Sorry, but this car hacking / glitching is a gimmick.

Long time no see mr_serious.

Looks like some of us never read the whole license agreement or terms of use when clicking agree at 1st use of a software or online service ...

I couldn't find the GT5 Terms as an online "file", but I'm sure it says, close to, the same as above 👍.

A licence agreement/terms of use is nothing more than a contract between the user and the company offering it. If you violate it, they are perfectly in their right to terminate the service being provided just as is the case in any other contract between two parties, but (again) no one has been saying that PD have no right to take such an action in response to save file hacking.

Understood. Agreements and certain promises have not been lived up to in the relationship between GT and the consumer. :indiff:

If some jerk tries to sell me a modified version of this game I will blow the whistle. :grumpy:

Writing on paper, folding paper, eating paper, wrapping things in paper...it is all legal. :dunce:

So, enjoy your gaming. :dopey:

I know I will. :sly:

Well look what I found.

I believe it explains everything and says otherwise.

That's saying the exact same thing in greater detail. If you violate your PSN ToS, you can (and probably will) be banned from PSN and thus those things listed on that page will take effect on your PSN account. It's no different from when people are banned from XBL, except in that case you are forfeiting your payment for XBL services (though I presume the same applies to PS+ payments as well). No one has been saying Sony cannot do this. What has been being said is that that is a completely different thing from Sony taking legal action against you, because banning you from PSN is (in this case) the extent of the legal action that they can take.

You are right!

Exploiting a Game Glitch
Exploiting any issue/environment, not intended to be accessible, to give oneself an unfair advantage in online play.

Verbal/Text Abuse
Offender was verbally abusive in some way, often including use of profanity, verbal threats or insults, or otherwise offensive or inappropriate language. This can be either via verbal or text comments.

These things are outlined as violations of the agreements.

Furi, to be honest, you're not gonna keep others from using them. Why do you even care if others use them and get banned anyway? That would be less random idiots online. This is similar to when I go on about driving aids. No matter how much you whine, you won't change peoples opinions.

So, using a hybrid online is in equal breach to cursing someone during a race online. Big whoop.

What I got from it, wasn't that it's either illegal nor that PD/SONY doesn't have the rights to sue ("hackers") from breaking their contract - they do. I'm not sure what takes to get sued, and I don't care (), as I'll never break any contracts I "sign".

Ah, a reader who connects the dots. :dopey:

And more to the point, someone else must be offended enough to report it. So, I would surmise that in a community where such souped-up, curse-ridden racing is desired, the phrase, "no harm, no foul" would be in order. :scared:

Could that be right?

Not whining, I was giving an opinion.

Your opinion is valid. I also think it is a fad that will pass. That statement alone would have worked. The legal debate is the thread killer.

I have never duped a car, accepted a duped car, (now that I think about it, I have received gift cars) or taken part in any of the tinkery-techno glitch-cheat business, because I don't care to, and probably can't, figure out how it all works.

That being said, it seems to me that the gamer community has a very involved tinkery-techno subculture who will break games, find/create cheats, and otherwise rape the system. They value it.

The fact that you don't allows you to enjoy yourself, offline at least.

My advise is always this. Find or build a community of like-minded players and have fun. ;)

I totally agree why hack I have noticed it more recently on gt5 and also on bf3 and yes it may be fun for you but it ain't for the rest of us if you are gonna cheat why bother ?? :(

It's clear PD need to introduce a way to block such cars in online lobbies.

What they should do is make it an option, what they'll probably do is to try to make it impossible.

Because it's more fun. I certainly don't want to deal A-Spec. I buy racing sims to race and enjoy cars, not grind money. The modded cars are an easy way to make the boring part of the game go by much, much faster.

So tell me you like sims in what year we will see a 3k hp civic or a 7khp gt-r? that is just stupid really.

What does that have to do with what he said.

I agree with this too. I fiddled around with the X1 for an afternoon. It was fun to screw with the AI so much, but the extent I actually care about hybrids is when you can do the kind of things you can do in GT3 (bigger, torquier engine in a Miata; replicas of real life cars, etc.). And I'm sure once the novelty goes off, the main focus on it that it has had now will die down to the same levels that hybriding has always had since GT4 (ie. a handful of people who want to extend the game for themselves).

If you don't like 'em. Don't drive 'em.

Let other people make their own Decisions.

How about the people that are driving them in public lobby's and ruining other people's races? No one is impressed when someone shows up with a 3000hp Civic and crushes everyone else with ease. It ruins the experience for everyone else.

I agree with Furi here. I don't like the hybrid cars either. If people want high HP numbers, let's get PD to unlock the hidden turbo and engine upgrades.

Then the host can use this really Awesome feature that PD put in the game. It's called the kick button. It's really useful. Wouldn't you say?

These hybrid cars are useless in a properly set up race lobby anyway, so I don't get how it's going to ruin online racing. A group of us have been racing the hybrid kart in our own lobby and it's a lot of fun, it's like a shifter kart in steroids. We just race for fun, no penaltys, no tire wear/fuel consumption, and no damage.

This, and most of the drifting side of it is just for fun. The amount of torque is insane, and actually counterproductive ;)

Just went down to my local newsagent...

For all that read this post... Be aware that this is a joke. Nothing to find online, about this Brendan...

P.S.: is posting information that is false, not against the AUP?

Yep, it's against the AUP

Acceptable Use Policy
You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate.

But I don't think this is worth a penalty, some news are fake and we don't know about it

Obviously not true.

Thanks for the clarification! I thought it was real I did.

I've just been down to my police station.

I walked in triumphantly and exclaimed
"I'm here to turn myself in, I am no longer fit to rub shoulders with other folk"

I was immediately pounced on by about 7 large men.
They beat me for about 12 hours. Stopping only to get their breath and spray mace directly into my open eyes.

They kept saying things like "You make me sick" and
"Was it worth it... punk?"

At the end of the 12 hours one rookie cop said,
"Hang on a minute.. what did you turn yourself in for?"

I stood up, battered from head to toe and spat in his face.
"I borrow glitched my friends 3000Bhp Civic"

They proceeded to beat me for another 6 hours,
some of the police even did overtime in order to beat me.

Bail was posted at €50,000 euro. I'm looking at 25 to life.

I think this post may also not be true and it is against the OP. What do you think guys?

I agree with this.

Although I still haven't had a chance to use one of these, the tools are there to kick the people who decide to use these in online races. Plus at least in my experience with this game since it got released, the community of GT5 is really nice and as long as you have a lobby of people who you know that they will follow the rules, everything is gonna be fine, if they start being unruly, kick them. But yes... these things can be a minor peeve when paired up with the people who just like to cheat to win.
:guilty:
