There have been lots of connection problems lately in my nightly room. There have always been a couple or so regulars that sometimes couldn't see others on the track, but lately it seems many more have had the problem. When people had that problem, they would leave and come back and everything would be fine. Now that does not work all the time like it used to.
So I was thinking about changing to a fixed host room.
The other night I ran the room fixed host, and everything was great. Everyone saw each other. The black screen right before the races start, was nearly nonexistent. After the races no one got booted by the system. No one got stuck loading or with binoculars next to their name. It was the smoothest the room I have ever run.
Last night I ran another fixed host room and after about an hour and a half things went south fast. The last race I didn't even race in because I only saw two people on the track, even though there were actually 12.
I don't even know how that is possible. I was under the impression that in a fixed host room, everyone's PS3 communicated only with the host's.
The room was full. The PS3 is hardwired to the router, and NAT 2. I used the recommended race quality, standard.

Has anyone else had trouble with fixed host rooms? How can all that race data be passing through my PS3 without me even seeing it?
