What is meant with G25 support? I see no differences. Clutch still not working properly, feedback seems strange... So, was the meaning of 'support' that we could re-assign the keys? :/

Unless I am doing something wrong..

Nope it's what you said. That's it. Have fun.

I suppose you may go under options menu and select your wheel.
This will allow to set up your wheel 'face' buttons.
I have a G27 (6 buttons) and it's going to be useful.

If clutch worked like it should then all wheel/clutch users would be able to shift way faster than any other user making it unfair.

But just thinking of flat shifting a 700hp camaro makes me drool.

..problem is I am not having fun at all...

If clutch worked like it should then all wheel/clutch users would be able to shift way faster than any other user making it unfair.

...and then faster drivers would also be faster.. :P

agree that they do need to improve the clutch to be similar to it is in other games like dirt3.

Umm.. Dirt3 is arcade racer, not a sim.

dirt 3 ffb sucks.. at least pc version with the million g25 settings... not even worth to look for the correct ones..

Tried to change the button setting with G27, didn't have an effect. Anyone else?

Edit: nevermind, its a bug and is getting fixed.

GT5 would need clutch and transmission damage to keep flat shifting in the game. GT5P had flat shifting until people started complaining then Kaz blocked it and GT5 came out of the box with missshifts enabled, time to put it back in with transmission damage PD. People sure find a lot to complain about when things are free, there are other games you can go play instead of this one.

*I* am not complaining because it's free - actually wouldn't care less if it's free or not, but this minor thing to some, keeps me away from a game I spent hundreds of hours with.

That last part doesn't even make any sense, keeps you away from playing a game you spend hundreds of hours with? Quick thought about that would have saved you from posting that as it is.

Best thing is post it in the main GT5 thread that Kaz and company reads, enough people complain about it more than likely they will take a listen. Cheers, that won't stop me from playing the game in the least, it's too small an issue besides you can and won't outshift the new double clutch automatics or paddle shifter cars. I can shift quite fast with the clutch but being perfect is a problem as the misshifting was more annoying than anything else, had to be clinical with my shifts. I will try it out in Spec 2.0 later on to see if it is still anal like the original.

It's as bad as it was before.. well, I was playing because I used to enjoy it, because everything else was so small and lacking compared to GT5.

But then competition arose; Shift 2 is better in EVERYTHING except car modeling, car variety, day-night shifts, weather, and well... the culture of GT. It sounds better, it plays better, in feels better, AI is competitive as hell, there's damage, there are many tracks...

Now, is it crazy to ask for something that was supposed to be there? What someone else said above, if they didn't want people to quick-shift they should implement transmission damage... or at least be able not to press fully the clutch, that's it.

edit: just realized what you meant.. it keeps me away NOW (and the past 3 months)

Gotta laugh at this thread, all the people disagreeing with me in the last one. And here we have it.

Guess what... The clutch is crap with all wheels. And the support was only meant to re-assign keys.

As usual, I was right again.

Tho above : Shift 2, I thought was crap. Innacurate tracks, half assed physics and ridiculously inconsistant sounds, some sounded great, some sounded worse than any car in GT5 (MX5 with engine upgrade, ugghhh). I'd take GT5 over that buggy pile of poop any day.

You're awesome dude. We should all just adopt your opinion and forget about our own because it's obviously the ONLY correct one. 👍

I've never noticed any issue or problem with my clutch, guess you're not as awesome as I thought. 👎

Let's just see if it's a wheel specific issue or just a G25/G27 issue in a week's time. Then the TH8 RS shifter will be released and in the hands of some people (including me). Hopefully the clutch on the T500 RS will be active as well.

I never said I had an issue with the clutch, I said the clutch was crap.

You need to learn to read properly, then you can be awesome too!

I don't know if i'm doing something wrong but upon assigning several buttons on my G27 and pressing OK, the game saves and i exit the menu and all is well but during the race the assigned buttons do not respond. I've tried this with multiple variations and they just don't work. Guess it's not fixed just yet.

I was able to get everything working except the top right button on the wheel and the far right button on the shifter. Also, the far left button on shifter and top left button are swapped. Where is the info about this getting fixed?

I feel the clutch to be more accurate (less mis-shifts) since update.

Rephrased: "I never noticed my clutch being crap." Still doesn't change the fact that there's opinions out there that are different from yours. Or should we all abandon the game because you think the clutch is crap? This is a video game ya know, I'm still thoroughly impressed that we even have a clutch and 6-speed shifter. That's something I never thought I'd see on a commercial wheel. So crap or not, I still love it!

On topic, I was able to successfully map the buttons on my steering wheel. I've seen reports that you can't actually change the top 2 buttons but I was ok with their current functions so I didn't try to change them. You can also now adjust the level of Force Feedback which is a welcome improvement.

Verdict: Does the clutch feel like a real-life car now? Of course not. Is everything else on the G25/G27 now fully supported and functional? YES!!

+1, more real the better
