I purchased The Amazing Spiderman from Gamestation today for my PS3 , traded a couple of things and they gave me a free £5 PSN voucher code too.

So what do I purchase? The speed test pack? Car pack 2 or 3? Course pack or Twin Ring Motegi?

What to do?

It depends if you want cars or a track. Do you want to race on Motegi or plan on doing a lot of testing on Route X? If I had to chose I would go with Motegi. I've had a lot of fun on both the full road course and oval so far.

Edit: I missed that you wrote the first track pack also. Yeah, go with Spa. Easily in the top 3 tracks in the game IMO.

Spa is an absolutely fantastic track, that offers fantastic racing. There is the problem of peopel cutting all sorts of places on it, in random online lobbies. But if you join a series Racing Series, or have a group of friends, you can have some great races on it. The track also looks great, and supports rain.

The Speed test track is nice for photos, as well as offering a good way for GTP hosts to test out cars for events. Not much good for racing, though I don't really regret buying it.

I haven't bought Motegi, as I find it too expensive. I've heard talk that the track isn't as well made graphically, as it should be. Still seems like a fun track to race on though.

Now for the car packs.

The first car pack is filled with what is esentially RM models of existing cars. Most are heavily modified, and they're great fun to drive. I espicially love the Mazda MX5 and RX7. And the Karts are good to have, if you want to attend any series Kart Racing.

The 2nd car pack, is somewhat less interesting. Though if you're graving some more hatchbacks, espicially in terms of modern European cars, then I can recommend it. As a side note, I believe 3 out of the 4 cars in that pack, have working fuel gauges.

The 3rd car pack is a beast of a pack, giving you Lamborghinis new Aventador, and the beloved old VW Beetle. Also adds another premium Group C car for you to use (updated standard car). The Aston is every bit as fun to drive as the existing DB9, but with more power. The new Mini Cooper is nice, though it's a shame we didn't get it in 4WD configuration, and the Leaf... Well, it 's a leaf. Can be fun for kicks. It's head light suck at night on the Ring. :)

Then there are the small packs like the Racing suits and paint packs. The Racing suits are kind of aweosme, though they really should be free. Same can be said for the paint pack. None the less, they cost next to nothing.

Hope this helps you.

Thank you all for your replies.

Thanks so much Jawehawk that was quite thorough. I think I'm going to purchase Spa as soon as my son gets off the console.

Carpack one goes over the fiver budget sadly.

Thank you.

Spa is a must have, then again so is the first car pack. You won't regret either

I'd say that you should buy in this order:

1. Twin Ring Motegi
2. Spa-Francorchamps
3. Car Pack 3
4. Special Stage Route X
5. Car Pack 2
6. Car Pack 1

That's a shame, it's a great track. Something I didn't enjoy in GT4/GT PSP, I find a lot of fun in GT5. Some great racing and battles to be had there. Have had as much fun at Motegi as I have Spa.

I also heard a lot about not looking as good graphically, but it's a good looking track. It's almost surreal as you are racing through the inner west course and seeing the banked oval surround the track, it's a great and unique sight to see.

Thanks guys, bought Spa. Feel free to discuss order of preference of dlc like Stormtrooper.

Incidentally, how to pronounce Spa-F.....?

Frank O'Chomps - The Irish Racecar driver.

Too be sure.

I'd have said go to the seasonal event and try out the SPA track in them. There was one event where you could run a LM SPorts car - 5 lap 650pp maybe.

But you have got it now... so you are stuck with it now.

Now that you mention it, I remember doing just that. I also remember enjoying it immensely, the track stuck out to me in a positive way. So that's Spa? Nice. I can't believe I forgot about it.

My Thoughts exactly, but I would change 1 and 2. I bought all of them. Although Motegi and Spa are very close I like the variable weather on spa a lot. A little big of fog makes great pictures.

Having bought all the DLC to date, I'm going to have to disagree with the posts above.

Personally, I'm not all that thrilled with the DLC tracks, simply because they aren't very useful. They're available only for offline practice or online races. If you enjoy earning credits and trophies in A-Spec and B-Spec, you can't do so with the DLC tracks. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the tracks themselves. Spa is especially fun and challenging, and if you don't mind those limitations, go buy a track and have fun.

If I were to pick just one car pack, I'd choose the Racing Car Pack (Car Pack 1). Lots of fun and competitive cars in there. Once you've downloaded a car pack, you get one copy of each car "free" (you don't have to "buy" it with in-game credits). So, you get the X2012 "free" instead of having to earn it. The Honda CR-Z TC and Mazda Roadster TC are absolute blasts to drive once tuned, as are the VW Scirocco and '66 1200 (Beetle) from the other car packs.
