I talk to the majority of my friends, and they said that as soon as the PS3 was released into the wild, they ditched their old PS2s and probably sold them to LameStop (pun intended) to have them sit there and rot on shelves.
I'd never trade in my old PS2!
I don't see who would. The PS2 is still (as of 2011, possibly 2012) having a stream of developers make games for the system, though all are not worth the buy. Still, there is quite a selection of titles that you will not see on any other platforms (you can take multiplats into account if you do desire to do so).
My old launch-day PS2 that I got for the holidays died a terrible death about a couple of months ago; I actually felt a little depressed about it when the old console passed away...
However, I did purchase a used PS2 Slim console, and it has proven reliable ever since the date of purchase (even when my old fatty PS2 was still juggling my discs in and out). I just love the thing; it's a frickin' breakthrough in technology! I mean, only about a fourth of the console is actual computing hardware!
So to all of you readers out there; who has still kept this amazing game console?
