Torque is part of Horsepower. Thus, they go together. the other component of Horsepower is Rotational Velocity. Increase torque, increase horsepower. Increase Rotational Velocity, increase horsepower. Horsepower is a measure of energy. Torque is a measure of linear force applied to a beam at an outside point, causing it to turn or twist.
In other words, Take your little Revvers vs. big-blocks somewhere else. They're both good. The actual quality of the engine is what matters.
