I just got kicked of a room because the host didn't like foreight people ....

I think it's very stupid and xenophobic just because I'm from other country to be kicked.

Have any of you got a experience like that ?
I would like you all to share it :)

Dude people join my room telling me to kick foreign and i kick them.. (im brittish/ jamaican and use american flag) its pretty stupid..Plus you guys are usually better drivers anyways :sly:

When you have friends playing in a lobby and you join only to be kicked, then it is a problem.

I personally kick most people who are not from NA due to the fact I get such bad LAG when I am trying to race with anyone in my area much less a whole other continent. Sometimes it isn't that you aren't liked, its that what you bring with too.

I would agree. Some networks introduce lag to compensate for high ping. Sometimes having a ping outside of the average, it can create advantages or disadvantages to other players.

If I am to host a game (any game), I want players with similar ping as I for the best online experience.

I think that culturally this tends to happen much more in Europe than in NA for obvious reason.
Anyway as someone rightly pointed out I'm very sceptical of playing with someone from Australia (I'm saying Australia because it is in the same area of Europe). I don't know how is it possible to have a low lag with such a distance occuring between players.
By the way distance of course isn't the only factor involved but it's far the easiest to check when you're in game.

Heheh, trolling French Canadians. My in-game flag is Canadian, and the people from the province Québec make "QC only" rooms, so I join, having the same flag, and join their "QC rooms only."

Then, right before I leave, I tell them "Oh, btw, I'm not from QC." :sly:

These people can have their own language rooms, and their own connection problems, but, I think, that if the person speaks the language (I speak four languages) they should be allowed to stay. So, I've gotten into rooms with "German only" despite my Canadian flag.

Of course, if you're from a really obscure country, and you're still looking for good racing, you could visit the Online Competitions. I, for one, have no problems with any countries.

In my ITCC series, I'm running with people from everywhere; whether it's so far north as Denmark, or as far south as South Africa.

Also, post above, Austria and Australia are completely different countries. Austria is the land in Europe, and Australia is the land of kangaroos, slightly south of the kiwis. There's a difference between yodelling near Switzerland (in the aptly named Swiss Alps), and driving a safari truck through the Australian outback.

Don't hate me for this, but I do the same thing after nearly a year of racing online. Brazilians I've the worst luck with... they lag horribly or they drive like they own the road (Dirty). As far as the rest of the world, they usually just lag. At this point, I boot anything that is not US, Canada, or UK. If it lags, it's gone. The only reason that we kick for the flag is to keep the room connection as strong as possible and connecting to the US from half way around the world is a recipe for a frozen room and hours of lost data. It's nothing personal.

There's one country (won't name names) that seems to have a lot of unscrupulous drivers and I get tempted to kick them on the spot, but then realize that's not cool so I give them a chance and sometimes they prove me right, sometimes they prove me wrong. But there's good drivers and idiots from every country.

OK OK I'm talking about Brazilians too! They act like clean drivers until they think you're not watching.

Quick! Polite people! Unsubscribe! A war of words is about to start here... And it won't be pretty.

I think nationality, no matter which one, is always a touchy subject, and specifically calling out one nationality is a bad idea. Whether you call it xenophobia or racism, I just call it "Bad idea."

Nothing to see here, move along....
