Solved: Asked for Username and Password Verification?

While browsing the forum I get this popup at random times asking to verify my username and password for sites I've never heard of. It won't let me click on the cancel button but I can just close the window and continue browsing the forums as normal.

Is this an Ad or something as I'm postive it's not genuine? If I see it again I'll try get a screenshot but I think it needs attention incase it could be harmful to users.

I think I know of the problem now. It seems a user is linking from an site which requires their username and password to view the images. I'm sure I've seen it in other threads too.

I've encountered this a couple of times recently - it's usually when a member has farted up an image link, so I tend to replace the link to remove the error.

It won't be at random times - it'll be while browsing certain threads and won't occur once the link is cached but will reoccur if you refresh the page or return the next day.
 
True, I've only just picked up on the pattern and figured out what it was when I looked though the thread in question.
