This is what the rest of the internet is for.

True. But here they are all layed out for me. I don't have to go searching. And the format is better.

Got my first Christmas gift today from my uncle.

Don't know what else I'm getting.

I have no freaking clue, cause my family is poorer than 🤬

At least they're still alive. Mine aren't.

On the bright side, I get to see my brother (the oldest member of our family, at 42) and his family of four the week before Christmas and I get to spend Christmas Day with my own family of four for the first time. I don't care what anybody gets me, nor even if they do or not.

So how about cheer the 🤬 up?

What a way to lift the mood. :indiff:

I'm going to have a great Christmas with my wife and kids. It's a pity my parents aren't around to see them, but that's how it is. I'm happy as, and I'm not anticipating receiving any gifts from anyone.

I can't stand it when people measure the worth of their Christmas by the value of what other people bring for them. It's about the value of other people.

I wasn't saying how Christmas is all about presents. And my mum has cancer with a Chemotherapy session 5 days before the big day, so it probably won't be the most enjoyable Christmas for me. Presents is really all I'm looking forward to after the last couple of months.

Nor was I saying you were. In fact I quoted someone else entirely...

Why not? Enjoy being with her. I can't - mine died 17 years ago, a couple of days after my 17th birthday (my dad 4 years ago next week). Yours probably won't be feeling all that great from the chemo, so enjoying some time with her kid will do more for her than anything you could buy her.

Presents is really all I'm looking forward to after the last couple of months.

Presents are just things. Sometimes they're things you want that might last a few years before being replaced. Sometimes they're things that you want that are consummable and don't even make it that far. Sometimes they're useless tat that someone bought you as a joke or because it's something you like that has a Santa on it. They're all just things - you can get more of them or replace them. Can't do that with mums.

Wise words. Thanks. :)

£800 - gaming computer - main gift.

£400 - everything else.

 That's probably my last 4 Christmas' I get around $200-400 a year for Christmas in gift costs. About $100 added for other Christmas reasons. I don't feel spoilt anymore.

I got the best present ever. Thank you toplesscouple. I get to spend time with my bro this Christmas which makes me happy too.

(mind sending me a screenshot of the babes thread?) :p

Print screen doesn't work on that specific thread, but I assure you it's wonderful. :p

Wow, Congrats on getting premo, mate. 👍 I'm rather jealous now. :indiff:

I'm kinda tired of Christmas almost just being the gifts, so I'll agree with what Famine said.

I could be wanting an iPhone 4S, a gaming computer for 9000 SEK, or whatever. It's all about the presents in the eyes of everyone I know (which hardly is surprising). I'm 14 by the way.

So I have spread it to everyone in my family that I 'do not want' 'anything'. I'd rather just meet them and have a nice time. So I presume I'll get clothes (or other thing I "need") and perhaps something else. Sorry for being so hypocritical, but that's what I want for Christmas.

The wife is getting me a Benq W7000 projector if it's released by christmas, if not then a Losi 22 1/10 scale RC buggy might be under the tree. Can never have a big enough TV or enough high end RC cars. I'll also be taking part in a few of the gifts my 5 year old son is getting. All the new super hero blue ray movies, and few cool 360 games.

Really though I just hope everything goes pretty smooth at the Christmas dinners. We have lost both of my grandmothers, and my father this year. It's been a pretty tough year for the holidays. The family keeps getting smaller and smaller. My wife has lost all of her imediate family, and I have a sister and grandfather left, so the holidays get pretty deppresing. My children will never really have any family except the wife and I, so we spoil them with gifts to make the holidays feel a little better for us.

If its off my parents then....

Off my mother and her Boyfriend

and off my father

Cost: €60

It's not too much as we are in a Recession!

I just want to see that special someone before the 24th :)

I've been wanting to see her before X-mas for a while... I hope this is the year... :) That would make December for me 👍

Dinner with my Uncle, Dad, and Gran together for the first time in 9 years. (As in the 3 of us, in the room.. together.) I see Gran loads, but my uncle lives in Korea, and Dad lives in Australia.. so I barely see them. :D

Presents wise... I think people that boast about the price of things they are getting are horrid. Its the giving, not the getting.
