I remember hearing there would be a feature to directly upload replays to YouTube, so...does it exist? Or has anyone found a way to ave a replay to a flash drive from the system or something?
If not, I guess I'll buy a capture card or something, then again, the good ones start at $150 so I guess I'll just sit back and hope it comes as an update.

EDIT:
Just now thought about something, that B-Spec anywhere thing is supposed to come as an update sometime December apparently. My guess is there will be a dedicated GT5 site for controlling that and storing your replays, then you could just upload them from there. That's just speculation, but it seems like a solid idea to me.

Haven't found the feature yet either, here's to hoping an update will fix that.

Apparently they're still working the issues out of the servers at the moment. They probably disabled it for now while they get that done.

Where is the option to upload YouTube videos as promised? As it stands now, I don't see any way to upload our replays.

@ Bogie, read the post above you...
I did read that. Who, what, when, where and why was that said? I didn't see anything official other than the comment from a forum member.

And if it's disabled, doesn't there need to be a menu item to ENABLE it in the first place? I don't see any such menu item.

Well no, there doesn't need to be an option already in place. They can add entirely new cars via update, so a simple button in a menu can't be all that tough. They're going to be adding that B-spec anywhere thing some time this month, and there's no button for that yet.

Kaz already said he's not sure whether or not they will add it, so it is possible.

IIRC Kaz said in one of the post launch interviews the Youtube thing isn't going to happen due to memory issues.

This whole youtube thing not being in the game really sucks. That is one of the features I was looking forward to the most.

"The YouTube replay upload feature had to be pulled from the final version of the game because it took a very long time to render and it consumed too much memory. Yamauchi is still considering it, however."

Sooo, it's still a possibility. Personally I think it'd be sweet, but they've got hordes of more important fixes to deal with first, and that's a fact!

Personally, I think the "Upload to YouTube" feature, if it is ever patched in, will end up being a sour disappointment. Probably 240p and 10 minute maximum.

Processing 30 minutes of full HD video, even for a modern multi-core processor desktop computer could take an hour or more and consume huge amounts of disk space. The PS3 would probably be sitting there in the XMB, humming and smoking for double or triple that.

The only hope of this really working properly would be to export the movies through to a Sony server where it's processed into raw video and then uploaded to YouTube.

They should limit the video to 10 minutes, isn't that the maximum length for standard YouTube accounts anyway? That's like 95% of their audience.

Just Cause 2 manages fine with that amount. It renders in a perfectly acceptable quality if you choose to export to XMB, but lowers it for the YouTube upload. PD could learn a thing or two from this game. Hell, even if they implemented a screen that said "Videos may take up to 10 minutes to render" people would use it, I'm sure most people know this stuff isn't instant.

It can be there in the background and they can just add an update to add the button to one of the menus. There was a game in the last year that you had to pay for the online mode and the update was tiny so most people believe the code was there on the disc from day one and the download was just a key to unlock it. I can't remember what game it was though.

I personally don't think it's on the disc, they must have realised early on that it wasn't feasible and dropped it instead of leaving code on the disc that was useless.

I'm sure if its added it will be in reasonable quality. Id prefer if there was a replay exporter and then you could upload the video from your PC.

It's actually 15 minutes now. They had the "upload to youtube" feature in the game but for some reason they had to take it off. There might be a patch so we can get it in the game. New patches coming soon !
