No, thanks
I just got kicked of a room because the host didn't like foreight people ....

I think it's very stupid and xenophobic just because I'm from other country to be kicked.

Have any of you got a experience like that ?
I would like you all to share it :)

I wouldn't use the term racist (even within brackets) to describe what I think you've experienced, xenophobia.
Racism is a form of xenophobia but a very specific one which you can't misuse for what you're describing.
Oh, and I probably should inform you there already are a few threads regarding this.

I didn't knew the term in english and also I didn't knew it.

Thanks

**** happens, happened to me yesterday. It happens a lot. I don't care anymore, just move on to the next server till you find a fun group to race with.

If it is any comfort to you, I always find a fun clean room to enjoy racing, useally within half an hour.

This sorta thing happens a lot in online. You just gotta move on and not take it too seriously.

Here's a thread discussing people who kick people from other countries.

Flag Haters

It happened to me yesterday, in a UK room. I think it has only happened, with either UK or AUS-rooms, but I don't care, for me, are GT5's online feature for fun only, and as said earlier, just find another room and don't think about it. The best advise.
Edit: No offence to either UK or AUS people!

Sometimes they do it just because people far away can have bad connection speeds. But if it's a close location then it's probably xenophobia. Or if they specifically say they hate foreigners.

Yea that's ridiculous.

I also saw some 🤬 🤬 that wouldn't allow anyone with 420 at the end of their PSN ID in the room. I joined anyways, and of course the d bag kicked me ASAP.

I just don't understand how people can be that much of a massive 🤬

A lot of people, me included, have seen people from other countries lagging in races far more often than people from their own countries. Here's a novel thought:idea: How about instead of assuming the worst...ie. racism...we just assume it's because of the fear of lag which has been pervasive in GT5 since day 1, rather than some kind of flag hating, unless of course it's specifically stated.

Why does the "race" or "xenophoia" card so often have to be the first assumption? I find that very sad... And even if it is the truth, ignore it and move on...life is just too short to waste even a solitary breath over an almost inconsequential injustice like this...💡

I personally kick most people who are not from NA due to the fact I get such bad LAG when I am trying to race with anyone in my area much less a whole other continent. Sometimes it isn't that you aren't liked, its that what you bring with too.

I get kicked otu of Japanese drift rooms all the time, especially once i get the fastest lap time (which is irrelevant in a drift room) And it's not becuase of lag either...Some people are just haters, or they're intimidated.

Yeah I probably agree with this to some extent.

If you don't want foreigners in your room put it in the room title. It's more frustrating when you do put it in the title ( I put in oz or Nz only because of lag issues) but guys from overseas join anyway.

That said, it's even more frustrating that we can't enjoy the game with solid connection with people from all over the world. It's just all too hard apparently.

There's never enough room in the titles to include every detail of necessary description. I have trouble naming rooms without worrying about people from foreign countries.

Agree, you can't put every detail in. When I run a room and want "locals" only I always put in "oz and NZ clean or kick". If someone else joins I will kick them but only after sending them a message.

If I don't mind who joins I just put clean or kick. As for looking for a room to join it can be a bit of a lottery. As someone else said it might take a few tries, but a full room is generally a good indication in my experience.

As a host to a drift room for Aus and NZ drifters it does annoy me that people from other countries come on. However, the reason is that 90% of all foreign drifters have bad connection and lag up the room. If a foreign driver has a lag free connection then I'm usually happy with him drifting in the room.

They kick people from other countries mostly to avoid lagging issues and to have a better communication between the players. By the way nice name 👍

How often do you play on public online? Most of the time it's the latter instead. Not to count the fact that slow connections are usually linked to the host if anything from what I've experienced in both public and private rooms. We usually tell foreigners to try and reconnect to see if their connecting gets better if they are the ones lagging.

Most of the time (especially the nascar and muscle car rooms) the host kicking is American and will say something like "I kicked them cause their flag is weird" or "dang foreigners don't know english very well" but with cursing.

A lot of people are claiming that it's to avoid lag... but I guarantee you, when someone says "****ing Canadians!" and then a message "{insert name here} has left the room", it's racism... And this is all I see. I've never seen anyone or had myself get kicked silently. Unfortunately, it seems to be the Americans causing most of the offenses... which is INCREDIBLY embarrassing being from the U.S. myself. I don't see any reason to be racist against the Canadians... or really ANY person from ANY region... we're all humans, right...?

Just wanna clean up Australia's case. Down Under, we don't have optic fibre connections, so our internet is quite slow. So to avoid lag and you may see many 'Aussie Only' Rooms. (:

Why people nag for being kicked from online rooms? They don't like you, that's it take your own way and leave them alone. They do not have to like you, you don't have to like them. They do not owe it to you, you don't owe it to them so why persist? It is you the one that becomes rude by wanting to join a group of players no matter what.
I am sure that there are other rooms with people willing to let you join them. Find some and stick to those. Make friends and play happy after

- Understandable.

Could be lag issues as stated, or they could just want to play the game with people from their own country. I can't see a problem with that as long as they don't become obnoxious about it.

Could be anonying mic using
Edit:Nah it cant be that cos there is mute option :)

I'd kick Spaniards out, not met a clean one yet!

In that case , sorry but it's true , I forgot to mention that the host judged my because of a crazy x1 spanish guy :indiff:

If you are a North American and go into a Spanish room and the host says, "Johnny, aquí están las reglas para racing hoy" (from a translator, don't shoot me if it doesn't make sense) most of us will have no idea what that means. If you are in a room where they don't speak english and you do, and you get kicked, get over it. Likewise if you're flying a French flag (eg. only) and you get kicked from an American room, get over that. If you can't follow the simple instructions or the host doesn't think you can, what's the big deal? Most of us just want to get down to racing, not take time and try to explain that there are no cars of a certain type allowed to someone who doesn't speak English or vice versa.

This is all much ado about nothing.:ouch:
