Why can't PD create a website similar to this one:
http://www.sonicthehedgehog4.co.uk/en/
They appear to be publishing new content based on a countdown with several areas locked until the current countdown have completed. Of course a GT5 website will not be as cartoony, but this method will stop any complaints from us fans as we will then know when a new bit of content is going to be published. It may, as McLaren suggested be an image of one of their cars a day - with 1000 cars, they could delay the game until 2012!
the count-downs could be for a number of things, like:-
car images/anouncements,
approved track names,
teasers that leave us guessing about the game and open up discussion/excitement on the forums - everyone loves catchphrase, what about something like that with GT5!
new trailers,
game features,
GT TT news,
etc
There would be a hell of a lot of damage control with this method as they only seem to be causeing damage to themselves at the moment with the hype they created and then backed sheepishly out of. I hope PD read the comments on this website by the way, as it would be arrogant not to. If they do, why don't they post anything! I still remember one blogger for playstation home called 'tedthedog' who was constantly quelling the anger that home was crap in the first stages as well as teasing updates to keep fans engaged. he spoke to the users on their level and apologised about delays and bugs etc etc, that's why he stuck in my mind. Anyone else agree with this, or anyone else rememver tedthedog?
