Sony had a press conference today and according to Gamespot has confirmed that GT4 will be released in the Fall in North America. Yikes! Also announced was that GT4 will support the new hard drive. I'm not sure if this was already confirmed or not.

Check out the link above and look at the new screens. Motion blur!! Looking good.

Good thing I have GT4 Prologue, Colin McRae Rally 4 and WRC3 to hold me off until this game comes out. Plus, I'll have World of Warcraft to play too.

I was hoping for Summer 2004, but if the game will be released by the time school starts for Fall 2004, then I might have to enroll for "Gran Turismo 2301." In other words, I'll be sure to play GT by Fall.

That may have been corny, but I was hoping for earlier.

Haha, fall! Haha, I remember when it was due last freaking year. Haha.

I'll be happy as long as they release a quality game.

Even my cynical ass wasn't expecting to wait until at least late-September.

i figured they'd re anouce hd support. your 1000 car fantacys could end up true.

****! I bet my family's life that there wouldn't be one-thousand cars. Oh well, I liked them while they lasted.

do ya know the meaning of the word could

I know the meaning of could. And I know the meaning of rhetoric. :)

Do you know of the shift key or question mark key?

Tune in next week, folks.

Oh, do you still render those fancy 3D cars?! I remember viewing some of them on the old GTF. Pretty awesome!

Fall, huh? I wont be surprised if it gets delayed to Winter.

Whoa. Are those CG? I seem to recall the maximum resolution of the PS2 is 640x480, yet these are 1024x768

Edit: Hey, the 350Z looks like it's not on the ground. There's no shadow... :odd:

Well I think i'll be ordering a Japanese one, i'm too much of a GT whore not to.

These screenshots look pre-rendered, so it's most likely they'll be part of the intro. And I just saw a CRX that looked like that with the square'ish headlights.

Lovely, lovely and lovely! AW11

You can see the front wheels through the fenders on that pic... You'd think, after 3 games and nearly 10 years, they'd try and fix that.

That looks like a reflection of something to me, it doesn't quite match up to the angle of the wheel.

10 years?! Did I miss something?

It doesn't even look like it's coming through the fender. Not that it matter when you're racing. Unless I'm racing you, then it would be bothersome in the rear-view mirror.

*drools at screenshots*

That is definately a reflection not a bug.

In the screenshot where the 350Z cast no shadow, it kind of looks like the two cars are runing in separete lanes. could this have to do with drag racing.:odd: Does somebody knows what is that other car besides the 350Z.

I doubt those pics are pre-rendered, maybe they're doctored or something. I don't look as detailed as the intro pics of GT4p so they must be replay shots or sometihing or has the latest gt4 build got a little prettier? Anyway, I hope to see some gt4 vids because SCEA has their convention going on today. But I could be wrong about what I said but at that site you see some huge pics of a track, and we know those scenes couldn't be apart of a intro.

Well if it was running at that res on the PS2 it would probably run @ 15fps ;)

Motion blurring is probably for the intro, or atleast I'd expect it wouldn't be as 'strong' in game. Blurring can chew up a fair amount of cpu/gpu time.

Nice pics nonetheless, on a TV it will probs look nearly as good since TV's are good at 'hiding' lower resolutions.

:(

Fall for NA?

Great.... That means, judging from past releases, we won't get it in Europe for at least another year. :banghead:

GT4P better come to the U.S. now.... thats all I gotta say...

Heh, fair enough. I was typing with one hand.

i have not made any new cars latley. I just cant find the time.

Well I can't say GT: P kept me that engrossed, since theres not much too it really. Although it is a promising sign of things to come.

Still for now I've got Sega GT Online :D

Nice pics, does anyone know if Sony are still planning a world wide release on a certain day like they originally were.

Is it just me, or does the softtop on the S2000 look like poo? The windowframe looks like it was drawn in MS Paint. Aside from that, screens look impressive.

Yeah, since when does the canvas on a soft top come down the A-pillar?

Race Idiot, what's the red car in the picture you posted?

PunkRock, is the silver car an Infiniti G35 Coupe(Skyline Coupe)? It sure resembles it.
