So, we bought tickets for the Incubus show in Cleveland during the presale 3 months ago. We were pumped to go. It was this Saturday. We left Champaign, IL Saturday morning and drove 233 miles to Cincinnati, since it was where my friend lived. We got some eats at Skyline Chili and then we set off for Cleveland. 250 miles later, we got there. We were extremely pumped, we even played the song "Cleveland Rocks" by The Presidents of the USA. We stop at my friends place where we were going to spend the night and dropped our stuff off. We then set off to the Agora theater, a small place with only a 2000 or so people capacity. It was going to be fantastic.

So we pull up to the parking lot, and there is a guy in an SUV waving us in. He tells us that the concert was postponed. Someone in the band was sick. The morale in the car went through the floor. We drove nearly 500 miles to see a band we all wanted to see (my favorite band) and find it was for nothing. So, we decided to make the trek back to Cinci to chill and my friends place.

The new concert date is still TBA. It seems we got an email saying it was postponed at 9:30 AM saturday. We had left from Champaign at 8:30...

But it looks like we probably won't be able to see them now, since this trip was expensive and time consuming. We're probably going to have to scalp the tickets for the next date...

Unfortunate. We drove nearly 1000 miles to see a huge name band only to be horribly dissapointed.

:(

That sucks bad especially considering the weather has been terrible for driving. At least you had a fun road trip with your friends and didnt break down. Hopefully you can at least get your money back form the tickets.

That's what friends are for, to be with you even on this seriously sucking moments. Sorry to hear about that though.

Maaaan, thats so bad! God i really feel for ya. Thankfully this hasn't happened to me before.. But i'm sure i've just Jinxed myelf!

Wouldn't it have been easier to fly 500 miles? I thought short hall flights were pretty common in the US.

We're college kids. Road trips are in our blood.

Yeah, the trip was a lot of fun. The 16 hours in the car flew by and I was never really tired. Honda Accords are rather comfy 👍

It never snowed, but it was horribly cold and windy. Wind Chills were like -20F.

Now that bites the big one, sorry to hear. Haven't had it happen to me before, but it has happened to friends (everything from "rained out" to "sickness"). Hopefully you get your money back, and if not, atleast you and your friends have a story to tell.

You don't fly when it's 500miles on a way to a concert with your buddies! :D

I'm so sorry, Event. That's just so unblievably dissapointing. I've missed only one concert due to band postponing. Snow Patrol couldn't fly in last summer from U.K., when those liquid bomb terrorists were getting busted.

It was supposed to be held at the local festival that was about 30 minutes from my apartment, plus it was stamp on your hand type event, so no tickets were sold or anything.

Take this as a sign: Stop listening to Incubus.

Damn, sounds like it was a total non-Event... :indiff:

Hopefully when the replacement gig is announced, you might be able to muster together the time, the money and the energy to go again.

I would contact everyone involved with the concert from promoters, the venue, to the band's Web site, whoever you can find connected to it to see about getting the tickets refunded.

If it is a sold out show and they are decent tickets you can sell a t-shirt on Ebay and say that if the price goes over a certain amount you will throw in free tickets. That is the legal way to scalp. At least it was legal when Hillary Clinton "gave away" U2 tickets if you donated over $1000 for a plate at a dinner.

A good friend will bail you out of jail. A true friend will be sitting in jail with you saying, "Damn, that was something." Or in this case, a true friend will drive all over the flatest, most boring parts of the country with you for no reason whatsoever.

 Ohio was pretty boring, except for the Cincinattia area, where there were actually hills! :o Indiana and Illinois are always boring though.... :indiff:
