I was just wondering what everyone thinks of their daily driver? I personaly drive a 1995 Honda Prelude Si and I love it. Everytime I drive it, it puts a smile on my face IMO it is the perfect car, good handling comfortable ride, fairly quick (little 4 banger is pretty peppy), it gets 25-27mpg 👍 and its fun to drive.

Well, depends.

During the summer I drive my mom's Subie Outback a lot (since she doesn't need it), and I love it: Great handling for a tall wagon, everything just works, 6-CD changer, and best of all, that little boxer engine. There's really nothing like listening to that wonderful engine when executing a 5-3 downshift in traffic to scoot away. My only gripe is that the clutch is a bit worn, and I occasionally have trouble placing it in first.

My truck, which I use during the school year (and the car that is officially "mine"), well, I'm not so hot about. At least it drives, and has nice cloth seats (leather = bad in southern california heat), and has enough torque to pull along 75 mph in fifth going up the grapevine. But that's about the extent that I like it. It's no fun in the twisties (duh, it's a truck), the shifter is about fifty feet long, the A/C is permanently broken (broken A/C = really bad in southern california heat), it doesn't have a CD player, the engine's about as harmonious as a fat man choking on Listerine, and the transmission gives me hell every once in a while. For example, today it kept sporadically grinding in second (and giving a slam), so I had to try heaving the stupid thing around by skipping second and doing a straight 1-3 upshift. Needless to say, the engine didn't appreciate that.

I have a 2004 Mercedes CLK55 AMG with an aftermarket supercharger from Kleemann Tuning. Before the supercharger, my car had 362 horsepower; after the supercharger it's 555. Without launching my car with 362 horsepower, I was able to run a 14.019 second quarter mile; with the addition of the supercharger and with moderate launches (with traction control on) I can now run 12.558 - with a full tank of gas. I'm hoping that can improve by about a second by fooling around with the traction control and losing some weight with all that gas. I love my car. I've owned nearly forty and this has been the best by a long measure. I've had it a year and a half and have absolutely no plans to get rid of it at any time in any near future ever.

My wife has a 2003 Audi S6. When it was built, it was the quickest station wagon ever built; it's still the fastest. Myself and my wife don't complain about the vehicle; it serves its purpose nicely and it's a quick grocery-getter. I love the interior, but I wish the control panel were nicer. We also have a 1993 GMC Typhoon. I like it very much, but when you get right down to it, I only keep it around because I like how rare it is. Otherwise, I already have a two-door vehicle that's more luxurious and quite a bit quicker. Still, Ty is the quickest factory SUV ever built, and it's twelve years old.

We also have a Volkswagen which we bought like a month ago and we're getting rid of soon. I told my wife we didn't need the damn car and she disagreed. I want to get a brand new 545i to serve as our new car since we're in the process of getting a new house and those two things go together. I found two perfect ones, but new 545is are so damn expensive for what they are, so I'm reconsidering.

That's my life right now.

When I'm not blowing the diff: sometimes.

For the record I drive a '97 Ford Escort GLX wagon. It makes 64kW. It revlimits at 6200rpm. It isn't a race car but I do push it to it's limits (hence the spiders gears from the diff sitting in a box on the kitchen table).

It isn't fast enough to get me in too much trouble (the fastest I've ever gotten it up to is 180km/h and it took a while). It should be good for an 18 second quarter mile.

The seat is comfy, the radio (installed by yours truely) is brilliant and it doesn't smell funny.

My other daily driver on the other hand, is a peice of ****.

1987 Ford Laser: 49kW of 1.3L 3 speed automatic madness. It's nice to drive an auto for a change and that's about all. 0-100km/h in 21 seconds.

My mechanic has sourced a gearbox so I'm just waiting for his word to get it installed 👍

Nice cars M5, you must be absolutely rolling in money.

Back on topic, I lurve my 1982 VW Golf Gti, it's a great little car. The 1.8L 115hp pulls very hard because it weighs next to nothing. Granted, the quickest vehicle I've ever been in was a 210hp turbo Nissan saloon so I don't have very much to compare it to speed wise but top speed isn't the Golf's forte, it's bloody good fun to fang along some winding roads out in the country.

I've owned couple of cars like that. Hopefully my next car will have that kind of effect on me......

Holy crap! What are you, made out of money!?

I own a 1984 Porsche 944 and I love this car so so much! All I hear is good things about them, also I hear the bad... therfore...

Its for sale! :dopey: .... *cries* :( ya... me and dad thought we were up to owning one, were not.

But I will get his 1987 RX-7, and I am Fine with that! YEEEHAAAWWW!

I own a Civic LX Sedan 94, great MPG and decent handling (probably because it goes so damn slow). But other than that I hate this peice of crap and cant wait to get my next car.

Well my cars are not running at the moment, I am slowly working on that problem.

Check sig for more info on one of them.

2001 NIssan Sentra SE, just got her about a month ago....absolutley love the car, quick enough, fantastic gas mileage, nice 5 speed, great factory stereo and sunroof, factory LSD keeps me grounded around the quick corners, and a nice tight suspension...LOVE it ! ( esp when my previous car was 10 years older, had a bigger engine that made less power and was economically worse for fuel consumption ! )

With a full tank of gas my car runs the same. 👍 Did I mention it only has 300rwhp? (I should also mention it weighs a lot less) If that is 555 wheel hp, you are doing something wrong to be that slow. If that's at the crank, how did you come up with that number? What was the trap speed on your 12.5 run?

Did you ever decide what to get next?

I've got a 2003.5 Infiniti G35 Coupe with 19'' Volk GT-C's, and I absolutely LOVE my car! Handling is sharp and crisp (especially with the wheels), there's more than enough power, the exhaust note is sweet and distinct, the interior is much nicer than a 350z, it's practical, gets good gas mileage, easy to live with, girls love it, and it turns heads everywhere it goes. What more could you ask for? :D

Not sure, but that sounds rather sweet.

I'm driving a 2002 Nissan SER Spec V. It's actually a pretty slick little car. 4 doors are convienent. It's got more torque then most 6 cylinder cars and LSD and the skidpad is about .88(which I abuse on a regular basis :sly: ). The only downside is the ride. Kinda ruff with the 215/45/17's on it. So, it has great grip, but the stiff suspension lets you feel everything...even the things you don't want to. :dopey:

Overall, it's a fun car to drive. Kind of a sleeper since most people think it's a regular Sentra. :sly:

Well i'm not so fortunate with my cash situation so i get by day to day with my Honda Civic 96 EK hatch 1.4 16v - pushes out a fine 90bhp for such small engine - i love my car tho - only thing ever been replaced on it is the normal items which wear - breaks - tyres - wipers - bulbs, not one thing else!

Hopefully soon enough i will be able to afford a new car - i will be getting a Honda Integra Type-R in white! sooooo nice!!!!

Nice ride swift ! I love my sentra...I tried the XE ( 1.8 ) but it had nothing on the SE ( 2.0 ) esp. tight handling. Mine has the 55 series tires, which like you say, are a little rougher in the ride dept, but damn they grip nice ! I can just imagine how much tighter the Spev V is !

our car now, a 98 or 99 Explorer XLT, is alright. I like it for what it is. Can't say i'm huge on fords, but I think we have the best looking american SUV in south florida. It's very clean and low mileage, and has an awesome bugfender.

So yeah, I'm pretty asthetically pleased. However, the times i've driven it have been kind of awkward. I don't know if it's because it's an SUV, but the throttle responds quite slowly. It's obviously an SUV, so no crazy moves or "weekend fun" or whatever. The belts fell off the next morning after we got back from an orlando roadtrip, so that was kind of scary, too.

Nevertheless, i still like the car. it's not bad, but I wouldn't doubt there is better.

1998 saturn sw1...

I don't like having an auto wagon with a terrible sound system but I think some day I'll look back and be glad I had a nice reliable stuff hauler.

I'm one those guys drooling at G35 Coupes. Sedans look fine, Coupes are just so beautiful, I can't help it.

Yes, I like my cars, alot. I think 0-200km/h in 11.5 seconds is quite good for a daily driver. I also like my other car which is a classic one. I take it for a ride maybe once a week during summer.

No it isn't nor it wasn't.

No, not really, it's a bit ****. The model of car is fine, the condition of the one I have isn't.

And Quattro is right, the Audi S6 was never the quickest station wagon ever built, I can name a few off the top of my head including the Aston Martin V8 Vantage shooting brake.

:grumpy: It's falling apart and has no power but damn it, I've always loved driving it! It sounds sooo nice now that there is a hole in the exhaust too! :D and having 27 mpg don't hurt either. :dopey:

Still have the 2004 BMW 330i ZHP (Performance Package/M-Sport II). Still enjoying it. I've been thinking of changing the rear end from the CAFE inspired 3.07 to a more aggressive 3.46 from a Z4. I have a CAI that should fit, but haven't gotten off my lazy butt to do the swap, it being about 6000 degrees outside.

Car still handles awesome. I'm starting to miss having an LSD, though, as my M3s had a very good unit. For a German car, the A/C blows nice and cold. I love the Alcantara interior. Still looks sharp and way cooler than leather or vinyl.

Very happy with Bimmer No. 5.

We just got the wife a 2005 Nissan Murano SL w/Touring Package. I have to admit I really like the stupid thing. It has most of the traditional SUV virtues without having many of the traditional drawbacks. Drives and handles like a good sedan. Doesn't wobble when pushed hard and is surprisingly stable at the limit. Truly excellent brakes for a two-ton vehicle on crappy all-season touring tires. Lots of room all over and looks really sharp to boot.

Our car has the trick keyless entry and seat memory option. Super cool. Now the wife doesn't complain about me changing her seat and mirror settings when I drive her car.

The A/C doesn't blow very cold air, though. Plus there's a silly little airscoop under the CVT transmission that draws extra air across the cooling fins.

Problem is that if you're not careful, you'll smack it against stuff in the road you think you'll clear. 60 bucks later, you'll remember the Murano only has about 8.5 inches of ground clearence.

Just finished the brake-in period and discovered Car and Driver's 7.5 second 0-60 run was not overly optimistic at all. This thing scoots. I think we'll keep it.

I'm saving up money for a 94'-97' Camaro Z-28. Right now I've got $3100 and my dad is goin' to give me $2000 more cuz that's what he gave my sister. The only problem with my plan is I need to work up $2000-$2500 more to buy a Z-28 that is in good condition.

555 at the crank, according to Kleemann's Website; they do the conversion for a lot of people I guess. I don't remember the trap speed offhand - the timeslip is back home in Michigan and I'm in Colorado - but I'll post it within the next couple days. Next week I think I'm going to run the car up here at 8000ft (hopefully with less gas :D).

What do you drive?

No it isn't nor it wasn't.

It was the quickest on the US market until the 2005 E55 AMG, and its top speed is 155mph, same as the E55 AMG, making it the fastest. Before you go off shouting about how wrong I am and how right you are, please keep in mind that the US didn't get either the RS2 or the RS6 Avant.

And Quattro is right, the Audi S6 was never the quickest station wagon ever built, I can name a few off the top of my head including the Aston Martin V8 Vantage shooting brake.

Come on. That's not a station wagon, was never sold on the market (let alone the consumer market), and probably wasn't even imported to the US.

You didn't say in your earlier post that you were talking about US market.

I don't get why I have to say "US market" when my location already shows that I live in the US just for the purposes of other members who live outside the US. I've had this argument numerous times. Ever = US market, and market = consumer market. Cars that cost a lot and aren't sold here don't count.
