Sorry about the over the top language Daan.

Why should RR7 be crap ? It's Ridge Racer, some like it, others don't. Nevertheless the game runs smoothly on 1080P, it's fast, great gameplay...

So...NO, RR7 isn't crap, Rawgee and Ebiggs simply don't like it ;)

Max please ignore those two. They're probably from Neogaf and just trying to get a rise out of me , but it's not working ;)

They know darn well Ridge Racer 7 is the greatest videogame ever created, surpassing even all the Gran Turismos and Metal Gear Solids combined!

First Im new to this community and i dont even know what "neogaf" is... I was just joking dont you think its a bit extreme to use a game for glass coaster...

Anyway like Max said its true i dont like the game but i respect your choice to like it but please dont compare an arcade race game to a Stealth Action game like Metal Gear Series.

I hope Studio Liverpool & Sony finally come to their senses and release an FFB patch for Formula 1 Championship ....then I will FINALLY buy a PS3 so I can play F1 and GTHD!!!!!!!!!!!

from your lips to God's ears ..... let's hope they do the right thing.

I'll probably be turning my rumble off in every single game except for MGS.

Still excited to see FF return to GT though.

Am I correct in assuming that MGS is an acronym for Metal Gear Solid, if so I wasn't aware steering wheels are compatible with 3rd person shooters

-> Finally they reached an agreement, and now the PS3's Siaxxis controller will be the ultamate standard controller in the bussiness. (:

-> Wireless or not if it concerns about the added weight of the controller, I don't mind as long as the current design is unchanged.

It probably isn't, but the rumble feature of the DS controllers is. ;)

Uhh, yeah. That is exactly what we're doing. RR7 is the greatest game ever created because all you have to do is let off the gas, touch the steering, and complete a perfect 80 degree drift at over 150mph. All without thinking about it.

Great game, I tell ya...

</sarcasm>

Good news.

Do you really think that God cares?

of course he does, me and him were playing Virtual Fighter 5 and he said that my constant winning didn't count cause he couldnt "feel" the ass kicking

P.S. "from your lips to gods ears" is a saying. not to be taken literally......relax. Im going to get struck by lighting now.:nervous:

The game is not crap, you just don't like it. So i wouldn't go telling people not to play or buy it because you dont like it. It is a great game,i didn't think that until i messed around with RR tuning system and learened the nitrous rhythms for some tracks .

RR7 has something no other Ridge Racer has had, depth in its gameplay scheme. I know it plays like all the other RR games but, good players will kill you in races if you think thats all(from what you described) you have to do and you will never win the tough races in carrer mode. Me and isamu may just be the biggest RR fans on this board so we know much about the games.

Yes, i know I'm overly defensive but i get sick of hearing people say Ridge racer games suck. They are not GT and they dont try to be and RR was here long before gran turismo and will always be here until people stop buying it. Getting to 7 they must have done something right. To the average gamer it may be 7 material but to a person that knows RR games its closer to a 9.

AMEN TO THAT BABY, AMEN TO THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍

RR7 IS THE GREATEST GAME EVER AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT!

Ok, maybe RR7 is a decent, maybe good game... but the greatest game ever? Now come on, you can do better than that.

You can say that about any game. Would it sound any better at all if I said, compared to all the racing games I've played, RR7 is the least fun? Apart from learning the "rhythms" of the courses and the bit of tuning, what makes it such a wonderful game to you?

When I played, I found that nothing that you would do in real life works. You use the brakes once every three or four races, there are very few corners that you can take without doing a 90 degree drift. Don't make this sound like I'm some anti-RR fanboy. I unfortunately bought the game after reading pretty good reviews. Maybe I should have just watched one video to see how dull the driving is. I bought RR7 because it was a racing game. I expected there to be some sort of technique used while drifting apart from holding the gas, but it couldn't be any more different.

People go on and on about how "such and such game's" physics are off and that the cars drive like they're on rails or whatever. IMO this game makes even NFS:Carbon feel like a sim.

I'd go on some more, but it would contain too many opinions and not back it up with 100% proven facts about the game that make it "not fun to me".

I do have a feeling that I'm in the majority here (not that I want people taking sides). I'm done with this argument unless you guys can reply maturely instead of yelling at me that my opinion is wrong.

That said, I'll give it another try tomorrow.

Edit: To isamu...How about trying to be a bit more mature and follow the rules around here. Turn off CAPS, at least put a word for your location, and stop jumping on people's backs.

Ok look, it's like this : You don't like it, but it isn't crap. Because as soon as one person on this planet likes it, it can't be absolute crap. Simple as.

So what we can do, is talking about several aspects of the game, gameplay, graphics, car veriety, sound, game structure and motivation etc

You only focus on the simulation aspect, which is fine, but you have to understand, that it is only one aspect, not more. It seems to be very important to you, again fine, but not necessarily for others.

I love realistic racing games like GT and Enthusia, but I also like Wipeout, F-zero and Ridge Racer.

Ridge Racer can be a loit of fun, it's fast, it's a pleasure to handle the cars, they seem to dance on th track, sounds a little gay, but maybe you know what I mean... the game has style... you don't have to like it and I wouldn't say it's the best racing game out there, but it certainly is no crap. Period.

Is this a Ridge Race thread or Sony & Immersion thread? ;)

EDIT: Duck beat me to it

I guess that makes the future of force-feedback pretty solid, don't it?

So, everybody can just shut the hell up about how much GT5 is gonna suck without it.

Yes we can now all quieten down about it.
Job well done though!!
Sony were stead fastly adamant they were going to push ahead without the technology, but due to immense critiscism from gamers, like us, the gaming media, and software developers Sony have made a complete u turn.
theyve realised the errors of their stubborn ways, opened their eyes, dropped their legal fight, paid up and signed a new agreement. woo hoo!!!

without all the negative comments we wouldnt be in this position right now.
GT5 would have sucked without FFB, for those who love racing games with a feedback wheel!
Now ihave something to look forward to once againwith the PS3 and my shiney new G25 and racing cockpit!:sly:

Couldn't have put it better myself:tup:

We need a FFB patch for Formula One ASAP! Its really hard for me to get used to the light steering, especially with just 180 degrees lock to lock.

Use the controller until then. 👍

No, I think it is still going to be more fun with a wheel, FFB or not. F1 looks like it will take a while to get the hang of, especially if you use the cockpit view. You aren't able to see upcoming turns well due to the low position and incredible sense of speed.

And the over the top sun effects in trial mode makes it impossible to see the track at all in some places!

I use the cockpit view in most games but in this one I use the camera position on the airbox so I can see farther down the track.

I'm starting to get the hang of it with the DFP but it's so twitchy on center I've only been able to get silvers on the times so far because inital turn in is so critical & so hard to hit right the way it's set now.
I am lookig forward to full FF & more than 180 lock to lock!

Ebiggs & Moose, great points. I tired picking up a copy of F1CE, but they were sold out at BB and GS. When I get it, I had planned on only using the controller, but I'll try using my wheel.

BTW: Ok, everyone (including myself) needs to stop with the F1CE banter. Let's stay on topic. ;)

I wonder how long it will be before patches will be availible?
GTHD should be easy since it already has it in Japan but I hope it comes out soon for F1 CE & Motorstorm!

Message from Consumer:
Now that the legal matters with Immersion are over, I am expecting that Steering Wheel Force Feedback will be implemented on the PS3 via the much anticipated March Firmware Update. Please do not disappoint me again. The primary reason that I bought the PS3 was because I greatly enjoyed the experience of playing GT4 on the PS2 with the Logitech Driving Force Pro Wheel, and I was expecting a much more rewarding experience with the GTHD Demo than what I am getting. I realize that GT5 is a good ways off, time wise, but if I don't get Force Feedback capability very soon, I will sell the PS3.

The comments in my message are truthful. Others may not think that FFB, is important, but to me, the lack of it breaks GTHD, and all other racing games that I presently own. Rumble is another matter, but in my opinion, it is even more important than what the Sixaxis presently provides.
