So, for tomorrow, are the drivers coming, and testing, or is it just the tuners coming? Or...?

Tomorrow is just my regular parity series. There is nothing happening for this until Friday night. Sorry for the confusion.

I need to look and see what cars are in the recommended car list for Friday. I want to run at least three races, one in a car that understeers, one in a car with neutral steering, and one with a car that oversteers. I know I want something like an S2000 and a V8S for the neutral and oversteer cars. I don't know what, in the recommended garage, would be a good understeer-prone FR.

Perhaps a Volvo C30? It's not bad for understeer, but, it certainly isn't good, as stock.

And, okay. I'll be there on Friday, unless my ALMS schedule conflicts (8 PM EST.)

Tomorrow is the regular Parity series? Okay. I'm less than perfect with the F1 cars...

That would have been a big surprise!!!

And a pretty huge calamity in turn one! :scared:

I took some photos of my entries:

Okay, a couple of notes:

This Friday evening, at 10:00 p.m. Eastern, we will have a little show off session. It will be voluntary. I will post the results, though getting to see the drivers may be better. It will be in the SNAIL_Division2 lounge. If you have not already, send a friend request.

I'm also trying to firm up the constructor and driver lists. I think we can have a draft next week, and give teams time to practice before the series starts in July. If you have any friends, now is the time to get them involved.

Do drivers need to come prepared with any broken-in cars, or anything like that?

Sorry, very good question.

No. We are just going to use some from the recommended garage. I am thinking the M3 and the Tamora for sure. Maybe an FF, just to show off driving with understeer.

And on standard tracks, such as Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, and on home tracks.

Sounds fun to me. Certainly we could all show off the projects we're working on, but, it shouldn't be necessary. I like the recommended car racing anyway. :)

I probably cannot make Friday, so would you be able to post the replay files for me and others to download and watch when available?

Yes. I'll post them to Dropbox, as well as posting a Google Doc with race results and lap times.

Not sure what you guys think, but, I went with the grayscale (colour) theme I signed up for, with red, just so that everything would show up, and because of the red seats and brake calipers... Not that they show up well.

To save space, I just gave a little clicky link. Right click, "Open in new tab."

I don't think the links worked. I tried to fix it. Hope that helps :)

Just a reminder, tonight will be exhibition races. They will be held in the SNAIL_Division2 lounge. If you have not already, send a friend request.

Tonight is completely optional, and everyone is invited. It is specifically for the drivers, so if the room fills up and we have a driver that can't make it in, I'll ask a tuner to leave.

I really don't imagine that will happen.

I will post results and the replay files online for the tuners that can't make it.

We will try to have five little 10 minute races. We will have a 10 minute qualifying for the first race. Each subsequent race will be reverse grid, but we will have about six minutes for each race to warm up.

All cars will come from the recommended garage, with tuning prohibited. I think I can set the tire level, right? So I will set the tires to one grade better than they come with stock. That should mean we are racing mostly on sports hard and sports medium tires for the evening.

The schedule:
  1. Volvo C30 R-Design '09 at Circuito de Madrid / Reverse
  2. Volvo C30 R-Design '09 at Cote d' Azur
  3. BMW M3 Coupe '07 at Deep Forest Raceway Reverse
  4. TVR Tamora '02 at Trial Mountain
  5. TVR Tamora '02 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca

The first two races will be in a car with understeer, on twisty courses. These will also be very close-quarter courses, so we can display driving in traffic. Please, be nice. Follow the OLR and practice good racecraft. And remember, being faster than the car infront of you does not entitle you to pass them. If you don't have a passing opportunity, then you'll have to wait.

The third should've been in something like an S2000, but I couldn't find anything like that in the recommended garage. Still, of the three cars, the M3 will have the best turn in and be the best balanced.

The fourth and fifth races are in a TVR. TVR is Russian for "oversteer" (Trevcar was just a ruse). I hope the Tamora lives up to that reputation. I should disable ABS for this race, since the car doesn't come with ABS, but... I won't.

Is SNAIL_DIVISION2 an account that I should add, or just your lounge name? I added the account under your American flag thing.

And, depending on how soon the ALMS race ends (9 P.M. start) I may come a little late. I'll be sure to watch the Madrid reverse race, if not take part in it.

SNAIL_Division2 is the S.N.A.I.L. League account Vol will be using to run the test races. His Tuesday Parity event is run under the S.N.A.I.L. banner.

If you want to watch some drivers or run some races, you'll need to add it. zer05ive will see the request and accept it later today.
