So I got a PSP 1001 for $20 today.

Yeah.

So here's the issues:

-Small crack in case at top right corner of screen (screen not damaged, everything shows up properly despite crack)

-Can't connect to my home connection. It detects it correctly and all but kicks back an error when I try to test or actually connect. Router is a Linksys WRT54G.

I need halp on the 2nd one, the case doesn't concern me as it's completely cosmetic.
 
Probably a problem with the Wifi board. Without knowing what motherboard revision it is, I can't tell you what to do.

You can swap the faceplate (I assume its the faceplate) if the crack bothers you, by the way.
 
Crack it open and look for the series number on the PCB. As I understand it, some wifi boards have more problems than others in the Phat, so knowing the mobo series could help determine the revision of wifi board you have.
 
Nicely done, what a cheap find. I bought mine second hand for 220 a little while after they came out and sold it about 2 years ago. It was the psp 1000 as well.
 
Cheap indeed but that doesn't stop me wanting to hack it :lol:

Thing is I can't without a Pandora battery and ANOTHER memstick. And cost is already up to about $60. :s
 
Hehe, I hacked mine all the way hen I had it. Custom firmwares with stuff I cant really mention on here, you could do so much with a hack psp. I had fun using cheat device on both the GTA games and I had the GTA LCS that allowed you to revert firmware IIRC.

Anyway, it was all great fun.

$60 USD for a portable music + video player with 4gb storage is epic enough. Also got MOH: Underground off the PSN store.

Now I guess I wait for a 6.00 CFW.
 
Damn, when I had mine the latest custom firmware was something like 3.0...wait I'll dig it up on one of my first ever posts on the planet.

Found it! Its actually in the GT2 thread a few threads below this one. Apparently I had 3.40ea custom firmware.

EDIT: Crap....double post, I meant to edit my other one.
 
So I've got MOH Underground off the PS store. Plays correctly and it's awesome to go back through it but my god PSP controls are a pain to make work correctly with it :lol:
