I would like to Know who with a G25 uses the wheel as if they where driving the real car? Example when driving an Integra Type R the racer uses the clutch and H shifter, or when driving the GTR 07 the racer uses the paddle shifter. When I drive any car I try to drive it as its meant to be driven. Please don't take this the wrong way if you don't drive like this IM not trying to diss you. I just want to know if any G25 or other wheel users with a clutch and H pattern/paddle shifters drive the car as they would in real life. When I play GTP I have a great appreciation for each car. For example when I test drive the Evo IX I use the H pattern and clutch. When I drive the EVO X I use .paddle shifting I understand what the car manufactures meant by when they said the EVO X lets you focus on more driving then having to worry about shifting. After driving the EVO X I miss using the clutch and shifter so i go back to the EVO IX. Driving like this really makes me enjoy the game so much more!!! I even drive like this online. I still stay competitive (2:21.5 Suzuka 550 RWD RX-7) even though sometimes I miss shift which affects my lap times and pole position :) but that's part of racing right. Im asking this question for the fact I would like to have you on my friend list so I know who is driving as I do. Thanks!! I LOVE GT

I think some people do but i always use the paddle shifters on all cars.

ive thought about this, even though i dont have a G25 i would always shift as it were designed, i would also move the shifter to the left if i was driving a RHD car, no joke i would.
im so glad there is someone else that thinks this way...

I havent tried my G25 on GT5P yet but i prefer to use paddle shifters. I would use the H shift sometimes and the sequintial shift as well but ive never tried the clutch yet.

Hahaha me to im glad you feel that way i wish you had a G25 also its the best. let me first tell you its not like shifting a real car but it still the best feeling

I chose to only use the paddles, due to the fact of how unrealistic and cheap the shifter feels....

i agree with you, but i still use it!!!! its way better then anything i ever used my porsche wheel should be comming soon though, and from what i saw the shifter looks way stiffer then the G25. I still love the G25 its a great wheel!!

I have a dfp and I only use the paddles with cars that have them like the F430. That's really all I can do :p

I just use the clutch depending on the track, as I am still getting used to the wheel & clutch itself. I am comfortable using the clutch at Fuji but struggle at Suzi.

I prefer to use either the paddle shifter or stick shifter as the car dictates. I have to add that I use the in car view exclusively and from which you can see either the stick shift or the paddle shift are being used. But the nature of the G25 shifter forced me to use it sequentially instead of H shifting.

If i'm not in some kind of competition like Weekly Race Series, always I use G25's clutch and H-Shifter if in the real life, the car that I'm driving, use it.
But, always if I drive cars like F430 that in the real life use the paddle shifter, I use the G25's paddle shifter.
I know the G25's H-shifter it's unreallistic, but from my point of view it's more realistic use the H-shifter than the paddle shifter in some kind of stock cars like Lancia Delta, Honda Integra, EVO IX...
Tha's all, all of us know that the worse thing of G25 it's the low resistance of the H-shifter.

I tend to use H-pattern without the clutch. I justify this to myself in that most track prepared cars would be fitted with dog-boxes and therefore clutchless shifting.
The other reason is I have a Playseat and because the wheel is on a pedestal it is difficult set up to allow both left-foot braking and toe-heal braking but that's a different story.

I used to use the clutch every time and it was great until the PD update which does'nt allow you to 'snap' change or 'power shift' as some call it. Worse still is that even if you try to change 'normally', you still get caught out by that snag every now and then which will ruin your flying lap or a competitive race.

It was dissapointing to hear KY refer to that type of gearshifting as unrealistic.

It is realistic because it can be done!

So for now i use the paddles:indiff:

I drive the same way as JDMKING13, I also turn ABS off in cars that dont have it in real life.

I try to keep it as realistic as possible. I have a problem with second gear not working when i try to "power shift"

For some reason, I like reving the **** out of first and slamming it into second. lol... feels good.

Yeah, PD really tossed it with the clutch changes on the most recent update. In the end, however, there's still the issue of the car not reacting properly to poor downshifts and thus throwing the need for throttle-blipping out the window (even before the update). Try taking the car quickly from say 4th to 1st to see what I mean... a real car would lock up badly due to engine compression.

i don't like the clutch sensibility so i don't use it
most part of the time i use paddles but sometimes i use H grid , easier for drifting

But, always if I drive cars like F430 that in the real life use the paddle shifter, I use the G25's paddle shifter

It come's with a proper manuel as well,so i would use the shifter but i am happy with my DFGT.

yea me to!! it just makes me feel like im really driving that certain car. Another question though my best lap is 2:21.5 in the suzuka 550 RWD (RX-7) event and i use interior view with the clutch and H pattern shift. How are you guys times with the wheel on suzuka.

i think once we get damage poor downshifting will take a major toll on the motor.

I think in gt5 PD should make it so if a car dosn't have ABS you can't turn it on unless you buy it as a tuning item.

+1 i really agree with you on this!!! to take this further also cars that dont come with auto trans should not be driven in auto EX GTR NurII 02. it just dosent make since to me.

I like using the h-gate shifter, unless the car has more than 6 gears. I use the clutch once in a while, but find the "biting point" to be in a weird spot...feels awkward. I find I can shave a little time wih the paddle shifters (especially gearing down quickly) but the h-gate shifting is so much more fun. When attempting drifting runs, I use h-gate only...that way I know what gear Im in at all times

would the car lock up because there is too much revs??

I dont know about locking up, but the motor would suffer greatly just imagine going from top of fith gear to third gear with out the proper braking to match the revs :indiff: trust me it wouldnt be pretty.

For my DFP, I try to use whichever shifter suits the car, but occasionally I get frentic and tap a paddle so I can keep my hands on the wheel.

Better yet: Do you use ABS settings suitable to the cars?

I prefer the sequential shifter over the paddles unless it's a F1 car if the car is equipped with the sequential gearbox. Otherwise, I use the shifter. I don't mount the shifter on the left for RHD cars, but I should start.

i use the paddles when im ''racing''
but i like putting it on the H shifter and the clutch on when i wanna fool around drift around

cause i cant seem too do the same lap times with the clutch on since i have too take the foot completely off the gas
