It's not about disagreeing with you, nor is it about your love for the 360 which you are definitely entitled to feel that way. It is in fact that you have posted several things that were plainly and simply untrue... and I have already posted countless times showing my download times of content and updates off the PSN, and compared to what you claimed you were able to download off the 360, it was already faster. Not only that, but I took a great deal of time to try and help you figure out what was wrong with your router or network settings, but that clearly was waste of my time.
Not only that, while I have clearly explained why it is very much possible for multiple devices on the same network to have different download speeds due to problems with the router. If you have already forgotten, I already posted a link in this thread to one of many times I have explained it, and offered advice on how to fix it.
Bottom line, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that if the majority of people downloading content off the PSN are doing so at or near the max limit that their ISP allows and on a regular basis, then those who are not clearly have an issue with their network, router, settings, etc.
You can make an effort to fix it, or just keep complaining about something that is in your control. So far it appears, assuming you are even being truthful about your download speeds, which I highly doubt considering how many times you have said things about the PS3 that were not true, and exaggerated the facts to suit your agenda, I suspect you'll continue to do the later.
Well first of all price is an issue otherwise why did it come up, and second of all I never said it was better, and in fact I have posted on several occasions that XBL in terms of the ease at which it is to join your friends has been and remains much better than the PS3, and have also said I understand why many people do not have an issue with paying $50 a year for the service.
However, that's a far cry from someone saying point blank that the PSN is dire, and compared to Live it's terrible or that the PSN is not entirely unusable... which are absurd comments when in fact it it's proven to be more stable than XBL over the last 12 months, with several of the games being hosted on dedicated servers and not just P2P like on XBL.
In addition, the PSN offers many nice features that are lacking in XBL, and those comments are even more absurd based on the fact that you can effectively do many of the things you have claimed are not even possible... heck even Moglet admitted that you can invite and communicate with friends on PSN, something you apparently are still convinced isn't possible.
Look, I'm going to keep responding as long as people keep posting false claims, but make no mistake about it, seeing as you have never even admitted to posting false information about the PS3 before, I don't expect you to now, or no matter what hoops you would like me to jump through for your amusement.
All I would ask is you to realize that you do a disservice to this site and all of its members when you knowingly post false, misleading or inaccurate posts and yes, exaggerations are exactly that.
First off. I tried everything that I could possibly do to fix my network issues. I spent hours on the phone with my ISP, sony, and linksys. None had an answer for me.
I now use a straight lead to my modem to download content off of psn. It boosts me clear up to 1.5 mb download. No one in my town that I know can get above a 3 mb upload with the ps3. Maybe it's our ISP. We have all tried everything we can think of. One of has a job setting up networks for cosi(a science exhibit museum)and he also trouble shoots and sets up the networks of a local college. If it could be fixed, he could fix it.
Second, I do not post false claims or lies, as you are so willing to claim. I post my experiences that I have had with the 360 and the ps3. Just because you do not agree with them, does not make them false.
Third, I would like to know how you send invites to friends, that they can accept from the xmb, and follow you into a game. I would also like to know why you won't admit that you can not chat with people outside of the xmb, unless you are both in the same game. The only way I can communicate with someone outside of my game, is through texting. That is stone age as far as online gaming goes.
Where did you get your info, that the psn has been more stable then xbox live in the last 12 months. I have had no trouble at all with the 360's p2p game hosting. The only time I have ever had trouble with xbox live, was during christmas last year. That was resolved in a matter of days. Have you played the new socom. That game has major issues, and it is one of the playstations flagship games. Don't get me wrong though, I do love socom, but it is the buggiest game I have ever played. The lag is also the worst on a next gen game yet.
Have you also noticed that you are the only one that defends the psn like you do. I just wish you would realize, that the psn has some major problems. I am not saying it is worthless, it just is behind xbox live, and it has problems.
If someone wants to get a great online experience, and play nearly lag free, user friendly games, with many online features the 360 is the way to go. If a person wants a media hub, blu-ray player, and decent online experience, then the ps3 is the way to go.
Each has their ups, and each has their downs. The 360 though is definitely ahead in the online gaming experience. While the ps3 is much more media friendly, while still being a great gaming console. I know that, that is something that you can't disagree with. If you do, you will lose all credibility, when speaking about the 2 consoles.
Anyway, I will try and steer clear of your 360 vs ps3 debates. This one has gotten out of control, and is consuming way to much of my time. Neither of us can be persuaded to see the others way. It's really weird, how 2 people can have such different opinions on such a subject. I think that you are really just being rude and stubborn, while you probably feel the same way toward me. I guess that's the beauty of the internet.
I want you to know that I do not hate the ps3. I argue with my 360 fanboy buddies all the time when they say the ps3 is garbage. My only thing I have against it is it's online. Everything else is great. I love to stream music, videos, pictures, and such from my macs. It works much better then the 360. Really everything about the ps3 is better, except the psn.
Good luck with your mission of ps3 dominance. Maybe I will see you on gt5p if private rooms are ever created.
There will be no arguing over who wins there.
