Don't bother with Walmart. Went there today. The game was in the case, had someone get it for me and took it to the counter. When they scanned it an error popped up stating the game could not be sold. I played dumb, clerk looked it up and stated he couldn't sell it until tomorrow or they would be fined (by who?). He set it aside for me, for tomorrow.

I tried my local GameStop and they would not sell me the game. I told the worker that people were receiving their GT5 game today from Amazon and some stores were sellingthem on the shelf. The worker said Gamestop would be fined $100,000.00USD by Sony if they sell the game early...maybe he pulled that number out of his ar- errrrr..hat?

The one over on 21st and I want to say campus parkway in federal way. It is the only Fred Meyer in Federal Way to my knowledge. It was very bad conditions to drive out there but it was well worth it, and I even got some beer. I popped in the disc and it asked for an update, that took 3 minutes to install and then the dialogue for installing to hdd came up. That is what I am waiting on now to finish.

I just called a store in Los Angeles to see if they were going to be selling gt5 at midnight and the stoner on the phone said to call them at four o clock today thats when they get there shipments in and I asked are you selling them then and he said yea. I will post an update after they get there shipment with the store name (dont want a million people calling them, got to get my kool aid first) thats if they are actually selling it.

Just called, they told me 5:30 or 6 but they are calling me when it arrives so it sounds for sure they are going to sell it then, the store is called Game Play on Venice, its address is 10937 Venice Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90034 I will post when I get mine.

I pretty much got the same response but at a different store. The guy said their distributor told them they would receive the shipment today.
 
i also tried that at wal-mart, got to the counter with it and got the cannot sell error when scanning haha such a tease
 
One person should make a pic of the box with the receipt next to it. Others should print that pic and go to their store. That way the game got released in the Netherlands today..
One person showed his pic on the internet. And soon most other stores sold it too..
Make sure it's a pic with a receipt from a store in your country.
 
Wish I could say that any one of the stores here in McKinney have it, but the mom'n'pop I go to won't have copies in until Wednesday for me.
 
I called up best buy and the guy wouldn't let me come in pick it up today, but he was nice enough to give me first dibs (hold a copy) for tomorrow even though I didn't pre-order from there.


EDIT: Also, they only had five CEs coming in this month total, so act quick

Now its 7:30 - 8, I have a feeling I am going to be told this until midnight. Hopefully they get it by midnight.
 
Wal mart is having a midnite release here in iowa! I have CE at gamestop waiting for me . Its hard to resist that 10hr wait.

Just gotta try and stay awake as i have been up since 5:00am and its now 9:20pm. I went to work for 10+ hours today, so im kinda bushed.

Atleast i dont work for the next couple of days......ahh the joys of thanksgiving. :)

In between laps i have to run up to the docs tomorrow for some bloodwork....ick. Oh well, atleast i know i will have GT5 waiting for me when i get back. Lucky the wife will be at work as well otherwise i dare say id be dragged around a few stores :lol:

I always buy all my games from small game store in a smallish town on the south shore of Montreal. I know the owner, and he always lets me leave with my reserved copies the day he gets them, which is usually 1-2 days ahead of the official release/sell date. Got a message on my cell that he had received it this afternoon, got extremely excited... drove there on my way home only to find he had left, and his new/random kid employee didn't want anything to do with it.

/sigh

Could have called him up personally, but I didn't wanna bother him. 10am it is!

I just called Best Buy and the girl asked me what system I wanted it on..lol.

She then came back an said "Yes sir...we do have them in stock!"...I then said..."So, I can come pick it up?"..

Then she replied "Actually...we WILL have them in stock..they don't go on sale till tomorrow".

I did this earlier today (minus the calling part) and managed to snag a copy before everyone else here. Oh, and she was a real cutie too.

Woo hoo I just got my copy, Im pretty sure the whole world except pacific time can get it now but if you live in LA go to game play on venice and get it a few hours early
 
Hah! I just called my Walmart down the street from me (Austin, TX) and asked if they were doing a midnight sale for GT5, the lady said huh!? So I explained, it's a PS3 game, but didn't mention it wasn't going on sale until tomorrow. She said oh yea I already sold one last night, I was thinking wholly hell did I just score? Then she said PS3's I mean... argh!!! But she confirmed the game is going on sale after midnight.

:lol: Dude was it that Walmart on 183 and I35? I went there, made it to the counter and got the "cannot sell yet" error.
