Until the release of GT5 my PS3 was largely a BluRay player with an occasional foray into various Call Of Duty titles. Now that GT5 has come along I'm hooked again and have set up an Obutto and have a GT3 RS + CSS on the way. I have also ordered F1 2010 since I've been an F1 fan forever. Is there anything else I should try ? Any great Rally games perhaps ? Anything else ?

Thanks for your input!

Dirt 2 is okay if you can get past all "xtreme" and "bro culture", but don't expect too much rally (hill climbs, stages, etc). I prefer Dirt 1.
F1 2010 is quite good, you should enjoy that.
Modnation is really fun though obviously completely different.
There's a PSN game called Wipeout HD, also totally arcade, but fun.

Dirt 3 is coming out sometime soonish and looks promising, Shift 2 also looks somewhat promising and comes out this month.

Found NFS shift very good to play especially with my steering wheel, all other driving games seem a little less responsive to it.

Wow! Thanks for all the input folks. Looks like a LOT of late nights ahead for me :) Keep 'em coming !!!

It's comming out later this month ......... :)

Just looked at a couple trailers for Shift 2. Holy crap  Pre-ordering now!!! Not gonna get much done this afternoon researching all these great suggestions

DIRT 1 is great, when I got my PS3 kinda shortly before GT5 i bought a bunch of used games and spent a lot of time on this. Unless you *really* want the latest thing, work your way up through them as the original will cost peanuts now on eBay and is great fun.

I also got the original Motorstorm as it was cheap and i'd loved Smugglers Run on the PS2, but not got around to playing it yet.

Also I personally liked the PSN exclusive Ferrari: The Race Experience a lot, though opinion is very divided on this. Monza looks nicer than in GT5 though :)

It depends what sort of games you're into. Games that are out at the moment, F1 2010 is fantastic and Supercar Challenge is quite realistic but fairly one dimensional, while Dirt 2 and Shift are far more arcade oriented. WRC 2010 wasn't bad for a first attempt at a proper rally game, but I would wait for WRC 2011.

Coming up this year, F1 2011 should be amazing and NASCAR 2011 looks to be good too. As for Dirt 3, Shift 2 and WRC 2011, I will wait to try them first but they each look fairly promising. Despite some lucrative developer claims regarding physics, Dirt 3 and Shift 2 still look to be towards the arcade end of the scale, although Shift 2 will feature Bathurst so I will probably buy it regardless 👍

Putt-Putt joins the circus.. it best have G25/G27 support, or else!

Shift 2 is insta-buy for me, It will give me a rest from GT5.

:scared::crazy:.......:sly:

Anyway, I bought Shift and now I have Platinum Trophy on it. I'm also looking forward for TDU2 and Shift 2:)
I also like to play other genres, but for perfection, buy GTA4: a great story and sweet driving;)

Dont forget Hot Pursuit for fun and GRID!
Oh I completely forgot Hot Pursuit...and I have GRID to PC, it's a awesome game:sly:. I really like the races where you have GT2, GT1, LMP2 and LMP1 at the same time...

I never bought GRID initially but when I heard about the Bathurst DLC pack I though about picking it up. Then I watched this video on youtube and decided against it.

The physics are horrible, it looks like Mario Kart! Plus it looks as though they flattened the track out from Race Driver 3, the dipper is not nearly steep or narrow enough. Anyway, I hope Shift 2 does a better job 👍

GRID is awesome mate:) Don't judge a game for a video...it's NOT a simulator, is a mix you know.

Fair point, I'm just more a fan of sim racers. The drifting actually looks like a lot of fun, but I prefer something a bit more realistic when it comes to circuit racing.

And Bathurst has to be spot on!!! :)

Eheh I understand you:)
But I'm the opposite...I just don't find "pure" Sims that cool, like GTR2 for example. I grew up playing NFS, GTA and GT, and GT is the only "sim" that I enjoy. I just find the physics awesome (no aids of course;)). Maybe because they are more flexible, well, I don't know...I also love games like Burnout and so, they are 100% FUN:D

U can get NFS Shift pretty cheap nowdays. try get a new copy of the special edition cos it comes with sum extra races n its only a couple quid more to buy.
Race Driver GRID is another thats cheap now too altho get the Reloaded version for £16 as it comes with £12 worth of DLC included too.
If u want arcade type racinggames then teh new hotpursuit is pretty crazy but my favorite arcade racer has been BLUR and thats also really cheap.
try www.shopto.net they have sum great deals on games and free delivery (UK)

Yeah GTR and the like definitely have a much narrower focus, which is fine if that's all you're into. I like a bit of both, which is why by the end of the year I will own GT5, F1 2011, WRC 2011, NASCAR 2011, and possibly Dirt 3. Unfortunately I haven't found a game that does all of these things well (GT5 tried, but failed) so I guess I will have to fork out for all of them :)

:) And I don't believe that any time soon we will see a game that does everything with good quality. I try to focus in what I like the most. F1 2011 - Forget it:yuck: I like F1, but for me a game with just open wheels is...not cool to me. WRC 2011, I don't think so, I prefer Dirt 3. Nascar 2011 :scared: (slowly walks away and :banghead:).
