Soda spilled into keyboard...

Some of the buttons dont work, is there any way to fix them?

If the keyboard isn't water sensetive, flush it! I did that with an old keyboard I had, worked perfectly afterwards! :)

edit: that is if you meant "don't work" as in gets stuck.

When I say dont work I mean you can press them as hard as you can and it does nothing. I even removed the keys and pressed down on the rubber surface and nothing happens.

Not befor I give this thread a few days and try to flush it out, then smash it.

If you spilled soda on it very recently there might just be a short, let it dry for a few days & hope for the best :)

my uncle had a similar experience. He spilled beer on the laptop keyboard, the keys didn't work anymore. He had to buy a USB keyboard.

Have you been in a similar situation where this worked?

Yes, although it was an Apple keyboard, so it might have been built differently. After taking it apart i used a warm damp cloth to clean the area of the circuit board where the spill reached. Used a dry cloth to dry it. Gives you a chance to clean all the other gunk that collects under the keys too. But like i said, not all keyboards are constructed the same, might not work on yours. Can't do any harm though since it's not working at the moment anyway is it?

Most of the buttons work, the ones that dont are spread throughout randomly. Its ruined right now in IMO, I will try that later.
Thanks man

It is possible that some things are just insulated now, given the nature of a typical membrane keyboard. I wouldn't worry too much, as you can get old keyboards for dirt cheap, or even new replacements for 5 to 10 dollars for membrane keyboards.

Or you can be a boss and get a mechanical keyboard. Yeah!

Yeah. $14 w/free shipping. Wait for new keyboard to come in the mail and throw the old one away. I would try the mechanical keyboards before I even think about investing on an expensive keyboard.

unfortunately i spilled some juice on to my 30$ keyboard which i bought like yesterday and in about 5 minutes none of the buttons worked, so yeahh..
