Should PD add a dealership where whenever you sell a car or remove it from your garage, should go to a new dealership called sold cars dealership? For example since I have two escudos, and I don't want two, I could remove it so that way other people could buy it if they couldn't find it anywhere else. I think this would be a great idea. 👍

Pretty good idea but unfortunately, the coding changes required for that are just immense so we'll probably have to wait until GT6.

What do you mean? Don't they already do that in ucd and ocd?

I'm guessing as in online for other people to buy. It will be like an actual, online dealership where other players sell cars to other players. I think some games have done this before, like Midnight Club LA and Forza 4. It's possible. I would like it.

Yea. I would like it too because let's say some one just won an escudo race car, a got a ticket for a tank car. And since you can't trade it, why not leave it for other people. I don't think it should be like where first person to buy it gets it. It should be like refreshing every hour or two hours

I've thought this from the beginning. There should be an online career mode, with an economy, and no duping. And the only cars you get are ones you buy from new dealerships, or used ones that someone else sells.

And when you go to the Sunday up in online career, it waits a moment, gets eight or so of you together, and off you go. And so on.

This would be okay, for a while. If they did this, someone who starts playing this game again ten years from now will sit in that "waits a moment" section for a LONG time.

:@: OP, I agree that this is a good idea. However, it would go by to fast. Think about it, how many people play GT5? Let's say ~7 million. Of those ~7 million, how many of them would sell one or more cars in two minutes? A LOT. If the dealership refreshed ~ 2 minutes it wouldn't catch all the cars. Let say it refreshed every ~30 seconds. Now you only have 30 seconds to buy a car, and if you have a slow internet connection you may not be able to buy a car at all.

Yes but that's why it would refresh like every 2 hours and its not gonna be like first one buys it gets it. You would also set a time when you want it to be sold. Maybe even sell it the way you left it. Like if I painted an acura yellow, it would stay that way. And the cars would be put on hold. You know what I'm saying?

I'd get behind this, so long as the restrictions are reasonable.

Two hours is even worse. How many cars would 7,000,000 people sell in two hours, and how big is the dealership? I'm not trying to bash the idea, I'm just trying to find out how it could be reasonable.

Idea! When you sell a car, you don't get the money until someone buys it, and you can "un-sell" it if no one is buying it. Make it even more like real life.

It would be like ucd except every time a person puts in a car, its put on hold until those 2 hours are up. Then, the next, let's say, 10 cars, would move in. And if you want it to be on a certain day, put in a request.

In that case, one days' worth of people selling cars would result in about a week of those cars showing up. I'm sorry, but the idea as it is now simply isn't practical. The only real solution would be have the refresh rate be ~30 minutes, and restrict it by country. By that I mean a car sold in France couldn't be bought by a GT'er in Australia.

That's the point. To make it an unlimited amount. Do you not get at what I'm saying? It'll never run out because of that.

But what I'm saying is there will be too many. A week in to the system I may sell a car and not see it for 8-10 months!

Well what's was your perspective on selling the cars? That you would make money?

Why else would you sell a car?

So basically just put cars up for sale. And the dealership refreshes, say once per day, per region. It doesn't have to look like the UCD or OCD. It could be by manufacturer, which one is most popular, it could be filtered down, so it wouldn't be too crowded. And there should be a limit like the trade limit too. No race cars to make the game less challenging for people. Have you guys played Midnight Club LA? It's got something like this. PD can make it work.

This would be great.

This would be great.

Great idea! It would be similar to the premium dealer! You could go through, select a brand, and then Bam! You have your car. You could even pick the name of the car, and then choose which person's model is best. It would show you what the tune is, so people could even choose a drag tuned car! Then again, there are pros and cons to everything.

It would also be similar to the UCD in different cars of the same model would have different paint jobs and mileage.

What most of you guys would like is an acution house for cars in GT5.

Call it OCD or UCD but in the end its an auction house to sell cars. With so many cras, brands, and so many players it would also be most simple with an auction house but it would require so much effort from PD, so much time, so much money and the servers maintenece :P

I doubt they will do this though its a splendid idea!

They should just save it for gt6. Or work hard on gt5

You could also put cars in different classes, such as "DTC", "Classic European Road Cars", "Cars With Tank Engines", and so on.
That last one is a must.

Also, you could say the SCD refreshes every two weeks, but the cars disappear every month, so every two refreshes. Kind of like a cross between the UCD's"Three in, three out" and the OCD's "All in, all out". ~Half in, ~half out.

And it is not an auction house at all, neither is the OCD or UCD. That would require different people raising the price, while this is one flat price per car lowered by mileage.

Slow refreshes? Once per day? Too many cars? What? Have you guys never really played an MMO? I've played Eve Online, single shard, 50,000 concurrent users. Putting in a market would be no big deal. It wouldn't spam people. And you could easily just filter for the make and model you want, and see the ones that are for sale (or filter by price, or filter by type, or filter by eligible for X). See the colors, the mileage, the parts that have been added. Easy peasy.

Mind you, this would just be an option online mode. The game would still have the snoozingly easy A-Spec offline mode. So even if you actually have 7 Million copies of GT5 sold, how many of them are actually going to play online?

The coolest thing about an online mode would be series like the Tuesday night thing I'm running could be posted up and the races could be part of one's online career.

50,000 is NOT 7,000,000, not even close. Imagine the GE in Runescape, but about 200 times faster. Too many cars. It take a lot of work, but I bet someone could figure it out.

7 Million copies sold. How many people play online? And how many people would play online at the same time? The console market is not the same as the PC MMO market. The online car marketplace wouldn't be a big problem.

Why not try and replicate it after Blizzards Auction House. You can put up cars for sell. They go into a list that everyone can see, but doesnt show names. Seller puts car up for any amount(touch up our money amount). It will stay up for 24-36-48 hours. If its not sold it returns to the garage. If sold the person gets the money.

Or just do it proper and imitate Forza, although an option to just set a max bid and the server bids up to that point for you would be nice.
