Just a reminder, tonight will be exhibition races. They will be held in the
SNAIL_Division2 lounge. If you have not already, send a friend request.
Tonight is completely optional, and everyone is invited. It is specifically for the drivers, so if the room fills up and we have a driver that can't make it in, I'll ask a tuner to leave.
I really don't imagine that will happen.
I will post results and the replay files online for the tuners that can't make it.
We will try to have five little 10 minute races. We will have a 10 minute qualifying for the first race. Each subsequent race will be reverse grid, but we will have about six minutes for each race to warm up.
All cars will come from the recommended garage, with tuning prohibited. I think I can set the tire level, right? So I will set the tires to one grade better than they come with stock. That should mean we are racing mostly on sports hard and sports medium tires for the evening.
The schedule:
- Volvo C30 R-Design '09 at Circuito de Madrid / Reverse
- Volvo C30 R-Design '09 at Cote d' Azur
- BMW M3 Coupe '07 at Deep Forest Raceway Reverse
- TVR Tamora '02 at Trial Mountain
- TVR Tamora '02 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
The first two races will be in a car with understeer, on twisty courses. These will also be very close-quarter courses, so we can display driving in traffic. Please, be nice. Follow the
OLR and practice good
racecraft. And remember, being faster than the car infront of you does not entitle you to pass them. If you don't have a passing opportunity, then you'll have to wait.
The third should've been in something like an S2000, but I couldn't find anything like that in the recommended garage. Still, of the three cars, the M3 will have the best turn in and be the best balanced.
The fourth and fifth races are in a TVR. TVR is Russian for "oversteer" (Trevcar was just a ruse). I hope the Tamora lives up to that reputation. I should disable ABS for this race, since the car doesn't come with ABS, but... I won't.
