I'm not too sure, but when you guys play (or have palyed) on your DS, does the back start to feel warm for a while?

2 of my friends said that a DS shouldn't heat up at all.

1 of them said that the N5, (the mod chip im using), is a crappy one and she says 'word has it that the n5 could overheat the system and bust up the internals'.

I've only played with this ds for about a week, and only been playing with this n5 of mine. I too believe its the n5 that somehow causes heat to build up. why? i don't have a clue.

My question stands, does your regualr game cartridges or other mod chips heat up when you play?

I have an R4, which is identical to the N5, and my DSL doesn't heat up at all. Ditto to when I play Phoenix Wright in them. Is your DSL still under warranty? Where did you get it?

What, did you gank it?
Without it being from a store (?), I would say you are SOL. You could talk to Nintendo about it, I guess, and not mention what you were using when it starts overheating.

N5 is crap! I know PLENTY of people who have brought their DS Lite to me for repair after the N5 killed it! It draws too much current and fries a fuse in the DS!

The N5 is your problem, NOT the DS Lite, I can 100% assure you of that!

Get rid of it and buy an R4, TTDS or similar!

ah i understand now why it heats up... no wonder my DS dies so quickly.

I am being careful though, when it gets moderately warm i stop playing. I should be fine like that, correct? as long as i dont fry this fuse. a cousin said he'll try to hook me up with a CycloDS, but my sister says she can 'currently' still order an R4, shipping and everything for 50$ roughly.

i'll see then this thursday when we have spoken to the guy who sold the n5 to my parents

Nope, cos it heats up due to drawing too much current, so any sign of heat means its drawing too much current! I would stop using it right away.

At this point, though the R4 is a great card (never failed me), it is currently overpriced and overrated. Try an get a DSTT or AceKard 2/AceKard R.P.G. (my personal favorites) instead unless you can get an R4 super cheap.

Luckily Guessed i got a TT exchanged...

but um all my skins are gone, i dont have a clue how i can change the font colors, and on top of that, all my SAV's cannot be read. which REALLY upset me

anything i shuold know aobut the TT?

There are programs that convert save formats, so don't worry too much about that. I don't really know much on the skinning side of things, though.
