Solution to grinding

A good solution is to try to mix up what you do with the game to earn cash. I like to do seasonal events, A-Spec, Remote Racing, online, and to a lesser extend, B-Spec, which is more then enough to keep me from getting bored.

One solution for those at high level would be to move the 24 hours at the 'Ring to Lv 38 so that the 9 million Experience Points you get for it do not go to waste. Even putting it to Lv 39 would waste Experience Points.

If you have access to the Indy 500 then the Experience from that is not too bad at 750K.

I think the main issue at the moment are the abyssmal payouts for some events which were not helped by reducing the prize money to the level it was when the game was released.

There are so many cars (for the collector) that a considerable amount of credits are required to "catch them all"!

Teh lack of balance in this game is "one" reason why people have to grind. Case in point.

I can do the American Championship Daytona oval race in A-Spec for ONLY 5 Laps/B-Spec 22 Laps and make 97,000 cr. Now go do 200 laps on the same Daytona oval Endurance race and you make 82,000 cr.👎 Who the heck came up with this silly reward system at PD lol.

On another note a 24 hour race should net you at "least" 3-5 mil cr's. You can make more money grinding DCC for a good few hours so I see no reason not to give a 3-5 mil reward for 24 hour race, A or B spec.

Being stingy with the money is not gonna make people appreciate the game more. You effectively turned this game into chore instead of fun because there just arent enough events/tracks to distract people from the ridiculous reward system. Hence the grinding. I refuse to waste my time playing like this.

Same here. I only do what I want to do, and the cash just keeps building up. I'm 30 A-spec, 31 B-spec, and I have cars like the Jag XJ13, Pagani Zonda LM and Zonda R, Citroen GT Race car, Ferrari F40, Bugatti Veyron, Jag XJR-9, Toyota 88C, Mercedes C9 Toyota 7, Gillet Vertigo, FGT, Courage C60, Panoz Esperante, Lamborghini Nomad Diablo GT, NSX-R prototype LM, plus several other million dollar cars in the garage. Sitting on 9 million cash, and it's never a problem buying the cars I want. It's just not that hard, and I don't really understand what the fuss is all about.

If I want to get the Ford Mk IV, I could run the Dream Car championship a few times (B-spec, so I can do other things -- takes an hour) and run a few seasonal events, and I'm there.

To tell you the truth, i tried to get 20 mil last time, to get the ferrari 330 p4(when prize money was high) and it took me a week, so no, it's not do this and that, and your their, it takes a really long time. so i have stopped for now, until they bring back high prize winnings, and more seasonal event money boosters.

The problem is half the people want one thing, half want another. When something comes in, the half who don't like it will complain.

The only ones to blame are PD.

Recommended optional restrictions. So obvious it's painful, but they won't do it. It's baffling, but it's true.

It's not that PD can't please everyone, it's that they refuse to try to.

All this discussion about grinding and PD has given you a solution right in front of you. Race online. Pick random rooms, start your own room. Every race is new and different and, guess what, you might not win every race. In the process you'll meet other racers and start creating your own events. Sure the exp and cr aren't as high...but once you get into it you'll stop thinking about it and start having fun.

I tried it already many times, but I don't like the concept of one person being in control of the room.

I'm waiting for matchmaking to come into the game through an update before playing online. It's written in the paper manual as a feature in the game, and by the description, it sounds like it will be similar to the online events in Prolouge, which I'm hoping it is.

Just put in GT4's events / leveling system (licenses) and everything is solved! Allow multiple prize cars for rerunning events!

They could have used the dev time working on more premiums.

Was GT4 so long ago none of the devs remember playing it?

"Just put in GT4's events / leveling system (licenses) and everything is solved!"

Yes. GT4 got it right. I know it's important for game devs to change it up a bit, but they would be doing us a huge favor to give us GT4 with GT5's graphics and physics.

I have got a idea against grinding. When you do a race 3 times a day, you will only get half of the credits an xp. After another 3 races you half that. People wil go do other races, cause they wont get anything about that races they did 6 times. Or will people go turn the time forward? Please tell mat you think about that.

Hmm... I think its time to use this:

JK, I know your´re not trolling... (Although it feels like).

Seriously, what we need is a reward system like GT4 plus being able to sell cars for reasonable price, cars that do not exceed 5,000,000 Cr, and more a-spec events.

As I said earlier, the way to go is to allow all cars to be sold but put a cap on the amount you can receive. Also to allow prize cars to be won more than once.

More money from the races would of course help as well.

I'd kill for more A-Spec :)

But let's be serious... that's not going to happen anytime soon... maybe never... :(
What's the difference between more A-spec events and the seasonal events they've been giving us? Sure it would be nice to go back and run the seasonal events you missed (or enjoyed enough to run again) but I really don't understand this desire for more content when you have the capability to create your own content with online racing. If you don't like the restrictions people put on lobbies, start your own lobby. Get a mic so you can chat with other racers. Set restrictions to make it interesting.

On the computer I play Left4Dead2. The game has 6 campaigns which take about an hour to complete each. I play for hours on end because it's an online co-op game. I don't need new levels because every game is something new.

When it comes to GT5 the same applies. Challenge yourself with slower cars and online racing and you'll stop bitching about the lack of content. GT4 had more content because there was no online play. Getting GT5 ready for online racing was a huge undertaking and you toss it aside like its nothing.

That's the dumbest post ever.

What should they do because of the retarded level system ? Do races that gives even less XP and money ? I think you don't get it. Grinding is not cheating, grinding is simply having to do something over and over and over and over. Basically, every races you do is considered grinding (starting from lv0) because of the leveling system. And lv40 is not a goal, it's a "destination".

I don't even know what more to say to you because it doesn't make sense.

Muhahaha.....

Who care's how someone plays a game.

Everyone plays their game differently, dupe, rubber band, do what you want, you bought your game, play it so it makes you happy.

To many people in this world sticking their noses into other peoples business.

Solution to grinding.

Race lots of fun European cars in the european champs for 86,000 for 5 laps. Its where I test out all my new european cars.

You know why people have to grind? Because we get no money. Doing the 24hrs of LeMans just brings enough money to overhaul the engine and chassis of the car u used.
Making the Indy98k 2 times brings more money then Grand Valley 300 or Laguna Seca 200.

Take your time with the game. No need to rush it because who knows how many years it will be till GT6. 👍

The problem is the lack of events.

Agree.

Seasonal events aren't enough.

And you can do the same event with a different car, while you are config/testing your setup...

And you can do the same event with a underpowered car to make them more challenging...

I use to do both things, and I think I deserve the entire price... You can call this grinding... I call it play what i got XD

Ive got a better solution, Nissan GT-R, Special Stage Route 7, Online. May sound random but you'll learn...

Reduce payouts in a payout poor GT5 economy? You must be kidding. The lack of A-Spec events, and the correspondingly small payouts (especially for longer events/championships) are already killing the game, and you want to what??? PD upped the payout for Seasonals (IMO) to get credits into the community. Take the OP's point to the extreme and we'd only get credits one time per A-Spec race. If that were the case there would be a class action suit demanding a refund for the game. Come on people . . . use your head. If PD wants to make the complaining go away they need to cure the problem, not treat the symptoms.

So I have to take a Peugeot 106 Rallye in all events because the AI is too slow and hasn't changed since 2000 ? Awesome.

I physically can't grind. Its just too boring. I start to fall asleep. Lol.

Me too. And I love this game. It's really a shame. The gameplay itself is excellent. The cars drive right, the graphics look right, the setup system isn't perfect but it's more than enough for me to dig into.

But it just takes too much grinding, and that gets boring. I'd have to win approximately 4000 races to get the dozen cars on my list right now. I have many other things to do. GT5 is not that good of a game to justify that much time. I have a job, a dog, a house to paint, and games like Demon's Souls, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Killzone 3.

Gran Turismo 5's ridiculous time requirements to acquire a nice stable of cars is not in line with the game's quality, even though it's a good game. There should be a few tough championships where you win a few million dollars. I think that alone would solve everything.

I also think it's quite obvious why Polyphony set the game up this way. It won't be long before they have DLC for sale that solves the problem they artificially created. So the root problem is that the game was too costly and slow to develop.
