But the car is actually pretty aerodynamic

Well, only slightly. Alot of airflow does get sucked in the front nose and in the headlight openings. It should reduce drag if I install some of those headlight covers.

Perhaps you could get clear covers. I'd be worried about you seeing at night with smoked covers on the car, and I think they're illegal in some states.

I'm going to mod my headlights as well. A '98 Silverado, an older Monte Carlo, and or Chevrolet Celebrity lights with minor modification--which means I can grab some Sylvania Silverstars and get all the night vision I need.

I'm liking the 1 piece headlight set...especially the Monte Carlo one.

*edit*
Pics fixed.

That's odd...I have Silverstar Sealed Beams on my Nova. do they not carry them anymore?

Those are the Monte Carlo lights. They look epic badass. They are also the ones that take the most fabrication as well. But, if they turn out like in that pic they would be brilliant.

Stmpy: makes it look like a rice poser. a gloss black would be better
I don't think a 3rd gen would look good in 4th gen paint like that sunset orange (or equiv)
I agree, avoid red...that attracts cops and high insurance rates.
uh...a deep yellow comes to mind (Transformers, anyone?)
take a cue from the 1st gen, and pull a color from that pallette. with the red interior, tho...lotta colors are gonna clash, 'less you plan to reskin the seats and door pannels, too

thanks for the link to that wheel cleaner. what is it about alloys, even stock ones, that attracts brake dust like skeeters to skinnydippers? sounds like a mega toxin type, tho. "eye protection reccomended"?!

I have a theory: If you have an automatic transmission, you are more likely to get front brake dust covered wheels, due to not being able to engine brake.

Prepped the interior for vinyl flooring yesterday. I also sprayed some sound/vibration deadening stuff and it actually worked! At least a third of the noise has been removed. I can finally talk on the phone with the windows rolled up AND hear the other person. Not that I would talk and drive at the same time...pffft please.

Older --> Old --> New

yo, list that sound deadening stuff, please. some moron stripped my ride out to turn it into a rolling radio. sides, my crews are wearing the paint off the floor :P

thanks. I gotta post pics of this poor 4Runner. it disintegrated over only a year and a half.

*smirk*
when you do 40 thou in a year (64k km), in all weather conditions, even a toyota will wear out :P

Offtopic, but you said your insurance rates just dropped? Mine dropped @ 28, do you have accidents or points on your license?

yeah. I burned off the two points i had five years ago, though. over conditions, cheap fine :P

I got started driving later than most people, and my rates didn't start dropping till about a year ago. I think it takes about 10-12 years in my state for a male driver to come off of "assigned risk"

That's funny you mention that because I got my driving license when I was 18. Maybe there's something to that 10 year thing...

*cough* This was on a state highway with no traffic where the speed limit was 60mph so no complaining about it being speeding or what-not.

*youtube seems to be doing maintenance?

What am I looking at? You going 20mph? If you were trying to link to a video, it didn't play.

The video is working now. Its really not even worth all these posts...lol. Rather boring vid actually.

Looks to be a rough 6.5 second 0-60.

I'd love to see someone time index it. :D

Oh, and I bought these beauties today:

That's good use of $50 USD.

Points to anyone but YSS that gets what these are from. Should be fairly easy...:sly:

Nice paint, nice Anniversary seats.

Those seats are MUCH more comfy than my old seats. I have to sand it a bit to smooth out the rough spots then respray and add another can or two of the sound/vibration deadener. :sly:
