Some differences L10A & L10B

i checked the new S.E. so I look at my garage in the morning before going to work as usual and...something cought my eye the Mazda, L10A & L10B wich are their diffences? almost the same, but there must be some differences on its performance, handling, aestethics.
Sorry if it is confusing...
 
Well, from what I've seene/experienced, the L10B has a larger grille on the front bumper, bigger rims, more HP (128HP) in comparison to the L10A's 110HP, and the already known 5-speed manual transmition in camparison to the L10A's 4-speed. The handling though, seemed preety much the same with the tail sliding a bit, but with a good cornering ability.
 
The L10B is heavier than the A. Yes it has a little more HP but the weight pretty much offsets that especially at lower PP levels like you see in the seasonals.

For the 370PP TT currently up they should be very close in performance but I'd bet the L10A properly tuned will be just a hair faster.👍👍
 
Always wondered this. But yes, they are different. Even at the rear there are some minor differences as I remember in GT4. Haven't had the chance to get one in GT5.

Oh, and anyone has noticed that Jon Arbuckle has one of these in that "new" CG Garfield cartoon? Very strange that such a rare car was chosen to be modeled in a cartoon. There must be car guys working in that show. I know, random comment...

No, it's an American show. Based on an American newspaper comic.

But the whole "have a major character's car or otherwise plot-important car be of a make and model that the average commuter is unlikely to see two of in the same commute" phenomenon isn't exactly new. The most common I've noticed is the 60s Shelby GT500, usually in blue with white stripes:

  • An old lady whose car went completely out of control in a super hero movie (I think it was one of the Spider-Man movies, but I'm not 100% sure)
  • Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds (silver with black stripes, but still a Shelby Mustang)
  • Guile's car in the Street Fighter 2 anime movie
  • Rally Vincent's car in Gunsmith Cats

A few other examples I can think of right now include:
  • the aforementioned Mazda L10A or L10B of Jon Arbuckle
  • the DeLorean from back To The Future
  • the ECTO-1 (1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance) from Ghostbusters
  • the Hachi-Roku from Initial D
  • Lupin III's Fiat 500
  • Misato Katsuragi's Alpine A-310 (and I believe she drove a Lancia Stratos when she went to Shinji's school)

The whole point for cars like these is to tell the audience "Look at this car! Either the car or its driver is IMPORTANT!" without actually physically speaking those words.
 
Paint one a different colour.

I used a dark grey metallic, and the chrome bits came up quite nice.

Seriously though, Are there any differences in a Cosmosport and a L10? Or is that just a badge thing.
They only come in one colour each, Chamonix White and Swan White...

Wider mouth on the B looks better if I'm honest. Then of course there are the minor differences w/performance.
 
^ Still with looks only a mother could love. Does it still get that ghastly spoiler that it had in gt4?
 
it drives quite "well" funny i'd say. with confort medium, all stock, no aids.
PD really loves to put a lot of effort in the details.
