Spam used to be a slew of advertisements for lousy products. Now they're spamming us with rediculous hacking schemes. The spelling is out the window, but other than that I can see how thousands of people will fall for this. I can't fault the spammer / hacker for realizing they can get rich quick by abusing the unintelligent.

I give you, "Trully yours, eBay"

It's scary to think that someone would type their ATM pin into an e-mail message.

Mondo scary.

Still, as the saying goes, a fool and his money are soon parted.

Totally believable except that A) ebay doesn't capitalize the b, B) they don't charge for accounts C) I would hope they have better spelling than to use "trully".

But as Giles pointed out, a fool and his money are soon parted.

I would like to do something like this just to see how stupid some people are. I could never do it, but it would be interesting to see how many people would actually give their information.

I wouldn't have any problem asking, but I wouldn't use it for anything. I'd probably just send them an email back that tells them how stupid they are.

Some people need to spend their time a little more usefully. Maybe they could get a job pumping septic tanks or picking up trash, atleast that's being optimistic for them.

Now that's just trully rottten, realllly it is.

Anyone want to place bets on how long it'll be until the inevitable PayPal variant of this scam shows up? Seems like whenever a fake eBay email does the rounds, a fake PayPal email is never too far behind...

You'll never guess what I got in the old e-mail again today. TWICE...

Those of you who have Windows XP's Narrator installed on your computers, paste that text into a Notepad window and have it read it back to you. It's a million times funnier when you have a computerized voice clumsily reading it back to you, especially when it attempts "psocers" and "lnoegr".

I just got the eBay.com mail as well today - which is vaguely amusing as I registered with eBay.co.uk and any e-mails I get come from them. But PIN code? Give me a break!
