Yes! Excellent 5 lap practice with @Mac1032763 and @Yugofan. Nose to tail for most of the 5 laps. The draft leading up to the bus stop is helpful for some cars but if you’re close on pp it is a tough ask. The only reason I got by Yugo was the bump from Mac. 👍🏻

Fast laps separated by 0.3sec, 1:50.5 - 50.8. Finish separated by less than 0.1sec.

A few segments of 2x replay speed in this highlight. Hopefully not too disorienting.

Event #6 - Laguna Seca
Monday November 10, 2025

Event #6 / Race #1 Recap

Laguna Seca Spotter Guide.webp

Preamble:
Initially, I wasn't going to recap this events. The schedule change from our typical Friday to the following Monday put me in a jam and I had to skip it. It looks like we set the low bar for the grid size for the season but I'm happy as a group we managed to get it in instead of cancelling it completely.

We're back in North America where the last leg of the season will take place, starting with Event #6 at Laguna Seca. After bouncing around a few replacement dates it was decided to hold the event on a rare Monday night.

The changes to the grid from Event #5 are as follows:
This means that Event #6 will go off with only 11 drivers lining up on the starting line.

Qualifying Table:
Qualifying Table.webp

It will be @DublDee who will claim pole in this event. His lap of 1:25.656 will be enough to hold off @Yugofan and @bublyman. @JDMKING13 also came in within 1/10th of @DublDee's time.

The event will commence with @DublDee and @Yugofan on the front row. @bublyman and @JDMKING13 will be behind them in the 2nd row. It'll be @socalnatv and @Bologna_Duc on the third row.

It does not appear @Noob01_lmdead registered a qualifying time therefore will start from the pits.

Event #6 / Race #1

LAP #1:
Since my involvement in a @llNovall series, Laguna Seca has been a permanent fixture on the schedule and the presence of the corkscrew has always provided an element of uncertainty, it never fails to spin out a car or two.

@DublDee and @Yugofan both get off to good starts but the lefthanded Turns 1 & 2 provide a benefit to @Yugofan.
SHARE_20251125_0125300.webp

LAP #1 - Lead Change
Upon exiting the Andretti Hairpin at Turn 2, @DublDee would lose his lead to @Yugofan. @bublyman and @JDMKING13 retain their 3rd and 4th spots but behind them, @Bologna_Duc's left tires got a little sandy and combined with them not being properly warmed up, he'd end up spining.
SHARE_20251125_0126130.webp

LAP #2:
The corkscrew would cause a little bit of a mess. @Mac1032763'a car would end up a little loose transitioning to the downhill and spin. @Kgffy, being guilty of nothing other than being at the wrong place at the wrong time would also be involved in the incident. Caution would be called to get the grid back together.
SHARE_20251125_0126380.webp

LAP #4 - Lead Change
The green flag waves on the straight as Lap #3 turns into Lap #4. @DublDee manages a better exit than @Yugofan exiting Turn 4 and manages to regain his lead by the time they reach Turn 5. @bublyman is currently in 3rd with @JDMKING13 and @socalnatv in 4th and 5th.
SHARE_20251125_0127070.webp

LAP #5:
The corkscrew gets @Mac1032763 all twisted up again upon its entry and would send him for another spin. Following him this time was @Bologna_Duc who does well to avoid contact but the quick evasive maneuvers would unsettle his car and unfortunately, he ends up with the worst of it.
SHARE_20251125_0127330.webp

LAP #6:
The top three of @DublDee, @Yugofan and @bublyman have been nose-to-tail for a couple laps. The same action is occurring further behind between @CdnSweetTee, @Kgffy and @llNovall who are running 7-8-9. @Kgffy and @llNovall would exchange positions a couple times over the course of the battle.
SHARE_20251125_0128320.webp

LAP #8 - Lead Change
This one was hard to watch. My dear WKM teammate @DublDee worked his tail off and built a little breathing room for himself at the front but would go a little too wide between Turns 3 and 4 on Lap #8 and would end up in the sand. He'd drop from 1st to 8th. @Yugofan now leads.
SHARE_20251125_0128540.webp

LAP #11:
For a few laps, things settled down towards the front of the grid. @Yugofan still leads and is being chased by @bublyman, @JDMKING13, @socalnatv and @Noob01_lmdead all still hoping to land on the podium.
SHARE_20251125_0129150.webp

LAP #11:
I'm pulling pics as I'm watching this replay for the first time. No sooner than I made a note that things are settling in at the front, I see @socalnatv come out a little wide and send his car towards the pit entry lane. He'd drop from 5th to 7th place.
SHARE_20251125_0129330.webp

LAP #17:
With all the incidents, the cars are pretty spaced out by Lap #17. Pictured at Turn 2, @Yugofan still leads @bublyman and @JDMKING13. A little further back is @Noob01_lmdead and still further back is @llNovall. This is currently the top 5.
SHARE_20251125_0129470.webp

LAP #22:
@Yugofan manages to close it off and picks up with first checkered flag of the season. I recall being in quite a few practice lobbies in the days leading up to this Event and had @Yugofan as a contender in this one. Well Done Sir. He'll be joined on the podium with @bublyman and @JDMKING13.

SHARE_20251125_0130030.webp

@Yugofan also cashes in the Fastest Lap bonus with his 1:25.498. He edges out @JDMKING13's 1:25.545 and @bublyman 's 1:25.623.

Event #6 / Race #1 Broadcast:

Driver of the Race Award:
As I review the replay a few times to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #6 / Race #1.
  • @Yugofan claims the award with a fast, clean drive and deserved the win. I make notes to myself in a notebook when I do these recaps and patterns emerge. @Yugofan has been on a tear recently. He podiums twice in Event #5 at Kyoto. Comes within 0.037 of a second from pole in this Event, goes on to win this Race #1 and bags the Fastest Lap bonus along the way.
Final Thoughts:
  • Tallying up the Pole Position Bonuses through 6 Events: @The_Antman_ 4 / @Noob01_lmdead 1 / @DublDee 1.
  • Our numbers in Snail's Sunday Night Spec League have been down a little bit recently. Get yourselves on the grid, even as a part-timer.
  • A thanks to @bublyman and @llNovall for providing pics of the Qualifying and Race Results tables.
  • Apologies for taking so long to recap this race. Hoping to have Race #2 recapped within 4-5 days.
That's how I interpreted Event #6 / Race #1.

A friendly reminder for Watkins Glen as we get closer to race night. It is still bizarre to me that PD did this. Some of you may recall that going off left at the bus stop will cause a car reset onto the track. The car ends up directly on the racing line between the braking point and the first rumble strip entering the bus stop. My memory is that in prior events there have been people reset directly into the traffic of people behind.

Event #6 / Race #2 Recap

Laguna Seca Spotter Guide.webp

Preamble:

Just like Race #1 of this event, we've got a smaller than ideal grid for this one at Laguna Seca.

As per our usual procedures, Race #2 goes off with the grid set in reverse order. This means that the front row is now occupied by @CdnSweetTee and @Bologna_Duc. The second row will have @Mac1032763 and @DublDee. @Kgffy and @socalnatv will start on the third row.

Event #6 / Race #2

LAP #1:
Off they go, it's a quick sprint through the lazy left hander before going hard on the brakes approaching the Andretti Hairpin.
SHARE_20251202_0151500.webp

LAP #1 - Lead Change
Just as we saw in Race #1, the inside line proves beneficial. @Bologna_Duc hugs the curb and secures the lead for himself upon exiting Turn 2.
SHARE_20251202_0152340.webp

LAP #2:
@DublDee was running in 2nd but took on took much sausage at Turn 6. He avoids a total disaster and manages to straighten out his car along the wall. The error would drop him from 2nd to 7th.
SHARE_20251202_0152480.webp

LAP #2:
The shorthanded WKM team suffers another setback moments later as @CdnSweetTee might have gotten on the accelerator too quick on the downhill of the corkscrew and would end up in the sand. @Bologna_Duc, @socalnatv, @Kgffy, @llNovall and @Mac1032763 are the current top 5.
SHARE_20251202_0153050.webp

Lap #4:
@Bologna_Duc still leads. @Kgffy executes a pass on @socalnatv to move into 2nd place.
SHARE_20251202_0153220.webp

LAP #5:
An unfortunate incident occurred as Lap #4 turned into Lap #5. Perhaps @Mac1032763 believed he saw daylight between the wall and @llNovall. A pass was attempted but contact on @llNovall was made.
SHARE_20251202_0153350.webp

The contact would unsettle @llNovall's car and ultimately send him spinning into the sand. @llNovall would park the car for some time. @Mac1032763 waited briefly, continued a few laps and after another spin, would retire the car at Lap #10.
SHARE_20251202_0153500.webp

Lap #7:
This pic taken at the last turn of Lap #7 shows the current spread of the field. @Bologna_Duc has built a little cushion for himself ahead of @socalnatv, who leads a train of cars that includes @JDMKING13, @Kgffy, @Noob01_lmdead and @bublyman. Just behind is @DublDee trying to hold off @Yugofan.
SHARE_20251202_0154070.webp

LAP #10:
@Bologna_Duc still leads the race and @socalnatv is giving chase. But the close battle at this point is between @Kgffy, exiting the corkscrew, with pressure from @Noob01_lmdead, @bublyman, @DublDee and @Yugofan
SHARE_20251202_0154210.webp

LAP #12:
By Lap #12, things are getting hot.. @bublyman has turned up the heat on @Noob01_lmdead and just behind them, @DublDee and @Yugofan have switched positions but @Yugofan is also dealing with pressure from @DublDee.
SHARE_20251202_0154350.webp

LAP #13:
Quite a few good battles are happening and the stress levels might be starting to cause errors. Pictured below is a deep run into Turn 2 by @Kgffy. The slight mistake would cost him 2 positions as he'd fall from 4th to 6th spot.
SHARE_20251202_0154510.webp

Lap #18:
Same spot but on Lap #18, it was @Bologna_Duc that might have missed his breaking point and he goes too deep. He manages to get himself back on course with his lead still intact, but the comfy cushion he had over @socalnatv has evaporated. The end of the race can't come soon enough for @Bologna_Duc.
SHARE_20251202_0155080.webp

LAP #21:
Lap #21 of this race will go down in @llNovall Race Series lore. With just under two laps to go, it's @socalnatv that finds himself into the sand. Perhaps on the throttle to quick or perhaps the wear of the tires but the error drops him from 2nd to 10th. As of now, @Bologna_Duc still leads. @JDMKING13, @Noob01_lmdead, @bublyman and @Kgffy are running 2 through 5.
SHARE_20251202_0155260.webp

LAP #21 - Lead Change
A few turns after @socalnatv's hiccup, it's @Bologna_Duc (who's been leading the race since Turn 2 of Lap #1), that spins-out between Turns 5 and 6 with 1.5 Laps to go. It's a costly error that drops him from 1st to 6th. So in the space of half a lap, @JDMKING13 finds himself leading the race.
Up ahead, @llNovall's car is park off the track, unrelated to this incident.
SHARE_20251202_0155410.webp

LAP #22:
So after the events of Lap #21, @JDMKING13, @Noob01_lmdead and @bublyman find themselves running 1-2-3. However, @bublyman is still not satisfied with his unexpected spot on the podium. He gave @Noob01_lmdead hell for the last lap to try to upgrade his spot on the podium.
SHARE_20251202_0155540.webp

LAP #22:
When @JDMKING13 found himself in the lead after the @socalnatv and @Bologna_Duc errors, he didn't flinch. @Noob01_lmdead was too busy holding off @bublyman to try an attack on him. The three will stand on the podium. @JDMKING13 bags his first win of the season and will leave Laguna Seca with two podium appearances.
SHARE_20251202_0156070.webp

Just as he did in Race #1, @Yugofan will capture the Fastest Lap bonus with a 1:25.590. His time is just ahead of @CdnSweetTee's 1:25.670 and @JDMKING13's 1:25.696.

Final Event #6 / Race #2 Results Table:
IMG_7313.webp

IMG_7314.webp

Event #6 / Race #2 Broadcast:

Driver of the Race Award:
As I review the replay a few times to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #6 / Race #2.

This was a fun race to recap, full of highlights and lowlights. Several drivers ran strong, only to slip up in the end made for the selection of a Driver of the Race difficult.
  • I'm going with @Noob01_lmdead and @bublyman. They were paired up for just about the entire race. @Noob01_lmdead kept his nerve dealing with long spells of intense pressure. @bublyman, who was applying the pressure did so with virtually no contact. Both maintained a high level on concentration. Nicely done guys.
Final Thoughts:
  • A really good Event for @Yugofan who bags a win and two Fastest Lap Bonuses.
  • A couple more drivers managed two podiums at this Event thus joining the "Double-Podium" club.
  • I'm finally caught up with this and the focus now is on this upcoming Friday night at Watkins Glen. If you haven't confirmed yet, get yourselves a spot on the grid.
  • We've got an exciting update coming to GT7 this week that includes a couple new tracks. Get yourselves on the active drivers list for Snail's Sunday night Spec League. These tracks are sure to be selected as Sunday Night Combos very soon.
That's how I interpreted Event #6 / Race #2.

So has everyone downloaded the latest update? Is it as good as what I’m reading online?
Anyway….,everyone ready for tomorrow night? Remember to give @llNovall as much as notice as possible if you’re not gonna make it.
It should a be a pretty enjoyable race, and only 2 races to go with a tight points race.
Let’s have a full field tomorrow!

Very good possibility that I’m not going to be able to race tomorrow. My knee has decided to blow up on me again, and the chances that it goes back to normal enough to race are slim.

Really sucks that two of my favorite tracks are events I’m going to miss. I was looking at this race as my last drive until the new V8 series starts in February, but there’s a chance I’ll miss out on the beginning of that series as well.

Well damm, I hope it gets better soon!

It’s getting replaced on the 16th. I’ve been dealing with this knee issue since I was a teenager. It’s finally givin up on me.
Terribly sorry to hear this Sand. Hope the replacement and recovery goes well. You’ll be missed on the grid for sure.

Event #7 Drivers Meeting

Grid Business
Good evening to everyone who will be attending tomorrow night's 6th event of the season at Watkins Glen Int'l. We have 14 drivers confirmed for this event. 2 spots remain open for any last minute entries. (@The_Antman_ , @Phlano099 , @Worst_Driver )

ALL drivers on the main race room grid should submit their spec sheets to my PSN: NOVA-0479 between the time that the room opens at 9pm est and the start of qualifying at 9:15pm est. (Drivers that were in the Pre-Qualifying session should submit these spec sheets again to the group psn or my psn before qualifying begins at 9:15pm est)
I'd ask all drivers to make sure they are running a wired connection in any way possible and to clear their network cache before entering the race room to avoid any issues. It seems the online lobbies run based on the slowest running system and/or internet speed in the room....basically throttles everyone down which appears to cause the instability we have experienced in the past. Let's try to head off any of these issues and optimize everything on our own ends that we can to help. For those with faster internet service speeds (over 200mbps+), it seems there are less issues with stability. For those on slower internet speeds or forced to run wirelessly, their network appears to be affected more when other in the household are online and pulling from the service speed. See this link to optimize your network priority for the gaming, and try to reduce internet usage (if possible) elsewhere in the house when racing.

Get them final practice laps in, and be ready for tonight.

Reminder to all drivers:
The first 16 confirmed drivers are holding 1 of 16 guaranteed grid spots. Any additonal confrimed drivers are Reserve Drivers to bump in with priority based on order of confirmation. Please notify me as soon as reasonably possible if you are unable to make the event. The latest acceptable notice without any recourse is 9:10pm est.

Drivers Briefing
A few reminders for Watkins Glen Int'l:
1.) Be mindful in the opening laps. Be patient, and avoid contact/incident at all cost. Incidents that result in an issued caution, in the opening 2 laps, will come under automatic review for any possible infractions and penalized as necessary. Please be patient, brake earlier, and respect your opponent driver's space/line...they are not brakes or guard rails.
2.) Tight Sections and Chicanes: There is no written rule for these sections, but I'd ask all drivers to exercise caution and good judgement through these sections. Know when you have lost the position when approaching these section, and be considerate enough to back out to avoid the risk of incidents. This series will continue to induce some very close quarters racing, and one slow up, or mistake could result in yourself, both, or many drivers losing position....don't be that guy. If both drivers are dead on, side by side, proceed with caution, and hold your lines. Just be warned that attempting to go side by side in these sections cleanly will slow both of you down and almost guarantee a loss of position(s) from other attacking drivers. BE CAREFUL and AVOID CONTACT.
3.) See this Event Details Link and review for driver specs, race details, and allowable track boundaries for Watkins Glen.

Final Reminders:
-Please be sure that everyone is on a wired connection to their PS5 (in any way possible)
-Clear cache before entering the race room
Lets try to do the best we can to reduce the jitters within the lobby.
Any drivers that are noted or noticed to create continuous issues will be asked to retire for the event.

Here is the confirmation list:

Thank you PD for 2 new tracks. Villeneuve will be an fun new addition to the Nova series. Looking forward to that. I expect to see a Canadian podium sweep! lol Yas Marina presents some interesting challenges but like Paul Ricard managing the many oob opportunities will be a completely different challenge. A much different appreciation of that track after having watched so many F1 races there.

And then, after PD scoured the forums and gathered user feedback (uh, they do that right?), apparently one of the top things in need of improvement?

IMG_0798.webp

To the point of annoyance and distraction imho. In lobby, sound settings, tire squeal -3 seems to help for me anyway.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow night!

Actually surprised we even got the race in without any PS crashes, given how the lobbies have behaved since the update.
As with every race in the series, there were some happy drivers (Two 1st time winners?) and others less happy. I’ve been on both sides. But overall, I have to say I really enjoy racing with this group. There’s a lot of talent and understanding of race craft here and while we all have our moments, the respect for one another makes it a really enjoyable series. Thank you @llNovall!
Looking forward to Montréal!

Event #7 / Race #1 Recap

Event 7 Spotters Guide.webp

Preamble:
The rest of the season will take place on the east coast, and we're at the Glen for Event #7. Since my participation in Snail's @llNovall series, Watkins Glen has always featured as a stop on his schedule I hope to see that continue. I think this track has it all. Sweeping curves, walls, a long straight and elevation changes.

I live about 225 km from Watkins Glen (140 miles for my American friends) so I've always considered it my GT7 home track.

The changes to the grid from Event #6 are as follows:
Once again, we're well below 16 cars for this event. The races will go off with 12 drivers lining up at the starting line.

Qualifying Table:
251205 - Quali Table 1.webp

251205 - Quali Table 2.webp

For the second consecutive event, @DublDee will claim pole and he does so by putting down a lap for the ages in his very first hot-lap of the session. I spent quite a bit of time with several drivers in practice sessions and saw times start creeping into the high 49's but nothing near @DublDee's time.

So the Event goes off with @DublDee and @Noob01_lmdead in the front row. @llNovall will lineup next to @DRD_Niagara in the second row while @Mac1032763 and @socalnatv will occupy the third row.

Event #7 / Race #1:

LAP #1:
It's lights out in Upstate, New York. These opening pics are usually my favorites. While I do wish we had a full deck of 16 cars out here, I find the different liveries so nice to look at.
SHARE_20251208_0230060.webp

LAP #1:
The first two sectors, with it's esses, bus stop and the long sweeping righthander can be trickly on cold tires. Some light door rubbing occurred but as a group, we all get away pretty cleanly.
SHARE_20251208_0230550.webp

LAP #2:
Both @DublDee and @llNovall manage great starts and occupy the top two spots. @DRD_Niagara, in 3rd is already feeling pressure from @Mac1032763, @socalnatv and @Noob01_lmdead. @Bologna_Duc and @Kgffy are just behind.
SHARE_20251208_0231110.webp

LAP #3:
The first critical mistake of the race is made by @Bologna_Duc as he comes out of the bus-stop on Lap #3 a little wobbly. Contact with other cars is avoided but he would go for a spin which would drop him from 7th to 12th.
SHARE_20251208_0231240.webp

LAP #4:
The next error would come on Lap #5 with @Mac1032763's exit of Turn 7, known as "The Toe". He touched grass and fights hard to make the correction but would also end up for a spin. He would drop from 5th to 12th and would retire the car moments later.
SHARE_20251208_0231390.webp

LAP #6:
@Kgffy is leading @Yugofan and @bublyman on Lap #6. The picture shows @Yugofan exiting the bus-stop a little unsteady. He caught his car but lost a little speed. @bublyman seizes the opportunity and takes the 7th position.
SHARE_20251208_0232070.webp

LAP #7:
A couple things happening in this picture. I recall running a little too deep at The Toe on Lap #7 and with quality drivers like @Noob01_lmdead, @socalnatv and @Kgffy behind me, that's going to cost me a position. @Noob01_lmdead is shown passing me to move into 3rd and a little further behind, @Yugofan manages retake the 7th position from @bublyman.
SHARE_20251208_0232280.webp

LAP #10:
Quite a good battle between @bublyman and @Yugofan, which would periodically also include @JDMKING13 but it comes to an end on Lap #10 when @Yugofan hits the barrier exiting The Toe. Lots of action at The Toe. He'd drop from 7th to 9th.
SHARE_20251208_0232440.webp

LAP #13:
The view from my cockpit for the last few laps. I've been dealing with pressure @socalnatv and @Kgffy for quite some time now and feel like @socalnatv is sitting in my backseat. He'd pass me about 100 yards later to move into 4th.
SHARE_20251208_0233030.webp

LAP #15:
Checking in at the front, @DublDee still leads and has built a decent gap between himself and 2nd place, @llNovall. With just a few laps to go, it's just himself, an open road, and his thoughts. But memories of Lap 8 of Race #1 at Laguna Seca are creeping into his head and he's doing his best blocking them out.
SHARE_20251208_0233180.webp

LAP #16:
@llNovall has had a quiet, comfortable race but with a few laps to go, he's looking in his mirrors more frequently as @Noob01_lmdead has been creeping closer and closer to him in recent laps. The pic also captures a small but costly error where @socalnatv would touch grass in the braking zone and send him for a quick spin which would drop him from 4th to 10th.
SHARE_20251208_0233310.webp

LAP #17:
Entering the bus-stop on the final lap of the race from the 4th position, I'm fully aware that I forgot to open the window in my room because I'm sweating and I'm gripping my wheel pretty hard. @JDMKING13 would come out of the bus-stop a little unstable and spin, he'd drop from 7th to 10th.

LAP #17:
@Kgffy would pass me to move into 4th on the exit of the race's last turn and I was lucky to avoid giving up another spot to @bublyman as I held him off by 0.047 seconds. If he had another 50 yards, he would have passed me too.

LAP #17:
But moments earlier, it was @DublDee that closed off the race with a big win. It's the first win of the season for himself and for his WKM team and he exorcises the demons from his mishap at Laguna Seca last month. He'll be flanked on the podium by @llNovall and @Noob01_lmdead.

The Fastest Lap bonus is awarded to @Bologna_Duc, who's time of 1:49.786 bests @DublDee's 1:49.873 and @JDMKING13's 1:49.917. They are the only three to squeeze into the 49's.

Event #7 / Race #1 Broadcast:

Driver of the Race Award:
As I review the replays to pull pictures and to record the broadcast, things stand out to me so I give a shout-out to the following drivers for their performance in Event #7 / Race #1.
  • @DublDee - Was strong in practices leading up to the race and then sends a message with bad intentions to the field with his blistering time in Qualifying. Follows it up with a big win and just missed out on the Fastest Lap Bonus. Well done and well deserved Sir.
Final Thoughts:
  • Updating the tally of the Pole Position Bonuses through 7 Events: @The_Antman_ 4 / @DublDee 2 / @Noob01_lmdead 1.
  • My traditional plug for Snail's Sunday Night Spec League. Bored on a Sunday night? Come enjoy stress free racing, full-time and part-time drivers needed.
  • Hope to recap Race #2 next weekend or so.
That's how I interpreted Event #7 / Race #1.
