He's lucky alright, I think that roll cage needs checking! The way that roof comes in on him is quite scary.

Although its funny how after the first impact, the co driver still tries to keep hold of his course notes  I don't think you'll be needing them...

LOL, yeah on the notes!!
He is lucky they did not hit much harder otherwise he'd have been feeling it....

Crazy sport for sure, thats why its so fun to watch though :)

I saw it on Speed Channel the first time they showed it. Seeing it the first time, it was pretty scary.

 (The notes...)

You'd think the roll cage would've done more protecting. The good thing about that wreck is that they (hopefully) learned from the whole incident. Next time, they'll strengthen the cage and don't take any shortcuts that they may have taken.

WRC drivers have so much talent and ability, it's not fun to watch...it's mandatory to watch. It's just that sometimes, all that talent and ability overflows and something like this happens, from one simple mistake like that.

Cool video 👍

You know what is stupid, driving over 60 mph on loose surface with a narrow road way, and completly non moving old-tank curbs just inches off of the path...thats psycho !

Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with that.

But that's rallying. Whether it's a bit of concrete, a cliff or a tree, it doesn't really make much difference. They'll all make a mess of your car.

post one of Solberg drowning his car......shouldn't be to hard to find. :ouch: j/k
that was a hard impact though. He really is a amazing driver.

Ouch, you really don't get to understand how dangerous rallying is playing games like CMR or GT3. the roads are so tiny, take them a litlle too fast and you are screwed.

Rally racing = most insane racing in the world. Also requires alot of talent.

Monte Carlo is insane... seen cars balancing half off the road...

I've driven around on narrow gravel roads at speed... and its gets quite scary sometimes... espcially when part of the cars slides cause of a soft spot or something... almost went off into a rivine that way :scared:

Gotta hand it to that co driver... he really wants to do his job right 👍

You must have seen that classic Pikes Peak video with the Peugeot (1990 Festival de Chamonix)...he's hanging one wheel over a sheer cliff drop into the ocean! Thats how you win, its a fine line between crashing and driving on the edge.

Solberg doesn't do much wrong coming round that corner, a "Warning... ****ing great concrete blocks" from his co-driver might have helped a bit

Adrenalin is nice ;) What car were you driving? Closest I've come to rally experience is in one of those hydraulic simulators you get at races, they just play back a championship run (you don't get to drive) but the feeling alone was worse that a roller coaster...never mind concentrating on staying on the track

Daaaaaaaaaaamn!! That is just crazy!! But for some reason it makes me want to watch WRC again I missed last year cause I don't have cable.... Only if I could find a DVD or a website of some sort... This vid shows what the drivers and their co-drivers risk to win a race... And is the reason why Rally is my favorite racing series...
