I've been visiting a lot of thread about music and I noticed that people like the songs from previous games. Then I thought, why not sell the soundtracks as DLC on PSN? That way people can have their favorite music and it's not hard to implement.

Some might be wondering about the licensed songs, but PD does not have to include licenced music, although, they can try to license as much as possible. This means that the songs have to be limited to GT3 and newer.

Also some might ask "why not just buy the soundtracks and use user BGM?". Well you can't mix GT6 and GT5 or 4 music legally since there's no CD soundtrack for GT6. Also there's the game seems to handle ingame BGM better than the user BGM. Finally, because the soundtracks can only be used for the game PD can charge less money than their CD counterparts.

So who's with me with the new music revolution?

It would be easier to download every song that you would like, put them on your PS3, and use that in-game.

downloading is illegal but so is other things that are worse

I thoroughly approve of both this idea, and the option to add music to the in-game soundtrack rather than simply choosing the music provided, OR adding your own. I've never understood why you have to have one thing or the other with the music, and not a combination. Perhaps somebody here knows why; I would love to combine some of Isamu Ohira's GT4 menu music with the lounge, jazz and bossanova tunes already in GT6!

Gt'5 music is incredible better than gt6 but i'm fear that isn't possible to add without a licence of the industries.
The only way may be to add your own music on the game. Not sure that's possible on gt6 like on gt5.

If this feature were being worked on now, it would be good to add another category in the music options, something like a "soundtrack selection" thing that would allow the user to mix different soundtracks or just exclude whole lists of music. I'd find it to be of great use since I for the most part, hate the music they've chosen for GT6.

A bit like @Gotmished's idea.

@spencer7x7 Yes, it has taken this long to respond to you but...

PD does not own the rights to the music they used in previous games, so using Panama (for example) would be just fine.

Using music that you legally bought, then copied to your PS3 and using at the user BGM is not illegal.

The number one song from previous GT's that I want back in GT6 is Light Velocity Ver. II.

It's all it the first post, PD obviously does not have the rights to songs like Dragula or others, but it's safe to say that they can easily licence at least every Daiki Kasho song, which is why the song DLC should be paid just like Dead or Alive's song DLC.

As for using the user BGM, I've heard that user BGM is a bit laggy and buggy, plus you can't mix user BGM with the game's. It this was possible there might not be a need for this suggestion, but that's for another thread.

I was able to put in over 100 songs for my personal BGM list, most of which came from GT1 - GT4. I also made my own menu themes the same way. Why have DLC when you can just transfer from your PC? Simple and straight to the point! =)
