I was not assuming anything, it was just a direct comparison of the cars on stock tires with max downforce. I may do it again with default downforce ... in which case I think the results will be more in favor of the Super GT car.

As for ABS ... braking in this game is nothing like reality. What they call "ABS" is not an ABS system like in a real car or racecar. IMO, the game can't simulate braking accurately so they have the "ABS" aid. Until they have accurate force feedback brake pedals, the braking in this game is just an educated guess.

ABS used or not used in series X or series Y has nothing to do with the reality of actual braking. Most street cars don't go skidding under light application of the brakes at 100 mph like they do in this game with ABS off.

Indeed...the braking in this game is definetly flawed

I want to know where you got 1.15. When I googled it the first two with actual lateral-g figures were 1.9 and 1.8.

1.9 is a bit too high even for a GT1 car so I don't think it's possible for Sprint or nationwide car. Here's the test sheet for Toyota Camry Sprint Cup car: http://bit.ly/nKcYTF

You noticed the Skid pad test is even lower at .98g although if you read in the notes at the bottom of the test sheet, the tester did state that that car can probably get as high as 1.05g with warmer tires. The 1.15g figure is the ballpark given to most Sprint car. As I've stated most of them usually test in the 1.08g.

You can easily learn to brake without ABS especially if you lower the strength and modify the brake bias. I have mine usually set to either 4(F):2(R) or 3:1 for race cars (or 1:1 for older race cars like the Alfa TZ2). I don't care so much about replicating reality but that by turning off the ABS (and once you're familiar with ABS-less braking on race cars in the game), the balance of the car and the grip from the tires make more of a difference (especially if you heed to my earlier research in regards to the latter). And ABS-less braking in GT5 in spite of its shortcoming still require more concentration and deliberation on the part of the driver which makes for a more interesting result.

With racing tires it's not actually that hard to brake without abs in the game. Just remember to ease the brake pedal when the car is slowing down.
