Apart from that:
A Concept-Car challenge. All opponents and you drive a Concept-Car (VGT, Concepts etc).
Cup-Car Challenge. All drive Cup cars such as the Beetle, Lupo etc. Cars of One-Make series.
Just had some fun running a Renault 5 turbo (Stock - Road version) with ABS=0 and no traction control - in the wet. Well something has to fill that big reservoir (The land to the south of the track is the wettest in all of Spain, not the plain, apparently.)
Low power means you won't be going turbo nutter speeds... but comfort tyres and lots of water means you have to be smooth as a silk or you will end up covered in damp sand.
Anything! Love this challenge! I wish we could do all races this way. I want to habitually drive clean, but the game is not conducive for this. Since GT4 we have been bumping and blocking like an old lady in rush hour...
CLEAN BONUS should be implemented into regular races. Make it worthwhile for those that race clean. Will benefit the GT community on a holistic level.
These events are so much fun. Would like to see another track or possibly a reverse version of the challenge. DEFINITELY add more car challenges with each update.

See, here is the thing that's wrong with GT.. All of us are coming up with ideas as to what car(s) we want to race around here in the classic time trials, when PD could just make the option to pick what car we want, and still give us the same prize car....
