Some questions about GT5

Hi to GTP members, i have a few questions I'd like to ask.

Before I start, you should know that I am running a backup of MY OWN ORIGINAL GT5 using multiMAN v1.13.01 with a modified eboot file on my Slimline 320GB PS3. And the game works perfectly (and what a game at that!!). I have bought the game 3 days ago and I am currently on A-Spec Level 14 with +- 335 000 Cr.

1) I have not found out how to equip my car with brakes, I have looked everywhere (tuning shop and GT auto) but I haven't found it yet. I have heard (rumours) that you can only install brakes on higher end cars i.e. Ferraris and Lambos. But I need to know for sure from you experts 👍.

2) As I said before, I am running a backup on a Jailbroken Slimline PS3, so I need to know FOR SURE, whether or not the game will work if I update it to 1.05 patch (or higher if there are any), and if so, do I have to download the patch through the PS3, or is there somewhere I can download it off the web, put it on a flash drive and then update it from there.

3) As I understand it, getting trophies (ones that you win when getting a podium finish in races of licenses) will contribute towards your overall game completion percentage. But what I want to know is whether or not there is a difference in the contribution of percentage from different types (Bronze, Silver, Gold) of trophies. In other words, will my overall percentage be greater if I get more gold trophies in Licenses, rather than bronze or silver.

4) This may be considered nit picking, but I just want to check if there is a way that I can send cars that you win events (like the clubman cup, sunday cup, etc) straight into my garage without having to go into Car Exchange and accepting it from there. I know it sounds a bit stupid, but I really hate having to go there and accept each car you win manually (I mean it was so much easier in GT4 when all you had to do was watch a short video).

5) Is there a specific type of B-Spec driver, who is the "fastest". I mean is there a specific emotion (the hot and cool bar) or name that is known to be superior. Because I am going to start b-spec and I want to know if there is a way in which I can find the best driver.

6) The best cars for their price. Please don't tell me "You should get the Red Bull X1 because its the fastest" because I know its the fastest and I'm only on lvl 14. What I'm looking for is which car offers the best value for money in various money or type categories. for example, I'm looking for an answer like "The Tommy Kaira ZZII is the best supercar because it costs 60 000 and is better than a GT-R which costs 77 000" or "the best Ferrari is the 458 because blah blah blah". Something that you should know, is that I like to buy cars that I know will fulfill the requirements for most races. in other words, I would prefer to buy a car for 70 000 that will be able to compete in 5 races, rather than a car that costs 50 000 but is only able to compete in 3 races... get what i mean ;)

7) Are there any quick ways to earn some extra cash. I mean, is there a specific event that is know to give a considerable amount of money for a short amount of time.

Thanks in advance

Most of the answers to your questions can actually be found by browsing around a bit and using the search. Please don't expect to be spoonfed.

Thats a nice way to reply to somebody, not

there is no option to upgrade brakes. You can adjust balances only.

You have to open the tickets, see the animation and then the car is in your garage. No way around it.

B-Spec drivers perform according to their emotion bar. if the driver is in the red, he's faster, but more likely to make mistakes. If he's in the blue, he'll be slower buy keep it on the road. During races, you have a dynamic emotion bar that is calculated with the driver's own bar. So, a red driver with a red bar in a race will be really fast, but sloppy.

The best way to get cash is to run Indy in the "Like the Wind" series, but it's a few levels up from where you are. Seasonal events are another great way, but there are only a few every week.

It's true, though. An, as it seems, you couldn't be bothered to answer either. Either way:

As far as I know, it's supposed to work. From my knowledge, 1.05 released before the PS3 was jailbroken. Then again, i don't know much about that kind of stuff. You can't donload the patch to a thumb drive, thougj (at least I've never found a way to do it).

In order to get 100% completetion, you need to gold the events.

You'll have to get every car manually. And you'll have to confirm that you actually want to do so.

I doubt anybody nows fpr sure. My opinion? They all suck. Big time. Give them the best car possible and forget about them.

There's only a fistful of cars that are particualarily useful. Most events have very loos restrictions anyways, so if you're concerned about money, try using the cars you can win as prizes. One of the few things that should be noted: If you need a Lambo, buy a Gallarrdo, as there's a specific race for them. Aside from that? Not much to say.

The American Championship race at Indianalopis and the Dream Car championship at Indianapolis (Extreme series) are probably the fastest way to grind cash. American is better of you don't have an X2010. If you do, the Dream Car is better.

I did not reply luminis because i did not know the answers. I am simply saying not a nice reply, not a very friendly forum, i think

Why did you bold almost every instance of "I"? Trying to make yourself feel important?

Thanks a ton, it really set me in the right direction. 👍

No,I have been warned by the moderators about my grammer.this is what i mean by being a very rude forum.I dont need to feel important you yank ****

By not following the AUP (which you accepted) you are disrespecting the forum.

I honestly have no clue how that i happened. I only realized it was like that now that you pointed it out.

It was done by a Moderator because you didn't capitalize your "I"s in the first place. They are bolded to try to send you the message that you need to step up your grammar or face possible Moderator action.

From the AUP:

•You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters.

So there you go.

It was such a long Original Post that I couldn't see any of the responses while I read it, but I knew there would be moderator comments, and I'm glad it was the first one.
I'm just surprised nobody (mod included) had something to say about a new member asking advice regarding a jailbroken PS3.

AUP says:

•You will not use these forums to violate any laws nor to discuss illegal activities.

And also:

•You will not use these forums for the purposes of sharing or distributing viruses, licenses, registration information, software keys, pirated commercial multimedia files, “cracks”, or other information designed to do harm to or allow unlawful access to any computer software or systems.

Is it not illegal to jailbreak those systems? Or if not illegal, at least against the Terms of Use of the Playstation System? I assumed discussion of this would be against the AUP, but I guess I was mistaken? (not sarcastic)

@ the.true.samiam
He was not asking how to jail break it or any info regarding that action. That is against the AUP.
He was just stating that he had that said console and thus why he needed help.
All the questions he asked can be done with any console so technically there is no harm in those discussions.

Thanks for the heads up, i'll be sure to abide by it from now onwards/

There is a fine line with using a Jailbreak device, if you backup your own games (like i stated in my post), then it legal. If you backup a game that is not yours, then it isn't legal. If you look at my post, you can clearly see that i indicated it was my own game that I backed up.

is there somewhere I can download it off the web, put it on a flash drive and then update it from there.
Yes. I would just do it off of PSN, though. It takes quite a while, but there is no risk to it.

Is it not illegal to jailbreak those systems?
Possibly. Probably not, though.

Or if not illegal, at least against the Terms of Use of the Playstation System?
Terms of use of the system itself are irrelevant. It does violate the Terms of Use for PSN, though.

Other good races for cash are the London British Lightweight race and the Turbo Challenge at High Speed Ring, they're both fairly short and pay out quite a bit. Oh and the Indy race in the American Championship is the best payout per minute, 117,000 cr for 5 laps of an oval, which you can do in under 4 minutes in a ZR-1 RM (cheapest option) but can knock about 10 seconds off that in the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car, if you feel like spending 3.6 million on it.

Good cars; I'd suggest the 458 Italia for the Ferrari race as it's cheaper than the 430 Scuderia, the Gallardo for the Lamborghini event as there's a Gallardo race after that. The TVR Speed 6 for British Lightweights, Toyota 7 for the Historic Race Car thing later on, the Mazda Furai is pretty good for a lot of stuff (win it from B-Spec). For the Rally special events I used an Evo II (without an oil change as it was only 1bhp less than the limit when I bought it) for the first set and an Evo Super Rally car for the second and third set, though that's a very hard car to find, but the Impreza that's currently in the Online Collector's Dealership will most likely suffice. Also the 88C-V is useful, can't remember what races for but you'll no doubt find out. I did some juggling between A and B-Spec to unlock cars in one to use in the other, including unlocking the Toyota 7 in B-Spec to use in A-Spec. Don't worry if you can't win a certain race as soon as you unlock it, just grind past that level and go back to it later.

B-Spec driver type doesn't matter at all because there's no way they can early on without a massively overpowered car, just pay attention and keep their 'temperature' in the middle. In fact, just keep giving them overpowered cars. The NASCAR event is quite tricky if you're not lucky like I was, but if you keep your driver cool you may find he has tyres left when everyone has lost theirs, meaning you can give him a push right at the end to win. I took the lead at Grand Valley Speedway on the second to last corner on the very last lap...

Long post, sorry, I lose the ability to paraphrase or even make sense at 5:30am. Hope it was useful, though.
