Kind of smart if you have the option to import music from CDs like the XBOX did. ;)

No. iTunes imports music from CDs. What's wrong with that? Got a problem with Apple or something?

Yeah... when everyone starts supplying crap excusively for them and nothing else I do. I don't feel like being on the "you will get and listen to your music this way because we said so" bandwagon.

Um what? You burn music from whatever you want, take the CD to the PS3, import the music, and your done... What's the "you will get and listen to your music this way because we said so" bandwagon?

Assle or even Sony will probably try to work somethin out to their advantage I bet.

I will not have anything to do with...

1. Assle

2. an iPoo

3. proprietary software that tells me I have to use my music their way.

Then why are you using Windows?

Thats really good news, because sony will want to boycott anything to do with Microsoft and Xbox 360........seeing as they are not going to 'be given' any technology from the windows front then at least they can side with the enemy, apple! Apple have the best UI and solidity and it would be great to encoperate iTunes and iPod.........Luckly I did jump on that bandwagon! :sly:

The PS3 may end up being white(a colour that gets dirty quickly)

White is :yuck:

I don't see why it has to be just Apple, it coudl be it will alow other players just they won't have all the added features.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone finds a way to allow the PS3 to recognize other MP3 players in a few months after launch. Just hang tight!

But I do agree, they shouldn't make it an Apple exclusive feature. It seems like Apple is trying to create a monopoly in the MP3 player market...

Understatement of the century. But good for Apple, they played the game and at the moment they're winning.
I hate all this negative attitude towards Apple, what's it all about? It sounds like you're just jumping on some kind of bandwagon :yuck:

I think the innovation is a good one. I haven't got an iPod, but just because i don't doesn't mean i don't appreciate the idea.

Well said.

I used itunes before i even got an ipod, and i'm running windows. I use it because it lets you import them in mp3 form, unprotected, so i can use it in movie maker :).

As you may have noticed from my desktop, i am an apple fan -

HELLO ?

Who cares about listening to music on PS3 ... we have a new console generation in front of us, with new GT's, GTA's etc, probably great animated worlds full of moving objects in High Def with 10 Gigaflops or more ( I read 32, but well I want to see that first) and you talk about a third class feature like listening to music ? No you even start a

can you use itunes and all that jazz with an iriver?

i think it's a good thing. but, they will need to work multiple player compatability into it.

Well fine, if you're incapable of engaging in the discussion, then don't. Your input was hardly helpful anyway. Every feature that the PS3 has is an important one and it's going to be more like a media centre than just a gaming console. If you're just bothered about a gaming console, stick with your SNES. Some people think change is a good idea.

If this turns out to be correct, it can only be good. Just plug in your iPod, thats already got your music collection in mp3 format (no SLOW xbox style ripping from CD...) and copy it to PS3 (a HD is likely...). Use your music instead of the crap game music in every game. Sounds like a great efficient way to do it.

How does iPod/itunes limit what you do with your music? What the? Its just standard mp3 format. Can be played on anything nearly. iTunes is brilliant. This can ONLY be a good feauture.

1. I know this thread is about Apple and Sony = about the music feature of PS3...
And although I think that it is a rather unimportant feature, this discussion has its reasons. Probably you're right : If I don't care about the feature, then why talk about it? This has a good thing however, I think I'm gonna play a little Super Famicom tonight, a few cups F-Zero and Mario Kart and some levels Super Mario World and 1 & 2... enjoying 16 Bit sound....

Edit : Oh and 2. : Yes I also think that changes are good...sometimes....

I'm just hopin it's compatible with my creative. I didn't jump for an apple because at the time battery life wasn't quite great and the price was significantly higher (as it still is). I really haven't had any reason to regret getting something a bit different. It does peev me when people call it an ipod though but thats brand generalization for ya.

I have a feeling even if the ipod is the best supported mp3 playeron the ps3, most big ones will be capable of transfering. At worst you'll have to use a USB pen or cd's to do your transfer.

👍 :D Good man. I'm gonna have to go buy a SNES someday.

OT:

Does anyone know the spec of the harddisk in the PS3? Would be awesome if it could store and play divX movies as well as MP3s etc.
