When using the Hauppuage HD PVR you cant run your HDMI cable while recording from the PS3. So when recording while playing, you wont have HD. Thats just a small sacrifice but your videos will be full HD.

I went to buy one while in NYC but they didnt have any in stock so i didnt worry about it.

I wouldnt waste $15 on one. Id rather have the HD. But it comes with a big price tag.

Oh ok. ull have to get one of those leads then. was gonna say spend a lil more and get one of the winfast dtv 1000S cards but they are for desktops.

Hmmm well that make me wonder if I should get a set top box that can record to an external harddrive.

The "Easy Cap" takes the red, yellow and white cables and puts them into a USB recording device. It does work well and is worth $15, but you need a fair bit of HDD space on your PC.

That I have, but now I'm wondering if they have HDMI adapters?

Anyone else see that new team popping up with a few Aus members?

I guess PSN will be working again "Soon". If they dare use that word "soon" we'll know it could be a matter of weeks possibly even months.

Wait, so they do have HDMI adapters?

Now everyone is saying that we get PSN Plus for free and our accounts will get free credits or something along those lines, slight possibility for either of those.

did you have a look at the link i posted up to the card i am gonna get??

Wow looks good, imagine the quality of the replays with that thing on GT5.

The Hauppauge HD PVR records from component (YPbPr) video, and composite video, but not HDMI.

Oh, bummer. Looks like Dazzle HD or decklink is the only way to go. But the price looks hefty and you actually have to attch it onto your PC?

Yes you to have to have a spare 2 PCI Express slots for that one. How ever i just noticed this one for about $100 less and only needs one slot and here is a video of its recording capabilities.

You will need to go to the youtube site and click on 720I to get the full quality of the video.

Well I'd rather a seperate component rather than a attachment onto a PC. I've seen the quality of a Hauppuage HD PVR on 360 and PS3, I think I'll go for Hauppuage.

The main reason why im going for that card is because i will use my computer for everything then and i can then record the free run's we do in GT5. Think i will have to upgrade my hdd as well :)

The HD PVR requires a PC (attaches via USB). I don't know of a device that can record to HD quality that doesn't require a PC.

All my GT5 videos on my youtube page (link in sig) were made using the HD PVR. The originals are obviously better quality as it records at 1920x1080.

HD PVR is probably easier for me as I only have a laptop.

Those videos have decent quality BTW.

So, I got bored on GT5 and thought Id go shopping for a new car. Here it is:

Its funny, this car is not chrome... like most of my new cars are LOL.

Man cant wait for the PSN to be back up.

I just took that Camaro round the Ring. 655hp 1824kg stock transmission. Best lap: 6:56.896.

That Camaro is spot on with the real life one shown in the picture. Me likes it.
