GT6 should be more about gameplay than graphics. GT5's engine is future proof. Other than some tweaks and enhancements, it's all there. We just need better hardware.

I'm hoping PD puts their time on new ideas. Creating a huge community rivaling that of the "other game". One game I think they should take notes from is iRacing. Every month or 2, events will change for the special events section. A-Spec events will be fully online. If there is no connection, AI will take over.

Players will all have stats for specific areas:

Driving habits
Wins and losses
style
best and most played racing type(Le Mans, JGTC, F1, Karts, etc.)

Tracks:
best times
track with most wins
track with most mistakes
tracks with most perfect laps

Skills:
overtaking
drifting

Most of these will all add up to the player's ranking points. Every 1000 points, the player reaches "prestige"(or whatever it will be called".

Your rank lowers if you drive dirty.

This will allow for a great matchmaking system where players can be matched with players of their own racing class. Filtering the weak from the strong.

Some of this is interesting, and worth some thought. The first issue I point though is what happens if I want to do a career event bit nobody else is at the time, I don't want to have to wait for it to find other players to fill up my race and then wait for it to load AI drivers when it finds nobody. So the online career races really won't work in my opinion.

However I like the idea of scoring and ranking drivers based on every event game wide (with the exception of arcade obviously). This would make finding an online lobby a much more rewarding process, you could immediately tell what rooms are full of yobos and which are full of actual racers. But If you're scoring Off line events in such a manor then that necessitates a much better AI to accompany it and make it a meaningful ranking.

And I see you mentioned matchmaking. No. Just no. Matchmaking systems have no place in racing games, they were used exclusively in Forza 3 and public online racing became 95% pointlee as a result. Instead how about a way to sort online lobbys by average ranking, as well as the usual criteria. Also for this to work you would need to add an option to open an "un-scored room" because even the most serious sim racer may want to just goof around every once in a while.

One last point. Drifting should not be part of this score, it is a very specific skill and something most people have no interest in. Have a drift ranking by all means if you like but it should be sepperate.
