So, tomorrow i get my PS3. I can't wait! Gonna get a DFGT and GT5 right outta the gates. Played from 2-prologue, and got to play a lil bit of 5 at a friends house. My question is, i may have to drive about an hour to get my DFGT, is it worth it to the extent that i should definately get the DFGT? Would a cheaper wheel work as well?

Thanks in advance!

The closest store i can find to my location that shows them in stock online, is a Gamestop around an hours drive away. Listed at roughly 130.00 before taxes and the like. The money isnt that big a problem just wanted to see if it was really worth the extra compared to a plain jane wheel as it were.

Just excited to get to play it finally. I've been stuck in Forza 3 noob drifting hell for the past forever..... and while not a bad game, its definately no GT. The physics of GT are enough to get me hooked so, i can overlook the technical difficulties everyone brings up about it.

Will be nice to be able to play a race game that isn't, as i consider, "for noobs".... just my 2 cents though i guess. Guess i'll be making that trip tmw evening ^^

get the DFGT...I almost made a mistake by buying the farrari wheel for 40 bucks...but it didnt come with pedals and no force feedback, so i saved for another month or so and got the GT...great investment.

Dfgt is solid, feels same quality as G27 to me. I've owned both. Plus less wires and full ps3 controls right on the wheel.

Well, i guess that sums it up. Ive heard very very little bad about this wheel and naught but good otherwise. Definately making the trip tomorrow to pick her up. I look forward to racing/drifting with you all! And thanks for the feedback, cheers!

Not to deter you from getting it or anything, but why wouldn't you order it online (amazon?), and save the hour's worth of gas? You get free shipping (2 day free with prime).

Impatience i guess.....lol. Really no other answer other than that. But i think its worth the 10bucks in gas to get it today instead of waiting for 2 more days. I'm a big kid at heart so yeah lol.

Go local for it. Returns go smoother, just in case.

Depends on the vendor. I've had zero problems returning and getting a new item within the week from amazon and newegg.

And I understand about the getting it now. I've driven an hour just for more move controllers since that is the closest place that had them. Amazon was telling me a month before they got more stock when i ordered and no way was I paying $70 from a vendor...

The only place I can find a wheel I can afford (Logitech DFGT) is from really obscure online shops with a record of about 20 max sales.
I'm close to cracking up.

Am using DFGT i think its awsome. U can drift race much better thene control. And the forcefeedback Works perfect if u ask me. Am thinking of upgrading to Porche GT3 180 Euro i havent found better wheel thene that one inc the expensive New Gt5 Wheel. Pedals with Abs feel on the breaks "Grrrrrrh" (Homer thinking abut donuts sound) That must be the best wheel for the money. Going to order second i get money! But I still love DFGT its rly awsome for the price

sooo been a long day, but got my system now and got back from my drive to get the dfgt. i did ONE lap with the wheel on trial mountain and OMG... i forgot how unforgiving this game is lol. I love it though. I get to retrain myself away from all that noobish forza crap now. And not saying forza is bad, but its physics are SEMI-sim at best. Installing GT to my hdd with approx 15 min left, already updated, and ready rock! and thanks again for all your answers guys^^ Happy driving!:)

I don't know about in Virgina but up in Toronto Wal Mart had the DFGT going cheaper than everywhere else by at least $10.

Hope you like it as much as I did. :)

question though, anyone elses DFGT slightly and randomly apply the break when not even touching it? On the brake pressure gauge, it shows mine rapidly jumping up and down..... doesnt to up to maybe 1/8th but its annoying

Ive heard of that happening but havent had it happen to me (knock on wood).

You should have thought about getting the Fanatec. Works with both the 360 and PS3 since I assume you have both consoles. That way you'd get to play properly on both consoles.

GT5 is extremely fun in the first ~23 levels, after that the grinding begins. But it isn't THAT bad, it took me a good month and a half to get that high, it is extremely fun. After that it is still fun to just buy random desirable cars and do seasonal events to keep progressing while still having fun. Also, try kart racing online. It builds skill in correcting spins and competitive play. The races are also short, in case you have to go somewhere or will get bored. B-Spec is, albeit not as much, still very fun. It goes by a lot slower, but it is fun imitating the people in F1 races at the monitors who facepalm every time a crash happens. Enjoy the game!!

Thumbs up if you agree with me.

Mine does this, just buy a 8 pack of cheapass sponges from Wal Mart and put them under the brake pedal. I put them under both for more resistance. Just add or remove/fold sponges as you see fit.

Shouldn't do that. I would consider return/exchange.

Not to try and jinx your explerience or anything, but please check back in and let us know how it's going in a month or around level 25... it will be interesting to hear how you feel about how things pan out.
