Do you think it would be a good idea if we had old versus new car races both off line and on-line.

The old cars get a head start for a few seconds and then the new cars have to try and beat them.

The New cars will be later versions (Or modern day equivilent) of the old car for example.

VW Golf GTI MK1 versus VV Golf GTI MK5

Astra GTE16 Valve Versus Vuaxhall Astra VXR

Ford Escort RS Cosworth Versus Ford Focus RS

Renault 5 GT Turbo versus Renault Clio Sport

MG Montego Versus MG ZS

MG Maestro Versus MG ZR

etc etc

OR ...

Also How about a "Hot Pursuit" mode where you have to drive a police car and ram the stolen car about 3 times to stop it.

I'd love to be in a Fully kitted out Volvo police car chasing a stolen car around the london track or any other city track (Minus sponser boards etc so it doesn't look like a race track) and you have to bump it a certain number of times before the finishing line otherwise the stolen car gets away and wins!!!

Imagine it on-line with the police car behind you all sirens blaring and the blues and twos flashing - I reckon it would be great fun.

You could have a motorway/freeway 'track' where you play on-line and there is one stolen car and four or five police cars and you have to try and box the driver in - that would be ace!!

You could have AI doing random 'stingers' so if youre the stolen car and you get spiked then you lose speed and therefore are easier to catch.

I know this sounds a bit GTA but this is all about driving and car control and I reckon if you are a bit of a petrol head you all agree that when you do watch the Car Wars/Police Camera Action type programs you all wish you could have a go chasing a stolen car or even getting the chase from the police and trying to lose them!!!:)

What do you all think?

It would be just for fun and that would widen its appeal to more and more people - imagine havig a leaderboard with all the local constabilary on it and you could have the chase off a real copper!!!!

Erm... the first idea is okay, the second is a bit "Need For Speed". I've no beef with NFS but that isn't what Gran Turismo is about. And if I want to run from the Police GTA4 is good enough for me :)

Agreed. However, running from the cops in Need For Speed: Most Wanted using a DFP and Playseat is a fantastic thrill, pulling reversed 180s and the like, dodging the police down alleyways... great fun!

But as homeforsummer said, that isn't what Gran Turismo is about. If anyone has seen the TV series "GT Racer", then they'll see that's pretty much what Gran Turismo is about, although it's more about classic cars in that, but they still race at the same places as Gran Turismo (Nurburgring, Laguna Seca, etc.).

Just the passion for cars, old and new, tuning them up and racing them.
