Illogical
The Land Rover CAN change wheels

BTW you can paint the Camaro Race Car, I dunno if anybody tried that. It goes one solid color which I kind of regret, but once I find the right color for it I'll be happy. I'll have to try the rims on that when I get home since you can paint it.

I'm happy with my Camaro LM Stealth ;p

Spyker C8
Plymouth Prowler
Viper GTS-R Concept
Speed 12
Veyron

NSX-R proto Road
Audi LeMans Quatro
Mazda Furai
VW Nardo

Suzuki GSX-R/4
Saleen S7
Caterham Seven Fireblade

NOOOOOOO i wanted my black s7 with red rims back :ouch:

I havent played the new 2.02 update yet but this thread is actually VERY helpful for those that want to know which standard cars can and cant have their wheels changed. So far out of 800 standard cars 12 of those cant have their wheels changed. Thats luckily a very small percentage. I am just VERY happy we can finally change the wheels on standard cars. 👍 That was a huge pet peeve of mine for GT5. Took a year to update but something is always better than nothing. :sly:

Really sad that you can't change the rims on the veyron. I was so excited to paint one black with the mesh rims painted orange. Guess not :(

Really? I did not know that. What does it do to the stuff like the sponsor stickers and whatnot?

In regards to the topic, I don't think anyone should have been expecting PD to go back to the GT3 way of doing things.

There are some race cars that you can change the wheels on. Teh VW Lupo and Beetle cup racecars can be rim changed. Would love to do this to a lot of the standard race cars.

Cizeta, Camaro LM and GT-R Proto can't have wheels changed. I think the latter might have been that way in GT4, but I'm pretty sure you could change the wheels on the other two.

Which makes me wonder what is it between PD and Bugatti

Why Veyron got this kind of treatment, lol

I don't thinking you can find aftermarket wheels for the Veyron in real life. Maybe one or two one-off custom build wheels but thats it.

Found this out ages ago, along with quite a few others that retain body stripes and logos etc. Looks pretty damn sweet in silver chrome.
It seems to work better with lighter colours, as it doesn't show the jagged edges of the logo decals too much.

(yep, it also paints the wing too!)
Such a shame you can't change the wheels though, although the RX7 LM you can change them on.

Other paintables which retain things here including photos. (and continued in this post)

Here's some more cars you can't change rims on:
Renaultsport Lutecia Renault Sport V6 Phase2 '03
Renaultsport Clio Renault Sport V6 Phase 2 '03

But you CAN change them on:
Renaultsport Lutecia Renault Sport Trophy Race Car '00

I think it's more of a bug rather then PD not allowing it on purpose. Just makes no sense with the selection of cars that can't change wheels being so varied, and random.

Well...

It's kinda implied for some of them since many of the road cars you couldn't change wheels on after the first patch were later patched to be able to. Including a couple that you also couldn't change wheels on in GT4 but now have that ability (Corvette C2, 60's Silvia).

May I ask why? I think those wheels are beautiful. I used them a lot in GT4 with old european cars.

I miss that feature, the Rim cycles with assorted and other manufacturer rims, i just miss the scope of rims in GT4, it was a true wheel shop.

GT5 is severely lacking in range.

An exception to the no-replacement-rims-on-race-cars rule I've found is the Mazda6/Atenza Touring Car.

As the case with the Honda Intega Type R Touring car and Toyota Altezza Touring car.
