Alexisonfire-Little Girls Pointing and Laughing. Odd title, great song by my favourite band. Nice slow song screamo punk song.

I'd want "Surfacing" by Slipknot. That's one of the most angry songs I've heard, and would nicely symbolize my one-man fight against the world :) It may not make God happy, but I'll take Hell if it means I can bring my Ibanez with me.

I got a new one. The Pixies "Where Is My Mind?". The vibe of that song makes it sound like something depressing and cool that I would love to be playing at my funeral.

Actually aftering hearing it on the radio today, I think "Fell on Black Days" by Soundgarden would be good as well.

I know what songs I want for my funerals... A tout le monde by Megadeth.

A tout le monde,
A tout mes amis,
Je vous aimes,
Je dois partir,
These are my last words,
I'll ever speak,
And they set me freeeeeeeeeeeee...

I don't really want a funeral to be held in my honor. But if I had to choose I can't think of a better pick than "Thanatos" from the Evangelion anime, the etymology of the word essentially means death, or 'death wish' according to Freud. The full orchestral version would be most appropriate.

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead - although it seems strangely appropriate given the topic!

I would still go with the previous songs I posted in this list, but I'm figuring that if they're going to play any of my favourite songs, I might as well make a night of it and throw a few more in for good measure...

I reckon I'd have to have "Curtains For You" by The Only Ones - not just because it's a brilliant song, but I love the lethargic, dismissive way Pete Perrett delivers the lyric "This means it's curtains FOR YOU!"... it would also be quite funny, I reckon :)

Just to liven things up a bit, I'd also quite like to have Pink Floyd - "Careful With That Axe, Eugene", which would certainly make people sit up and take notice (if they weren't already doing so...)

too much lyrics for a funeral ... if anybody would stand at my funeral, this is what I'd ask for :
- "Into the Dream" and "A Story Within the Story" from Pat Metheny's Imaginary Day,
- "For the Love Of God" from Steve Vai (fading out the speech in the last seconds)
- "The Jungle near the sea of tranquillity" and "the road to the last moai", from Zena Soundscape Project ... or anything ambient where I recorded a solo !

Well...if I picked 5 songs...

I Will Always Return - Bryan Adams
All I Need - Within Temptation
Blurry - Puddle of Mudd
Wherever You Will Go - The Calling
You're Not Alone - Shanti Snyder & Maaya Sakamoto, from the Escaflowne Movie soundtrack

And as an odd finish...

Goodbye - Alan Silvestri, from the Predator Soundtrack, minus the last 17 seconds...I like it >->
