"I'M IN UR THREAD, SOLVING UR PATTERNZ."

Correct?

Heres an attempt.

'England, although a very small country, is much richer than many countries lager than it.'

, 0.5/10 chance it's right.

Less than that... though you've now got half of the pattern.

I have absolutely no idea, and every similarity I come up with fails on at least one of those nine sentences. The problem is that I have no idea what to look for. And if it's not the grammar, not the syntax and not the content, what else can it be?

You've lost me!

Who said it isn't the content?

House prices in California are insane, ranging from 1 to 10 million dollars.

Nope.

One of the odd things about cocodriles is that, despite their super jaw strenght, they can be held closed by the hands of any human being.

I saw a very silly pattern, but I'm not quite sure if that's it. ^^^

Definately not.

"I'M IN UR THREAD, SOLVING UR PATTERNZ."

Correct?

I'M IN UR HED, SCREWIN WID UR BRAINZ.

No disrespect to Blake intended, but I can't believe he's the only one to have got this so far...

Question: In the “Nokia” story, do each of the individual sentences follow the pattern, or does it as a whole follow the pattern?

I know half the pattern now, heres another go.

'Nokia mobile phones are becoming more popular in Japan than any other country in the world'.

0.00001/10 Chance of being right?

Less.

"Nokia" only appears in one example - and even then I only used it to follow on from Sage's post. There is no probability of Nokia, or mobile phones of any variety, being part of the pattern.

'Audi and BMW are German rivals, but however hard Audi try, BMW always come out on top.'

Woops, sorry, double post :(.

Mmmm, nope.

I'm curious though - what made you think that might be right?

@ Famine: what puzzles me is that you say Blakes sentence is perfectly okay, but that it took you a moment to see that it is. So, it can't be anything totally obvious, even if you know what you're looking for.

There are many men in Malaysia, much more than there are women.

GM - That's not a very good way of eliminating the possibilities, is it?

Try working out what the remainder of the pattern might be, then you can post possible correct answers with more certainty than mere guesses.

It's also important to note that it's a pattern and not just some things connecting the phrases.

ultrabeat - Nope.

Interceptor - I wouldn't say it was something glaringly obvious. There is a certain hidden nature to the solution, otherwise it'd be very easy indeed. But Blake's threw me just a little because I was looking for something else (as most people who get the solution probably would) when his version was just as valid...

One of the odd things about Famine's mind-benders in The Rumble Strip is that the amount of correct posts there is so slim - a lot less wide than in similar threads.

:D

I double that! Finally, there's something challenging, something to think about, rather than a new...

yo! i cant entr the wold champianschip, wot do i do now? Plz hlp me! :nervous:

^ That's not supposed to be an example by the way ... or does it fit the pattern? :sly:

I believe I might have it.

When I visited Australia, I saw many fuzzy koala bears.

Oooh..! I do believe he's...

No, only kidding. Incorrect.

:D

Nope.

(and, given that you just posted a substitution in a phrase which was correct, that should give you some clues)

Well I've picked up on a bizarre coincidence at least. I wonder, if Blake's answer was unconventional, is it possible he got lucky?

[/Devil's Advocate] :)

Nope.

And hopefully Blake'll post another one, just to show he's got it.

When Famine went abroad- to France, he met a man- Chuck Norris.

Acoustic technicians in Tasmania recently uncovered a sound which doesn't echo - Bart Simpson's voice!

(ten) :D

But then Famine knows the pattern (and everything else ever).

I'm leaning towards the excessive use of hyphens and commas, and where in the sentence.

In Mongolia- An east-asian country, Yaks are often thought of as suitable bed partners.
