turn 7 exists and a slipstream to make passes on @JDMKING13 and @Bologna_Duc. @Worst_Driver now leads.
SHARE_20260206_0421160.webp

LAP #7:
Scary moments at Turn 1 of Lap #1. @Bologna_Duc is shown in the 7th spot. But behind him is @llNovall suffering a bad lock-up which could have thrown a potential championship into jeopardy. Just behind him, I accidentally gave @DublDee a bump towards the grass. Thankfully, both @llNovall and @DublDee were able to hang-on and proceed.
SHARE_20260206_0421340.webp

LAP #10 - Lead Change:
A wide Turn 1 by @Worst_Driver would allow for @JDMKING13 to reclaim the lead he lost back on Lap #2. @bublyman moves ahead of @Worst_Driver and a little further behind is @socalnatv running in 4th.
SHARE_20260206_0421520.webp

LAP #12:
Mechanical issues would strike @DRD_Niagara. I was unable to get out of 2nd gear as I exited the chicane on Lap #11. So my season comes to a premature end when I made the decision to retire the car.
SHARE_20260206_0422130.webp

Thankfully my Fanatec setup seems to be fine after it suffered what seemed to be a couple of loose screws on the clamp that holds the QR2 attachment in place.

LAP #13:
The race's 2nd retirement comes on the very next Lap when @Bologna_Duc decides to retire his car.
SHARE_20260206_0422270.webp

LAP #14:
@Noob01_lmdead and @DublDee might be a littte further back than they had hoped but they've been engaged with each other for quite some time from the 8th and 9th positions, just a couple seconds behind @llNovall in 7th.
SHARE_20260206_0422480.webp

LAP #15 - Lead Change:
After sustaining quite a bit of pressure from @bublyman, @JDMKING13 would suffer a short wiggle between Turns 6 and 7, which would open the door for @bublyman to move ahead into the top spot. @Worst_Driver is in 3rd and @socalnatv, @Yugofan and @Phlano099 in 4th through 6th.

@Yugofan has a pretty good view from the 5th spot to watch the top 4 battle it out ahead of him. For the last couple laps it was @bublyman, @JDMKING13 and @Worst_Driver but @socalnatv has since joined them.

LAP #21:
Same spot a couple laps later, @socalnatv managed to get ahead of @JDMKING13 upon entry to the chicane with just a few laps to go. @llNovall, back in the 7th spot is surely scoreboard watching and has likely noticed @socalnatv gaining a position.

LAP #23:
I'm not sure if I posted 4 "Lead Change" pics before in one of my recaps this season so this was a really competitive race that is ultimately won by @bublyman. It's his 2nd Checkered Flag of the season after he managed one at the Glen back in Event #7. He's joined on the podium by @Worst_Driver and @socalnatv.

Not fully satisfied, @bublyman also bagged the Fastest Lap bonus (just as he did in Race #1) in hopes to make his case for the championship when the math gets computed. His time of 1:21.461 was put down very late in the race and betters @Worst_Driver's 1:21.467 and @llNovall's 1:21.565.

Event #9 / Race #2 Broadcast:

Driver of the Race Award:
As I review the replays to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #9 / Race #2.
Final Thoughts:
  • The math was computed in the post race chat and it seems that @llNovall has claimed the Championship, perhaps for the 1st time in the history of the series he runs.
  • I'll let @llNovall provide the particulars with respect to the tallying of the final scoring of the season before I circle around again to provide a Season Overview which will contain tables of Race Counts, Wins, Podiums and closing remarks.
  • Our Snail Sunday Spec League can use a little bit of a boost in numbers. Get yourselves on the active driver lists.
That's how I interpreted Event #9 / Race #2.

Great race night overall, despite a smaller 12 driver grid to finish out our season. There were multiple drivers in contention for the overall Championship and this final race determined the final order. There are plenty of points to highlight, so take a look at the replays...always worth the watch.
Race broadcasts have been made available for viewing, but you can also view the actual in-game replays through the search tag: snailpsc. Feel free to elaborate on any battle/exchanges you may have shared.
Overall, it was a great night of racing and a great season with this amazing Porsche.

Minimal lag/jittering was present across the field, but was overall manageable.

For any drivers that care to participate in displaying their Driver Standing for next event, please see the spoiler tab below for details.

After scoring is finalized and Post Race report issued, drivers will be cleared to edit their driver standing on their number board along with any award tags. Drivers should apply their Standing on both side's boards and be sure their number is in line with their actual standing in the Championship.
Should look like this:

Race Lobby PP Max Regulation at our end of season remains set to 699.00 PP
(PP adjustments are based off of raw preliminary results, before the issuance of any penalties)
(Please be sure to set Max PP correctly, as noted above, for practice lobbies to allow those drivers with concessions to enter)

Final Driver Regulations is noted in the far right column.
