Not really, you can watch GH 1-2 times a week and keep up with most of what's going on

like 4 for TV. One for PS2 and Movies
How many episodes have you watched?
Not many recently. But we watch about 0nce a week. Used to tape the whole week of GH and OLTL when we were in college 12-15 years ago, and watch the whole thing on Saturdays.

Why is soap Opera so popular?
Because it allows people to vicariously live the lives of others, thus giving them hope that they can be better, or other people are even more mundane than themselves.
Do you get bored watching Soap operas?
No. Things that don't stimulate my mind are frustrating, rather than boring.
How would you react if you miss an episode or two?
It's usually a source of personal triumph. If I miss more than three, I run around the living room, waving my arms around, shouting "I am the Dark Lord"
