Someone PLEASE tell me how to win snow races

...Some people really like a challenge. That's why I go to get all of the gold licenses. That speaks for itself. You can't cheat or take a shortcut (legitimately, at least) to get the gold licenses. .

Win this race however it works for you folks and however you are having fun doing it, after all, you paid for the game to play however you want. I would say however, you can win this race clean and once you get the "drift", it gets easier to do that. 👍

Rail- and snowbank- riding are the easiest ways to get gold licenses. You finish way, way ahead of the time. Not even fair. You just slide into them and get on the gas in high gear. Talk about cornering on rails.

Actually, I went back and won it without slamming the wall, but the AI spun out at the last series of jog turns and I was able to pass him without touching, but I've never considered the 5 second thing fair when he can bump you from behind and incur a penalty on you. Where's the logic in that?

Additionally, just slamming walls does not guarantee a win. You have to setup the car correctly entering turns (at least on the hard ones) or you'll end up with 5 second penalties. I don't consider this cheating, just like running across chicanes is not really cheating, either. It's a far cry from B-Spec and all of the baggage that goes with that.

Oh yeah, I used an underpowered car to do it.

That's partially what I did, till I overtook him in the last lap. But the general tip is, as in dirt racing, the slower, the faster. You sometime need to go slower to get better times. Too much power is not the key here. And take the early lead with an overtaking a la JP Montoya is key to success.

I would add that whatever car you are using, tighten up your gears so you end up running 2/3/4 gears instead of 1/2/3. You need to start in 2nd gear and if you set your gears right

I REALLY dislike Ice races, that's why I didn't do any yet. I don't just dislike it, I despise it, I piss on anyone who came up with the idea to put this in GT4... since it simply does NOT work in this game. Especially with the ridiculous penalty it really is annoying. Instead of adding 2 very good looking ice tracks they should have made 2 beautiful road tracks and I would have been much happier with the game... and they wouldn't even have had to go through all the trouble to simulate ice racing physics.

Shorten the gears, auto slider to the left Only really helps if you're using manual gearing. Depending on the car, this might be good, but I'm running on automatic so I prefer a bit longer gears (too much revs on ice, and it'll be hard to find grip) for a little less spinning.

I do not bow down lightly... Anyone who can win the ice races in automatic deserves a nod of appreciation! 👍 And, as you say Ske, a lot longer gears I would think would be in order with a lot more feathering of the throttle and holding down L2 or R2 or whatever it is that is used to hold it in a gear

Call it what you want, you bought it and therefore, you get to justify how you win it and what you think is right... Just remember, you're grading things in the game on a curve.

yep. i feel bad about doing it, but i dont like the physics of the rally races on gt4, so ill cheat my way through that part. i beat all the special condition races easily using this method.

The physics are definitely a breed of their own in the rally of GT4.
